Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes). If the problem goes away, that tells us one thing. If it does not, that tells us something else.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options)
key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?

While still in Safe Mode,

Some of your crash reports weren’t sent to the Mozilla Servers.

In the address bar, type about:crashes<enter>. Note: If any reports do not have BP in front of the numbers/letters, click it and select Submit.

The crash report is several pages of data. We need the report numbers to see the whole report.

Using your mouse, mark the most resent 7 - 10 crash reports, and copy them. Now go to the reply box below and paste them in.

not sure what you mean about starting it in safe mode. never done it before. i'll try this in a little while, and i'll save this email too. im in the middle of something and didnt want to lose it while im doing it. im just not computer literate so all this seems confusing, thanks

its working better now, when i was trying what you were saying some stuff came up and one was to install superantispyware so i did and it seems to help but then it put skype on my netbook and it was on unresponse a lot and then i took skype out and now its working great, what is it about skype that slows everything down?

I do not use Skype. Disable it until you talk to someone who does.
