From the last upgrade, it will no longer open a NEW tab when I click on a link. Instead, it opens the link on the same tab I was on. I went to "Options" to see if my settings changed with the upgrade; but now I don't even see it as an option to choose.
The "Restore the last session" feature is no longer working well either. It will restore some windows (don't know what its parameters are for deciding which ones). I go to History, "Recently Closed Windows" and Restore All Windows but it doesn't restore all the windows or tabs of my last session. This feature is VERY important for me to remind me of unfinished work!
Thank your help in these matters.

With chrome I can easily restore previous session of tabs (27 in this case - image is attached).
But with firefox, I only get once chance to restore the tabs using the "restore previous session" button. If you click somewhere else once, you have to go hunting through your history, And if you had any tabs opened that you didnt visit yesterday, they dont even show up in the history.
Extremely frustrating, Really wish firefox was more like chrome in this aspect.

I left the tab open and shut down the computer and log on again, but the tabs disappeared, and when I close the tabs at once, the button to restore the previous session comes out as soon as I turn on Firefox. So I tried to try to find out how to restore the previous session, search for it and let Mozilla know how to do it, but it does not fit my Firefox. I'm up-to-date but I do not know if the version is different. This is because there is no version in the explanation. First of all, if you click on the menu, you can not see the tab for restoring the previous session. Also, when the session is restored, there is no match for my case, and there is no last window and tab view when launching Firefox in the General panel in Settings. Once I have found all the fixes in my Firefox configuration, I have checked the old panel under the start page in the General panel, and I left it in my history. Cookies and site data are also available until the expiration date. No, it was already there. But the tabs disappeared. As a result of my thought, I deleted the entire visit record in the morning. I've kept tabs on Firefox ever since. But I do not think it would be a problem if I deleted my records. This is because the closed tabs are recorded as soon as the tabs are closed even if the history is deleted. I've looked into the add-on to see if there are apps that revert closed tabs, but nothing I thought of. What I'm saying is that Mozilla support is different from the latest version of Firefox. Therefore, other users are uncomfortable and uncomfortable. Also, I want to know why the closed tabs did not reopen as I said so far. And how do I know if I can revert closed tabs back to normal? I have a long question, but please answer it in detail. I do not know how to speak English. There may be awkward sentences, but I hope you understand. request.

Session restore after crash used to work, but during my recent crashes, I get about:blank instead of about:sessionrestore.
Additionally, a problem Mozilla Firefox is having for more than a decade: Session recovery failure.
They have made it worse by adding a layer of bulk (euphemism: “lz4”), which does more bad than good. (if it ain't broken, don't “fix” it).
My question is: What exactly causes Firefox to fail recovering the session?
I know about Session Manager (only for Firefox pre-Q**nt*m) and TabSessionManager (for Q*a**um), but the latter one unfortunately is close to useless.
Reviews state: “WHY CAN'T THE OLD SESSION MANAGER BE UPDATED TO WORK ON THE NEW FIREFOX??” (user 79323d, 6 days ago via https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/tab-session-manager/reviews/) Another review: “Literally nobody asked for IndexedDB. The legacy way (storage.local API) worked perfectly fine. No need for GarbageDB!” (by user e3fa12, 19 days ago)
I am using Windows 8.1 at the moment. I have not experienced the session recovery failure on Linux so far, and it used to work fine for Windows 8.1, even with 500+ tabs. But somehow, recently, it stopped working.

I downloaded a new version of FireFox and tried to quit FireFox normally. It didn't quit so I ForceQuit it. When I brought it back up, the selection to Restore Previous Session was grayed out. I am running OS X High Sierra.
Specifically, I tried to quit FireFox normally, then I ran a Time Machine Backup and when that was done, I Force Quit FireFox. Upon trying to bring up FireFox at this point was when the selection to Restore Previous Session was grayed out.
Can you please tell me where any back up session files are and what I would need to do to restore my prior sessions to FireFox. Since I was doing a Time Machine backup, I may be able to look there as well.
Thank you in advance for your help.

After my virus checker interrupted Firefox as it was opening (to remove a "telemetry" add-on or something), I reopened Firefox to find it would now only restore three of the ten windows from the previous session.
Obviously I would like to get back those other windows if possible. After some fiddling around, I opened my "sessionstore-backups" folder and discovered both the "recovery.jsonlz4" and "previous.jsonlz4" files contained the recent incomplete session rather than the older one I wanted.
I figure my last hope at recovering some of my lost tabs is the file "upgrade.jsonlz4-20180830143136". Am I right in thinking it can be used as a restore point? I have tried renaming it to "recovery.jsonlz4" while deleting the more recent "recovery.jsonlz4". Yet for some strange reason, when I restart Firefox it keeps going back to the deleted recent session file.
I have been copying the more recent "recovery.jsonlz4" to my Data drive before deleting it from "sessionstore-backups" - could that be causing the problem? It's in the Recycle Bin too. I'm just reluctant to delete it entirely.
In short: Why does Firefox keep restoring a session I've deleted? How can I make it restore the older upgrade file?

Upgrade v.62.0.2 dumped a few hundred tabs open in 5 different windows and for some reason did not to offer to "Restore previous session" despite its having been selected in Options > General. It has worked fine for months until this edition.
Fortunately I've got OneTab's option available but I haven't need it and the last save is several months old. It seems to me that "Restore previous session" being a basic function in OPTIONS should have necessitated its operational validation before release of this FF version.
Is there any file such as Roaming>Mozilla>Firefox>Profiles>[default profile].default/places.sqlite that contains a record of all tabs?

Hi!!
I had a lot of tabs open, but this morning my computer crashed, and when I restarted Firefox, I was asked wether to restaure session or to initiate a new one. I choose to restore my session, but instead of restauring my last session, Firefox restore my session as it was in early 2017, more or less 18 months ago.
is there anything I can do to retrieve that session?
I tried the solution of this thread, but it did'nt work (I don't find any sessionstore.jsonlz4 file in my profile) https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1234892 (I tried the last solution the best I can, but I'm not sure i did it properly, so maybe if someone is kind enough to help me getting through it, maybe it will do it.....)
Thanks a lot!!

For some reason it updated without asking/notifying me about it. Then after it restarted it reset EVERYTHING. I don't see the Apps anymore, the shortcuts on toolbar are gone/back to defult items & I can't restore any of the past backedup sessions from the past week! I had at least 150+ tabs in 4 windows. And I already tried the "History> Closed tabs"restore thing. It only restores the LAST session, since I've been trying to fix/figure this out for at least 12 hours & nothing has restored the tabs from about 13 hours ago. Note: My Bookmarks & History (I've previously set to saved before the sessions I've had to restart during) are fine, it's only the many tabs that I can't restore is my sudden problem.

When I reload Firefox after my computer crashes or freezes and needs to be restarted, Firefox will offer to restore my previous session. Half the time it works perfectly, but the other half it loads tabs from almost a week prior. There does not appear to be any rhyme or reason as to why one happens over the other.
