Exiting from full screened youtube video exits full screened firefox aswell

I updated the adobe flash player and now when I full screen a youtube video and press Esc to exit it also exits the full screened browser. Before updating it just exited the video and kept the browser full screened. Also, I was able to fix this problem once before but can't remember how I did it. I went through settings and all menus but couldn't find anything that might fix this

Hi, we had a thread on this the other day: Fix problem with fullscreen after updating Firefox.

In short, this happens when you are using the "HTML5 Player" on YouTube. If you force the use of the Flash plugin with an extension (YouTube Flash Video Player), then exiting full screen in the player does not exit Firefox full screen.

I searched in the bug tracking system, and it appears this will be fixed in Firefox 40. According to a comment, the fix was too complicated to easily add to Firefox 38 or 39, so unfortunately, until Firefox 40, if this is really annoying, you will need to use Flash for videos (which you can force on YouTube using the extension mentioned earlier).
