I'm cross-posting this in the desktop version forums since it applies for both mobile and desktop.
I really don't understand what is the logic behind the way the password manager was implemented, and it's a major no-go for me. The purpose of a master password should be that it is asked EACH time you try to show the passwords in plain text (in the settings), not once per session (which is also very annoying since the purpose of the password manager is to prevent you from having to enter passwords).
In other words:
If I enter my master password but leave the computer turned on or my cell phone on the table without closing Firefox (which most people do), then someone can go to my setting and have a plain text version of all my passwords instantly, which is pretty bad. The other thing is that while I understand that SOME people might want to enter their master password once per session, most people don't care about this and find this actually annoying and this should be optional. This is actually beating the purpose of the password manager which is NOT to have to enter any password. They are masked, and I do not care if someone opens my browser and views my facebook. What I really care about however is that they shouldn't be able to go to my settings and have an easy access to all my passwords in plain text!
So having to enter your password every session should be an option, while having to enter your password should be mandatory each time you open the password manager itself (or at least optional!). What a major security flaw for a browser that prides itself on privacy...

Hello!
So, I was working on a new blog on which I'm using the Rubik font from Google fonts.
Everything was fine for several days, but today, after working for some time on it, the font just got messed up randomly (see attached image).
I added the font on a different, testing site and it shows messed up there as well, so it's not something website related.
Now, the shocking part is that it gets messed up only on Mozilla and only on the Mozilla browser that's on my Desktop PC.
I asked a friend to check it out and I also checked it out on my laptop, and the font is fine on other Mozilla browsers, as well as other browsers.
Other fonts from other websites are fine as well.
What troubleshooting I performed:
- Checked the font with Inspect Element, as it's shown here: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Page_Inspector/How_to/Edit_fonts and the font is set up correctly;
- Deleted the whole history since the beginning of time (cookies, cache, everything);
- Closed and opened Firefox again;
- Opened Mozilla in Safe Mode (hardware acceleration is disabled by default in safe mode);
- Restarted my PC;
- Uninstalled Mozilla as it shows here - https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/uninstall-firefox-from-your-computer. Deleted the profile folder and everything.
- Installed a fresh copy again with no add-ons, no nothing.
Nothing worked. That font is still messed up on Mozilla, on this PC.
It doesn't make any sense, especially since it went nuts randomly without a particular reason.
Does anyone have an idea of what could be the problem and how to fix it?
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Hello,
Please reference this support thread on SoundCloud's tech support forums. The thread contains all pertinent information, including videos of the problem and console screenshots made by myself and others. https://www.soundcloudcommunity.com/soundcloud/topics/skipping-to-the-middle-of-a-track-causes-stuttering-and-glitchy-audio-chrome-firefox
In a nutshell, when you try to skip forward during streaming audio, there is a buffering/stuttering issue that prevents proper playback of the track. This problem is confirmed on SoundCloud and Traxsource, and other people in the support thread have mentioned Mixcloud and other streaming sites. In other words, this is not the fault of one particular streaming service or another.
The problem does not occur in Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, or Chrome. Well, to clarify, when the problem was posted on the SoundCloud support forums, Chrome was having the same issue. However, they did a version push a few days ago, which fixed it.
Here is my original post on SoundCloud support (minus erroneous information about Chrome), which has pertinent details. Note that we upgraded both Flash and Firefox recently, so although I mention previous versions in my original post, everyone involved has since updated their browsers and Flash.
As of now, the only fix for the issue is to roll back to Firefox 40.0.2. Thanks for any and all help =)
Matt
Original Message===========
Skipping to the middle of a track causes stuttering and glitchy audio (Firefox).
I am running Windows 10 Pro.
There seems to be a caching issue affecting playback - I started noticing this problem three or four days ago. Previously, I could skip through my stream at will, going straight to the middle of tracks or mixes to listen to a few seconds, and determine if I liked the track. Now, I cannot do that on Firefox 41.0.1. The problem is merely annoying on songs that are 3 or 4 minutes in length, as I must let them "cache" for perhaps ten seconds before skipping around. Unfortunately, the problem is a game-breaker on mixes that are, for example, 90 minutes long. If I skip to a point directly in the middle of the mix, nothing happens. The playback button alternates between the "Play" symbol, and the "Caching" symbol ("..."), and if audio does resume, it is glitchy and consists of different parts of the track being played back at once.
I've eliminated my internet connection as a source of the problem by loading up Edge. In Edge 20.10240.16384, the problem does not exist. I can scroll down to any 2-hour mix in my feed, click on the middle of it, and the audio starts right up. No caching, no stuttering or glitching.
I rolled back Flash to version 18 to see if it fixed the problem in Firefox, but it did not. The problem persisted, so I re-upgraded back to Flash 19.

