Hello,
You do not need to uninstall to upgrade. If you are seeing two versions of Firefox in your Control Panel > Programs and Features, can you confirm that you downloaded your installer from the official Mozilla site:
For future reference, you can automatically update your Firefox by going to:
- Help (or

) > About Firefox
Going there will automatically check for new updates and apply them. If you want Firefox to automatically check for updates in the background, you can go to:
- Tools (or ) > Options > Advanced > Update
