Well Firefox 37.0 was the target and there will be Win64 build for 37.0b2 as automated builds however it will likely not be until 38.0b1 that they will be listed and supported.

I did not mention Aurora since it is meant more for Testers and Devs in mind and not regular Firefox users. Not all regular Firefox users know how to do a separate installs and Profiles.

Also the Aurora and Nightly development channels gets checkins almost everyday so therefore they get updates each of those days and some users may not like the frequent updates.

Besides as I said there may be Win64 builds on Beta channel as early as 37.0b2 and that will likely be more stable even if just automated builds.

Using Windows 8.1 64-bit here. When the final 64-bit version becomes publicly available, will it automatically replace the old version when downloaded, or will we need to uninstall old version before upgrading?

Based on experience, developers try to make it choose automatically but I'm not sure and I don't know who to ask.

I have seen discussion of making a stub for Windows so it will install the Win32 or Win64 depending on your OS and cpu.

Note that 64-bit XP, Vista and servers are not supported as you will need 64-bit Windows 7, 8.x or newer.

Also the 64-bit Flash may not be supported.
