After updating to version 35, Firefox has become almost unusable. No other change was made to my system, which worked fine up until the update. The browser starts and works fine for a few (not consistent) minutes, then starts using the hard drive heavily, slowing down the bowser itself and everything else. Usage has a 'saw' pattern, going regularly from 50% to 90% every couple of seconds. All stops when I close Firefox. I couldn't pinpoint a particular website that triggered this behaviour. Also the browser has crashed 4 times in less than 48hrs. Win8.1 64, 16GB ram, Nvidia GT640, all software (including plug-ins) up-to date.

Please advise, thank you

Thank you for the prompt reply. Only two reports in the last 24hrs show on the about:crashes page, but I'm quite sure there were more.
