When I copy a bookmark folder from one PC to another via Remote Desktop, the folder copies but the bookmarks in the folder don't. Has something changed?

To open the Bookmarks Manager, press the Alt or F10 key bring up the tool bar, and select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac:<Command>) <Shift> B.

Once the window is open, at the top of the page, press the button labeled Import and Backup. Select Export Bookmarks To HTML, and follow the prompts and save it to a HTML file. Copy the file to another computer. Repeat the instructions above, BUT select Import Bookmarks From HTML,

Are you using the clipboard to copy the folder from the Bookmarks Manager (Library)?

Thanks Fred; I want only to copy selected folders.

cor-el: yes, that's how I've always done it (Ctrl-c/Ctrl-v or r. click Copy/Paste). BTW, I forgot to mention single bookmarks copy OK.

I think that pasting folders via the clipboard is broken. I used to do that to copy some folders with bookmarklet between browser profiles and have to copy the content of each folder.

If I check the clipboard for "text/x-moz-place" then only the folder is present. Firefox 38 ESR still has the full folder content with the folder (text/x-moz-place-container) and the children (text/x-moz-place). Maybe file a regression bug about this.

Thanks. Found it's already in - https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1177654 Copy & paste Bookmarks folder will fail between 2 instance of browser

Hmm. It looks that this will be difficult to fix as they currently only move the folder around and the children are found automatically via their ID and aren't included in a move or copy/paste. This will work fine in the current instance, but will obviously fail when you want to copy a folder to another instance (copying keywords are a problem as well).

text/unicode still has all the links of the children, but no other data. text/x-moz-place only has the folder data and no children.
