This problem happened since the first of the year. I have a Radeon 7000 graphics card, and am running XP Service Pack 3. I also have a friend who is having this same problem except her browser is crashing opening files. I have even uninstalled a printer which I added during that period of time and the associated software, but it didn't solve the problem.

This is a problem with the PxtrVDF.dll file that is part of Pixtree H264 Decoder Filter software. What is pxtrvdf.dll from Pixtree, Inc.? (id:10491138):

The modules list of the crash report shows a lot of installed codecs. If you installed such a codec pack from some website then best is to uninstall it as some pack can come with malware.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
