Hello.

I have a ZTE Open C with FOS 1.3, and I'd like to add an email address using the Roundcube webmail (more precisely, Roundcube included in an OwnCloud account). It doesn't seem to work, and from what I've found online, I'm not the only one. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

Hi frpeneaud,

I was not able to find much documentation regarding IMAP access from OwnCloud's implementation of RoundCube, and how it might be conflicting with ZTE Open C.

Please reply to this message with the following information:

  • What is the model of your phone?
  • What is the OS version and Build ID found in the Device Information page? Please visit this link if you need help finding the Build ID of your phone.
  • Please provide the exact steps to reproduce the issue you are encountering.
  • How often do you encounter this issue?

I would also suggest getting in touch with the support channels of RoundCube and OwnCloud's for more information.

Please be sure to include as much detail as possible, including any websites that may exhibit this issue, and any error messages that you may be receiving, exactly as they appear. This will ensure that we have all the necessary information to investigate this behavior.

Hello.

Thanks for your answer.

My phone is a ZTE OPEN C, the build is FFOS_FR_ZTE_OPENCV1.0.0B03, the version is 1.3.0.0.

What I'm trying to do (the words might not be the exact ones in an English version, since I'm using a French phone): Email->Add an account. If I try to use the automatic configuration (Name/Address/Password), it says that it can't automatically configure the account. I then try the manual configuration, by adding the IMAP username and hostname, selecting STARTTLS, set the port to 143 and the same for the SMTP (port 587). I get a "bad-user-or-pass" message. I know these informations work, since they are the same ones I use in Thunderbird.

Thanks for your help.

Hi frpeneaud,

Were you able to resolve your issue?

It appears that roundcube has lots of possible configurations, some of which might be in conflict with what Firefox OS supports in the Email application:

Please also ensure that HTTPS and the security certificates are configured correctly.

If you continue to have issues, please reach out to the dev-b2g mailing list, where developers might have more insight into any conflicts that might be happening with your specific mail server setup:

Thanks,

- Ralph

Hello.

Thanks for your answer. I haven't resolved my problem.

I don't have access to the Roundcube configuration, since it's part of the larger service I use. But I'll try and use the mailing list link you gave me.

Thanks again.
