I had a issue with my Dell laptop, when it was resolved It had deleted Firefox. They created a new one, but the bookmarks are gone. I have looked at the information on recovering Bookmarks, but still cannot recover my bookmarks.

Can I get help on this issue?

All my Firefox bookmarks are GONE. I followed the directions for restoration, and the Restore (etc) window has nothing in it. I saved the bookmarks to a JSON (HTML) file on an external hard drive, but I cannot find a way to restore them. I'm just about tired of Firefox and the consistent problems. Please restore my faith. Thank you.

I just had Firefox overwrote a session restore I had open for a long time with a few hundred tabs. Is there any way to see prior session history or backup these sessions without manually copying the files? If not will these features ever be added?

Hi. While clearing my browser history the other night some of my bookmarks also got deleted. I understand once browser history is deleted it cannot be recovered, but is there any way a deleted bookmark can be recovered?

Running Linux Mint 22 on Dell desktop. On bootup, no bookmarks and message with link to restore them. Restarting computer sometimes works after multiple tries but often does not, currently on FF 138.0.3 but this problem has come up on several previous versions of Mint as well as FF. Now more frequent. No security or other software apps have been added or changed.

The last time I got the bookmarks to show I used the FF Save Bookmarks function to save them to a stick. That file shows on the stick as a .json file. Mozilla's choice, not mine. Manage Bookmarks in the hamburger menu generates a pop-up "Library" that will not access the .json file.

I just transferred my data from an old computer with Windows 10 and now have Windows 11 on my new computer with a new version of firefox as my browser. How do I restore my bookmarks?

Hi, I recently purchased a new laptop and want to bring over the bookmarks I had from my old laptop. I had copied what I thought was the profile from the old one and copied it into the new laptop - but I'm not sure of the next steps :(.

Last night I had an operating system update. Before the OS update, I closed all open apps, including Firefox. In the past, the session I closed the previous evening was restored. But this morning, all my pinned tabs and other open tabs are gone, and Restore Previous Session does not appear as an option on the dropdown menu. Recently Closed Tabs is pretty random, not really helpful. Recently Closed Windows only shows one tab that I opened this morning (probably a mistake on my part). Is there any way for me to retrieve the session from yesterday?

Let’s say I have 20 tabs open, which I don’t quite remember anymore but occasionally return to. Naturally, I have the browser set to restore all tabs on startup. At some point, for one reason or another, a second browser window opens in the background. I close my main browser window, and I’m left with just this second window. When I close that one too and then reopen the browser, I no longer see my 20 tabs — I only see that second window with a single tab. In the Firefox View menu, I don’t see my 20 tabs in the list of recently closed tabs or in the list of open tabs. Is this expected behavior? Are there any plans to fix this?

у меня стояла функция открытия вкладок из предыдущих сессий, но сегодня я открыл firefox сначало все вкладки были подписаны типа autoblock(или как-то так), я решил перезапустить браузер, в итоге открываю и ВСЕ вкладки исчезли, а у меня их там очень много и я точно не все вспомню, попробовал восстановить через журнал("восстановить резервную копию от" я выбрал от 21.10.2025, но она просто выдало сообщения, что текущие вкладки заменятся, на те, что в резервной копии и больше ничего не произошло) есть ли способ восстановить все вкладки не прибегая к тому, чтобы листать историю вручную?

not all windows appear in the drop down "window" menu, and a different number when each window is on top. Weird.

Using Mac OSX. Nothing is "full screen." Seems to be nothing to do with if a window is minimized or not.

I have restarted. Recently updated, and lost profile, but recovered it, but lost all my open windows & tabs, so now I have only 5 windows open. Seems to be nothing to do with if a window is minimized (OSX) or not. Needs a better mechanism to save open windows & tabs along with profile data.

Google appears to be taking over control of my firefox page. When I open Firefox, Google search and other functions appear on screen and take over. Also, most of my saved bookmarks have disappeared .This probably happened when I got tech help to deal with problems accessing my MS and Google accounts. I have always used the Google search engine but it only when I clicked on the search bar. Now it seems to have taken over and I seem only to be ableto access sites using Google Can I restore lost bookmarks so I can go direct to internet sites?

I am as much a believer in security as the next person but I don't understand what is going on,

I have had no response to my original ticket, which I beleive was number 305857 which I can no longer find any refernce to in my account, and I still have a completely blank Library! and I can't even make any new bookmarks!

I find recovering deleted bookmarks difficult in Firefox. Typically, I am told: "on August 12 you deleted 12,540 bookmarks. Do you want to recover them all and over-write your existing bookmarks?" To which the answer is obviously, no.

What I want is a system much more similar to the Microsoft File Explorer Recycle Bin, which lists deleted files on an individual basis, so if I have deleted a file, I can see its name, the date it was deleted, and where it came from, and I can restore that particular file. Or, since we are talking bookmarks here, recover a particular bookmark.

How can I achieve that? Is it possible?

I opened a profile that I had just used recently to a blank tab bar. I closed it and the sessionstore-backup folder did not have a recent backup, The most recent about a week old.

Just for testing, I tried to restore with one of the upgrade.jsonlz4 file, about 2 weeks old, but it also had no session. I then restored one that was 2 months old. That one had a session

Now, Firefox no longer generates the upgrade.jsonlz4 files

Hello! I accidentally logged into my account after switching to a new computer, creating a new recovery key. Now i do not have access to all my saved passwords. I have my recovery key but cannot find where should I type it to get back all my information. Is it possible to recover my information using the original recovery key, not the one I accidentally created? I really need to get the access to all my saved passwords, please help me with it. I opened Firefox (V 145.0.2) on my Windows 11 laptop today and noticed that the starting window was the only one open, while I have had at least five windows open for quite some time. The "History|Recently closed windows" option is greyed out. I have closed and restarted Firefox dozens of times and my windows always came back until today. Is that window/tab history stored somewhere where I could recover it?

Thinking about backups of the browser state, I looked for my profile folder and discovered that it is empty - \Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\mozilla is empty except for a file named vpn.moz. I then discovered that my profile seems instead to be stored under \Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\Mozilla.Firefox_n80bbvh6b1yt2\LocalCache\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles with the folder name e5di8bjy.default-release I now learned that this location is standard for installation via the Microsoft store - the so-called MSIX version. But it is wrong that the "About"profiles" page shows that my profile is in the AppData\Roaming, not the Packages, location. When I try to open that profile folder, I get a message telling me that it is not available on this computer. It seems like the profile info should be aware of the actual location?

I lost a bookmark folder in my main computer. I did a sync and it did not appear. I opened an other older computer and it was still there. I did a sync and expected it to then show up in my main computer, it did not. I went back to the old one, there it had now disappeared. The help files say go to bookmarks, then to manage bookmarks, except I don't have "manage bookmarks", just a list of some recent bookmarks. When I do a " bookmark search" for something which was in the folder, it finds it, so the folder is still somewhere. How do I get it back? Why did sync fail and did not add it from the old computer?
