This is taking place on my desk top. My phone still has all my email accounts. Not sure if all my contacts are in my phone but way more than my desk top. Should mention new computer in Oct.24 with change from windows 10 to windows 11. Two thing, one, my other email accounts are no longer listed in thunderbird. Still have my main email with it's folders. I did the sinking thing with the phone still missing. Two, My contacts are mostly missing. Had Friends list, Business list, Family list and so on, all gone.

After many years of using Thunderbird with an AOL account I changed my password in AOL to increase the security. So I had to install the AOL account again in Thunderbird. I created an app password in AOL and put it in Thunderbird. Everythin fine so far. AOL login window opens automatically. But after login to AOL the message "somthing went wrong" and "try on anther device" pops up. I tried it on several PC's - no way. Other mail clients like Mailspring oder Mailbird did work with the AOL account. What is the problem?

Hello everybody, I have 5 accounts managed with Thunderbird. They are named provider, provider-1 up to provider-4. I don't know, which Thunderbird-Account belongs to which Provider-Account. Is there any possibility to find out, which Thunderbird-Account belongs to which Provider-Account and to save one of these 5 Thunderbird-Accounts on disk?

I would like to change the authentication method to OAuth2, but it doesn't appear in the drop-down menu.

My Thunderbird version is 140.4.0esr (64-bit). I have all cookies set to allow.

How do I change it to OAuth2?

I have a working Thunderbird email account on a windows 10 computer. I recently bought a new windows 11 computer and downloaded Thunderbird from the Thunderbird site. I installed it on the new computer and tried setting up my email. It fails in auto and manual setup. Since I have a working account on the windows 10 computer, I should be able to look at the settings and transfer them to the new computer. I am 76 years old and have a difficult time with today's technology. If someone can assist me, I would be grateful and co-operate fully. Thank you.

I've uninstalled and loaded thunderbird 115.18.0 twice and both times missing some of the settings in the server. Incoming server & copies and folders most notably....do I need an older version for windows 7 64 bit?

I had set it up for imap but your installer said it found the correct configuration. I'm on ATT server. I don't think so or the server settings wouldn't be missing. The outgoing was there but not the rest. HELP my email is [edited from public forum] @att.net

It says my sbcglobal.net settings are out of date. Pops up once a day. HOw do I update my settings for [edited from public] @sbcglobal.net?

Wanting to take one of my several email accounts offline. It's a club chairman account and someone else is taking over. I don't (yet) want to lose the history of past emails.

The online manual says to use 'Advanced Settings', but I can't find anything that looks like the images or that has similar tabs or sections. Where is it on Thunderbird under Ubuntu?

I had a couple of old work accounts through Google Workspace a couple of years ago. I deleted the accounts from Thunderbird when I left the positions.

Now, whenever I log in to Thunderbird, Google access login pops up wanting access to my old accounts, which I no longer have.

One of them even has the name of another person on it.

Any help on how to stop this from happening would help.

I had an emal logged in on Thunderbird, but I no longer need it/ don't have access to it. I have deleted the account from thunderbird, deleted the calender settings for the account, and also deleted the outgoing server settings for that particular account. However, Thunderbird keeps prompting me to provide the password for that account. How can I completely remove that particular account so it stops asking me to log back in to the account?

I keep getting an alert saying I need to update my email account. How do I do that? (BOTH of my email accounts work fine on my home computer, but neither works on my classroom computer. I'm a teacher).

Version 144.0.1. Unable to add a new email account. After entering the email address and going to automatic configuration... The circle keeps spinning forever... How do I add the account manually? I tested it on two computers.

I can't access my talk talk account on my desktop anymore. Talk talk say my password has been changed correctly and that if I go in via their website I can access my email - which I can. The man on the helpdesk (actual person) said this is because it is 'controlled' by Thunderbird and he thinks I should close the account via Thunderbird and open up a new one. I am loath to do this in case I lose all my old emails. I am a 69 year old techno phobe so an easy to follow reply would be much appreciated.
