Why has Cat videos hijacked firefox,unable to move of page to yahoo had to uninstall and reinstall without maintainence
I Have had latest version of Firefox ? on my computer running Windows 7. 64bit. Today whilst using the computer, I clicked on my home page which would take me to the Yahoo home page and I found it was taken over by Cat videos. Yahoo was in a search box but the page was locked by Cat videos. I was totally inconvenienced. Cat videos associated with Mozilla wanted me to sign up with them, which I did not want to do. I thought the solution was to uninstall/re-install but the same locked page appeared. I uninstalled again and went to another site and downloaded an older version which solved the problem, but was pressured to upgrade, I took the chance but before I opened Firefox I uninstalled the mozilla management. I now have the latest version, and for the time being it has not been hijacked by Cat videos. Why is Mozilla causing these problems, and trying to introduce us to other commercial organizations that users do not want. I wasted a lot of time this evening getting back to normal. I would appreciate some sort of explanation please.

What is the web address of that page?
Close Firefox. Then, use a link to anything you have. Desktop or folder. Use that link to start Firefox. That page should now be displaced.
Check your home page settings;
Open a new window or tab. In the address bar, type about:config. If a warning screen comes up, press the Be Careful button. This is where Firefox finds information it needs to run. At the top of the screen is a search bar. Enter browser.newtab.url and press enter. browser.newtab.url tells Firefox what to show when a new tab is opened. If you want, right click and select Modify. You can change the setting to;
about:home (Firefox default home page), about:newtab (shows the sites most visited), about:blank (a blank page),
or you can enter any web page or about: page you want.
The same instructions are used for the new window setting, listed as browser.startup.homepage.
It could be the work of one of your add-ons, or even add / mal-ware. Look thru your add-ons list and make sure you know what each one is and what it does. Also, check the programs that are on your computer
Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the "Applications" folder Linux:
- Ubuntu Unity {web link}
- Xfce: Applications Menu category sections
- options depends on the package manager and the desktop environment
Go thru the list. If you find something that you don't know what it is, use a web search.
