Security exceptions have NEVER worked correctly for me, and I'm sick of it. Someone please help with this.
First of all, I posted about this months ago, the thread can be found here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/965352 . No personal ill-will toward the folks who responded, but none of the replies were helpful. Most were not even APPLICABLE. (This includes the final one, that I didn't respond to.)
Briefly: Occasionally, seemingly at random, a site (often one I've previously accessed with no problem) will start giving me the "This connection is untrusted" screen I'm sure you've all seen occasionally, ostensibly because of invalid security certificates, but in reality for no damn reason at all, at least not that I've ever been able to discern. I then click on the "I understand the risks => Add exception" option - unlike some others who have similar issues, I DO get this option, it's not greyed out or anything. This brings up the "Add Exception" dialog as expected, but apparently it's merely decorative, because when I click the Confirm Security Exception button at the bottom, LITERALLY NOTHING happens. The box doesn't close, no error message comes up, there is no visible change of any kind. I hope I'm being clear, when I say LITERALLY NOTHING happens I mean LITERALLY NOTHING happens.
(Sorry if that sounds condescending, but you'd be amazed at the number of times I've said something like that and the *immediate* response is something like "What did the error message say?". And looking at it from the other side, having done tech support, you'd be equally amazed at the things customers described as "nothing happening" that could not possibly be further from "nothing", including error messages that plainly spelled out what the problem was! I'm just trying to (a) avoid the first scenario, and (b) make it clear that this isn't an instance of the second one...)
To belatedly respond to the last message in the previous thread:
* I am NOT in private browsing mode * There are no intermediate certificates involved (and even if there were, I would have no clue, based on that message, about HOW to get them). * Also, it's a very bad sign that this message expressed doubt about whether I had an option that my original post quite explicitly spelled out that I *did* have. Again, no personal ill-will, and I know the OP in that thread was rather long, but even so, that kind of thing makes me wonder what *else* about the problem the person responding might have misunderstood.
Anyway. Hope that's clear enough, if anything isn't, please ask. I'm happy to answer questions about my settings and whatever else might be relevant, much less happy to correct faulty assumptions after the fact. It seems that significantly more people than me have this problem, let's see if we can get it resolved once and for all.

I read the solution to this from various posts but there's a problem with that solution.
Tools>Options>Advanced>"Warn me when websites try to redirect or reload a page"
Un-checking the redirect block is a Global setting. I want to know how to allow redirect/reload pages for sites I use every day as friendly sites. I do not want to turned off for the entire world wide web. Otherwise, why even have this security setting at all? I've already added my usual sites to my Privacy exception list hoping that will work but that list is ignored by the redirect security warning. The "Allow" popup is a real pain so the entire feature has to be disabled. Like I said, what's the point of having this feature.
Firefox - Please provide an exception list for Redirect warnings.

I am testing a website using selenium web driver. The particular site contains nested iframes. I cannot access content of Iframes, because of the Same Origin Policy. Therefore I disabled web security in chrome web driver and access those contents using following Jquery script.
$(‘#data’).find(‘iframe’).contents().find(‘html’) I achieved this in chrome by setting these features when it is initializing.
options.AddArguments("--allow-file-access-from-files"); options.AddArguments("--disable-web-security");
Now I need to do this in Firefox. I followed instructions in this URL. But that is not working.
about:config -> security.fileuri.strict_origin_policy -> false
I haven't got what I expected using above edits. Error was Permission denied to access property 'document'
There should be way to achieve this. I am using Firefox 29.0.1

According to Mozilla Support page, this permission allows the extension to read information I enter into website like username and password. How is this not a breach of privacy? I am talking about add-ons and extensions like ad-blocker and many video downloaders.

Hi
I am having the typical "This Connection is Untrusted" message visiting a website.
When clicking in technical details, instead of having the button "Add exception", i have this message
XXXXX uses an invalid security certificate.
The certificate is not trusted because the issuer certificate is unknown.
(Error code: sec_error_unknown_issuer)
How can i do to trust this certificate? I have tried to add an exception, as explained in different threads, but still not working
Thanks
Passwords get saved without asking for option if I do want to save the password for this site or not. So passwords for sites that I dont want saved are saved.

I am using Firefox version 28. I have ticked the option to save passwords and am using a Master password to save and protect all passwords. Of late, I have noticed that whenever a site is opened and a password is input, Firefox just saves it, without giving me the popup option of ** IF I WANT TO SAVE THE PASSWORD FOR THIS SITE OR NOT**. This is proving to be a big problem because there are sites where I do not want the passwords to be saved but since I do not get the popup option, the password get saved. I would appreciate your help in this regard.

Disable the "allow" button whenever I click to go to a new website.
Allow pops up on the address line and I often forget to click it and so nothing happens. It didn't use to be there and no other browser has it. I don't want it!

My Clear History settings are all checked, yet when I quit FF my history is not cleared. Additionally, FF hangs up and I must quit manually, but wouldn't expect manually quitting to overcome history settings.
After quitting whether manually or on the occasion FF does fulfill the quit command, I find I am able to restore the last session.
Is this a bug in FF, an incompatibility with MAC OS 10.6.8, or something else? I have not found my question answered sufficiently in the forum where a similar question was asked.

I brought up a site that I had been using, but got a security warning, asking if I wanted to make an exception. Because I have been using this site for advertising and was familiar with it, I made an exception, only to find out it kept giving me warnings for other pages on the site. This disturbed me and I would like to undo the security exceptions I have made, but don't know how to access this feature.

I just updated to Firefox 36.0. I was curious about the new "Hello" feature, so:
1) I clicked "Start a conversation". 2) As soon as it opened, I immediately closed the conversation and deleted it. 3) I also changed my status from the default "Available" to "Do Not Disturb".
About 30 minutes later, my camera turned on! I have no other application that would do this without consent; it has never happened before.
I hate to ditch Firefox, but this breach is too severe to overlook. I imagine it has equal control over the microphone.