Clicking the above link in FF47 has normally displayed until not long ago a list of my e-mail clients present on my Win 10 Pro 64-bit PC. In the list, Thunderbird (my default) was highlighted. After confirming it, Thunderbird (v. 42.2) was launched with the intended URL (of the given Web page) in the e-mail body. This was what I wanted. Several days ago, the e-mail link stopped working and it does not do anything any longer although it behaves (in the toolbar) as "live" (not "dead") icon. I am an advanced user but cannot find out or figure out what has happened and how to restore its previous normal functionality. Let me add that I have quite a number of add-ons in FF, some of which I have added recently (they are all related to security). Please, advise what should be done to solve my problem. Thank you for your attention.

So the cause of this bug is Firefox!!!

Hi
All other borowsers load youtube but not firefox it hangs on loading youtube on red like above at quarter fill and the buffering ring keeps en-circling like a shark. It has occured since update to Firefox version 65.0.2 on 64bit. Please fix this and kindly get back to me. I checked my router, dns, ethernet adapter etc. and all my pc's have this issue since this version of firefox came out. I am throughly fed up. Please get back to me asap. I am not a noob and have exhausted all possible troubleshooting steps. Refreshed firefox, reinstalled it after removing it with proper scrubbing software, checked the about:config everything I can possibly think of and even scoured the forums. I just spent 4 hours of my life trying to fix this and even did a previous windows backup restore to no avail.

So i reset the pc without cheking if the passwords actually worked (yuh, my bad). The problem is that apparently mozilla doesn't recognize the files, or something, cause when i open "Logins and passwords" it's empty. I don't know what to do, please help me.

There is right now literally no obvious way to bookmark a page. This is a serious flaw in the browser.
The Forum instructions say to restore it from "Customize." But it's not there, just the bookmark menu button, which does not allow you to bookmark a page. It then says restore defaults. That doesn't restore the star either. Does anyone know how to get it back once it's gone? It should not be so difficult that I can't figure it out.

I have been trying for weeks to solve this problem and figure out how it happened but I cannot download any type of file on Google Drive on Firefox and it's been bothering me. I have cleared my cookies, cache, history, saved logins, restarted on private browsing, changed numerous settings and deleted and reinstall Firefox and Abode Flash. Nothing has worked. I even deleted McAfee protection in case it was a firewall problem but that didn't work either.
I'm only having this problem on my HP laptop and on this browser. Downloading google drive files works on my Dell Laptop through any browser.
If anyone has any suggestions as to why this is happening and how to solve it, I would be very grateful. I provided a screenshot of the error every time I try to download a file.

I don't know why - possibly after a firefox update to 49.0.2? But Firefox on Windows 10 is no longer saving or using my saved passwords. When I try to display saved logins, there are none showing. However, I do have intact key3.db and logins.json files, and I can see in logins.json that there are lots of logins stored in there. So I'm sure the data are there, but just not being read.
Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't help. Refresh didn't help. Synch seems to connect, but doesn't help. Isn't there some command to force the browser to read the saved logins file?

I was using Firefox without problem until the last few weeks on my 3rd Gen Carbon X1 running fully-patched Windows 10 64-bit. At some point, it just stopped launching. I have tried everything suggested here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-wont-start-find-solutions without luck.
In particular, I uninstalled Firefox with Windows 10 "Add and Remove Programs". Then I deleted all Mozilla/Firefox folders under \AppData. Then I went through the registry and deleted every Mozilla or Firefox key. I rebooted, and reinstalled Firefox from scratch using the installer. There are no errors on installation; however, when I then try to launch Firefox, nothing happens (the process is visible in task manager or pslist, but otherwise no windows opens). I have also tried launching firefox.exe from the command shell; likewise, no errors or other response--it just stays spawns the pid but then no window opens or other visible indication that Firefox is there.
I've tried variations on this uninstall/purge/reboot process several times without any progress. I just can't get firefox.exe to launch at all on this system. Otherwise, the box seems to functioning perfectly, and all other common web browsers work fine.
I've also tried launching in safe mode (via command line or keypress) but get no different result.
Any ideas for narrowing the issue?

Hello,
I know there's a couple of 'lost bookmarks-toolbar' topics here but none have a working solution for me. I was browsing a site which had a bad habbit of opening new browserwindows. Alas, I closed my main Firefox window with lots of tabs open and forgot about one of the newly opened windows with none of my tabs. Closed that one, lost all tabs for that session.
Wasn't too worried but today I realize that my bookmarks toolbar is missing also. Guess something went wrong closing but can't figure out how to get it back. Tried various solutions presented here : safe mode, renaming places.sqlite, checking I actually got 'display bookmarks-toolbar' marked, etc... nothing worked so far.
If I start Firefox after a complete exit it actually show the bookmarks toolbar for just a second and then it's gone. If I check my Bookmarks and do a 'Show All' I can find all the bookmarks in there, even a seperate section for the Bookmarks Toolbar. If I check the latest backup of my Bookmarks it is a nearly empy file. Also had to turn Sync of 'cause I would get an empty Bookmarks Toolbar after a sync.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Tnx!

I've got the same problem as Firefoxfan1 since upgrading to the v60 as Firefoxfan1. When i want to open FF it won't open 2 times out of 3 and when it never opens or else FF crashes or i have to end the tasks in Task Manager. Sometimes opening new tabs hangs indifinetly until FF crashes.
