Since Firefox 31 install i am having to revert to Chrome as screen flickering persists

As soon as I use Ff31 for a while the screen starts to flicker and renders it unusable. Usually restarting solves the problem but only for a while. Often i have to revert to another browser.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to Troubleshoot the issue and to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Hardware acceleration disabled and it is starting to happen in Safe Mode with AdOns disabled. I cannot make it happen in either mode as it normally just starts after a while or even sometimes on restart.
