loss of (most recent (and stacked)) restore session data (though the tabs appear) upon an install of 25, when switching from 33.

review of the folder that seems to hold the cache ("0c0e8h9l.default" (is this (/can this) be correct?)) is alarming because it does not seem to hold any files, but for three or so, for a (the most recent) three year period.

Going back from Firefox 33 to Firefox 25 could result in the loss of session data. Going back a version or two usually doesn't present a problem, but going back 8 versions isn't wise.

As far as the Cache goes, there have been multiple changes to the "construction" of the Cache from Firefox 29 up through Firefox 33 - chances are that going back broke something there or perhaps Firefox 25 just can't read the newer Cache files.
