AFAIK you can change the permission in one site by right clicking on the webpage, selecting "Page Info" and scrolling to the plugin listed under the permissions tab.

The System Details list shows that you run an older Firefox 23.0 version that is no longer supported with security updates.

You can inspect and manage permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab via these steps:

• Click the "Site Identity Button" (globe/padlock) on the location/address bar
• Click "More Information" to open "Tools > Page Info" with the Security tab selected
• Go to the Permissions tab (Tools > Page Info > Permissions) to check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab

Note that the globe/padlock doorhanger shows permissions that have been modified from the default.

Such choices are part of the Site Preferences, so make sure that you do not clear these when you clear history.

I usually dislike asking here since there's always one person who'll answer "update your stuff" as a magic "fix-all" answer to everything.

And that maybe I'd be more inclined to update firefox if every 2nd firefox update didn't break at least half my plugins, toolbar format, and insisted on REMOVING certain features just for sake of becoming streamlined (aka a google chrome clone). My experience with updates has not being good. At least every update has managed to break something, whether it be backwards compatibility with an addon, or even basic stuff like RSS, favicons or themes. I just end up rolling back after several hours of frustratingly trying to get basic appearance or add-ons to work.

Is there some reason that firefox devs insist on changing APIs or whatnot every few versions and make it difficult for modders to do anything? It is barely viable to keep updating add-ons, and it is even hard to just maintain the same page layout when updating.

I'm aware of the security risks, but if the devs want to make updating hell, then what can I do?

It's been like this ever since version 3.6: 3.6> 4.0: Layout changes, add-on changes, core engine changes? > Everything breaks 4.0>5.0: Bottom toolbar removed. 4.0>8.0: Some core engine changes yet again > Themes break, Addons break 11.0 or somewhere there: Aero Theme always tied to windows, cannot be independent 12.0 > 13.0: Favicons, bookmarks and history break. RSS feeds also break. Context menu breaks. 23>24: History breaks yet again, have to manually edit and repair a corrupt places.sqlite file. Themes and addons also break. 23>29: Addons break 30 something: Tabs under bookmarks removed entirely. Themes break yet again.

You get the idea. I gave up and stuck with v23. At least some of that stuff is fixable with addons, or editing files in your profile folder. But you shouldn't have to do that for basic appearance.

I've already tried v39, the toolbars are broken yet again because of some new layout tool, but at least there are compatible addons, so those don't break.

Maybe I'll update to v38, as I hear v39 uses some new format for toolbars that broke everything again, but most of my addons seem to support v38. v38 is still relatively supported and secure, right?

If you have some recommended way to update without breaking basic functionality, I'm all ears.
