Dear Sir or Madam,

The newest version of Your browser is making some "problems" (though the more appropriate term would be "unwanted visual changes") with viewing some sites. It started highlighting some elements of different sites (on Facebook or internet forums) namely the hour and date of posts. It wasn't like that on the 39.0.x version - checked it on my older PC which don't have the newest update applied yet.

Examples are presented in added image (@edit - it seems that I cannot upload the image correctly - endless "Uploading "11.jpg"...". Here is the link: http://i.imgur.com/zaO91fq.jpg ).

Yours sincerely, Matt

I noticed the same thing as behemort and already looked for the CSS, but it seemed to be something else.

I founded nothing about underlining in CSS, tried to remove associated class and upper classes, modified date values, no change…

Actually it is the abbr HTML tag (abbr stands for abbreviation) > more The layout is <abbr title="full text">shorter text</abbr> and it works without any CSS, in a blank HTML page for example.

So in my opinion, Firefox 40.0 could implement a new way to display this HTML tag, but I found nothing related on Bugzilla or in about:config.

You can right-click such a text the select Inspect Element to check this element in the Inspector to see if you can identify CSS rules that are responsible.

Here are few examples: <abbr title="13 sierpnia 2015 o 18:54">13 godz.</abbr>

<abbr title="2015-08-13T08:13:03+00:00">Wczoraj, 10:13</abbr>

It seems that it's abbr. Anyway, I have checked the about:config and classes already.

We will have to wait for an update of some sort.

Has this issue ever been resolved, or is there a fix I can implement manually at least? I have been experiencing the same phenomenon for about a year now. Obviously it is not that urgent of a problem and I have been mostly ignoring it, but it would be nice to see blogs and various websites displayed correctly in Firefox once again.

It doesn't appear anymore in the newest version (or the latest 43.x version), at least in the case of Facebook. It sometimes appears on some forums, although it can be connected with them using the older version of interface from IPB.
