Entire screen taken over by what I think is a Bogus security alert. Claims to be Apple Platform Security - *** ACCESS TO THIS PC HAS BEEN BLOCKED*** ... it has been infected with a Trojan Spyware This is followed by phone numbers to "contact Mac Support - 1-833-798-2936— (plus another number)" I have contacted Apple and APPLE SAYS: they would never send such a notice. IMPORTANT: This only occurs on FIREFOX. It won't go away when I shut down or even if I erase and reload Firefox app. NOTE: It does NOT happen with Safari.

I do not and will not manually close my browser session every time I want to shut down my computer in order to get it to do what it's supposed to. Linux sends SIGTERM to all running processes on shutdown. Firefox isn't handling this correctly, obviously, because if it was, then my settings would be getting respected. SIGTERM is the standard signal sent to windows that need to close gracefully and are expected to still be functional.
NOTE: Do not provide windows-specific support to this thread. I am not running firefox on windows, and I do not possess a windows computer or license.

Hello Everyone.
I've been using Firefox for the longest time I can remember. I loved it. And I also have found the Firefox Account function quite convenient and useful. Also an avid fan. However, as of two months ago, I needed to re-install my Ubuntu OS on my laptop and of course Firefox as well. I enabled 2FA as I did before and it was a breeze. However, when I started using it (Account log-in/log-out) I keep getting asked to have the confirmation via my email and NOT via the 2FA app generated code I registered with it. At first, I still have the patience for it. But after several months, I am already pissed off. It's such an unbearable nuisance already, when I always have my 2FA app that I can always refer to in a snap. I really hate what's happening now. Can anybody please tell me what went wrong with Firefox 2FA account and why it keeps bugging me for email confirmation and not use the 2FA generated code? Makes me think all my efforts in setting the 2FA app useless and I've had enough already.
Thank you everyone for your help.

In my settings it says my settings are being managed by my organisation. I am not in an organisation.
I have changed my password onm sync so I presume everything is signed out everywhere but the message persists. Who has unauthorised access to my account and how did they get it? How do I secure my account?

Is it possible to turn off EVERY signle certificate check/verification in firefox?
In the past it was really easy just start with "--ignore-certificate-errors". Now it's like moon landing, all options are hidden or have under a hundrred layer option list. Anything in the "about:config" ? browser.ssl_override_behavior 1 security.ssl.enable_ocsp_stapling false
(Please do NOT comment its unsafe and other things, that's not what I'm looking for)

The message about the "Browser being managed by your organization" that shows up in Firefox settings, is new. I've been using Linux mint with Firefox for over a year on my own personal laptop and this message just showed up in my Firefox settings kind of out of the blue.. Can it be related to version 100? I was just trying to do something online. totally unrelated to the Firefox settings, and now I've spent a considerable amount of time trying to get rid of this policy. I tried to set the AppUpdate policy to true, but it still will not allow me to check for updates in the settings, or if I go under help, about. I do not use the laptop often, so this is the first time I've been unable to check for updates, and I would prefer not to have an enterprise security policy running on my personal laptop. I do not know how it came to be on the laptop but any help removing, or resetting the controls would be greatly appreciated.

First, Firefox has 2 twitter logins successfully stored in the password vault. When I go to Twitter the only suggestion for the login is "tulsa" and I have no idea where it's getting this. It will not auto fill in either of the 2 stored emails, not even if you begin typing them. I have to type them in manually and then when I submit it, the password is automatically typed into the next page.
Highlighting "tulsa" and not clicking or hitting enter and using the delete key does nothing.
This is really, really driving me nuts. Please help me.

When I am using Firefox with my Avast VPN I am often "denied access" to websites that accessible using other browsers such as Chrome? When I turn off the VPN with Firefox, access is given. What can I do to remedy this problem other than having to turn off the VPN? I doubt that it happens with the Mozilla VPN
I hope this is sufficiently clear. I have Firefox 101.0.1. My OS is Mac OS 12.3.1 [Email address]

This isn't a question about the "Multi-Account Containers" addons, I am pretty sure that there was a section called "Container tabs" in the privacy and security settings, and I could use containers without installing an addon some days ago.
I can still access by directly viewing this address
about:preferences#containers
But I can't find it in the settings, and this feature does no longer work.
So I went to read recent release notes from Firefox 100 to 101.0.1, but I didn't find any notes to say this feature has been disabled. Could this be an unexpected result of an update?

When I ask WordPress to "preview in new tab," I get a File Not Found screen. (See uploaded image.) This works fine in Chrome (which I rarely use) but not in Firefox, so I'm thinking it might be a Firefox issue. The Tablet and Mobile previews work fine, but they don't require a new tab. I thought it might have to do with pop-ups, so I made my blog's URL an exception. That didn't help. Then I disabled the pop-up blocker altogether. That didn't help either. I've never had this problem before although I've been using both Firefox and WordPress for many years. I'm working on an old laptop (current one is kaput), but I think everything's up to date. Windows 10. Any idea what the problem might be? TIA for any help. This is driving me nuts!
I have been using webmail@bell.net safely for years; Firefox now labels it unsafe and doesn't allow me to access it???

I have a website stored in the popup exceptions. Yet every time I go to that website, Firefox blocks the popup, despite the fact that the URL/URI stored in the settings is EXACTLY the same as the URL/URI of the website being visited.
I then have to press 'allow' every time. Is there any workaround for this please ?
Also, I used to be able to download a PDF from sites directly, but now it goes to view the PDF and then I have to use the 'download' button. Surely there is a fix for this ?

I have two user accounts on my laptop. I recently changed the password for one account and I'm now locked out. All my data is in this account. I don't have any back-up keys etc. I have tried changing my Windows password, but this doesn't seem to work. Is there any way of finding my previous password, or re-setting my current one without losing my data?
