We have one application where we have java applet program to select and upload file form the desktop to the server. While pressing first time "SELECT FILES" button, it works fine, but for the second time it crashes. I tried finding issue with my code but it is working fine on all other browser. I recently noticed a new pocket button in nightly, and I was wondering what this is. From bugzilla, it seems there is a project to integrate pocket with firefox, but I have a few questions about it:
- why is this being done/why is it replacing the (now unavailable) firefox reading list?
- Is mozilla being compensated by pocket or anyone else for this?
- Who stores the data: mozilla, pocket, or someone else?
- is there an option to disable this?
Thanks!

Since updating to Firefox 40.0 (in OS X 10.9.5) browser windows and the toolbar show strange black lines and squares when the window is resized. Websites are messed up with black backgrounds or disappear beneath a black layer. The toolbar often disappears too, except for the three Mac resize buttons. It renders Firefox completely unusable.
It’s similar to what is described here: https://support.mozilla.org/nl/questions/1071126 and the bug described here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1032769
None of the offered solutions or workarounds seems to help. Disabling all add-ons and extensions doesn’t help either. I only use the Default theme.
Solution To my own surprise the issue disappeared completely when I installed and started to use another theme (Simple White)…
So it seems that Firefox’s Default theme has a serious bug?

The issue I have experienced has been that each time I click on the "resend" option for a confirmation link to verify my sync account, I get a drop-down pop-up that says Firefox can't send a verification at this time. I've restarted the program, restarted the computer and the program, etc. I have clicked on the option to resend the link for account verification aprox. 24 times over the last week to make sure the service wasn' just temporarily down for an update or something of the like. I am using Firefox 41.0.1. I will add screenshots when the popup for resending a confirmation link comes up.

When I go to the Canadian mint website (mint.ca), I get there and see the general information and offerings;however, when I press the "log in" button, nothing happens...the circle keeps turning (forever). This problem started ~3-4 months ago. Previously, Firefox worked flawlessly for years. I kept my Firefox up-to-date and have minimal add-ons. As a trial, I tried using Safari and it worked.

This has been going on for longer than I should have let it. For the record, I have tried going into Safe Mode but it didn't fix the issue. The crashes that I receive are random. I can be watching a video or I can just be reading something on a forum, regardless the browser crashes. I had a Java Applet plugin that was out of date so I also tried disabling that but I still had the crashes. Any help would be greatly appreciated, here are a couple of my crash reports.

Recently, I have been checking the Activity Monitor on all of our macs, just to see what apps were taking the most power out of all of them. Since yesterday, whenever we start up Firefox, the Activity Monitor shows something called "Firefox Web Content" below Firefox. Is this normal? Below is a screen shot of what we are seeing.

The awesome bar's list of completion suggestions is displayed on top of all windows, not just the Firefox window. This causes problems if the spinning beach ball appears while suggestions are being displayed.
When the spinning beach ball appears (as it is often wont to do) while the awesome bar's list of completion suggestions is displayed, Firefox becomes unresponsive and I am unable to switch to another application to continue working. Or, more specifically, I can switch to another application but Firefox's list of completion suggestions covers up the top half of the screen and hides all other application windows. This effectively blocks me from using any other application while Firefox remains in "beach ball mode".
The only recourse is wait until Firefox becomes responsive again, or kill Firefox. (Thankfully, the Force Quit window still is accessible even in this situation.)
I believe this is a change to version 48 as I don't recall running into this problem with earlier versions. Based on my memory, when this happened I could still switch to another application and continue working. Firefox's list of completion suggestions did not hide any application window other than the non-responsive Firefox window. I could continue working in another application and when Firefox became responsive again, I could switch back it.
I am switching back to Firefox version 47 for now but am looking for a workaround in version 48 so I can move up to the latest version.

Starting yesterday when I turn on my computer, or after it has been in use for some hours, totally unexpectedly, unasked for, suddenly a commercial comes on, a speaking voice with background music - it can interrupt whatever is already going on, is not identified in any way, no accompanying images, and therefore of course how can I get rid of it?

I'm using a Mac (OSX 10.9.5 Mavericks), and just updated to the latest version of Firefox: 49.0.2. However, every time I start Firefox, I get a prompt telling me to restart to update to the latest version (which happens to be 49.0.2). Even after clicking the "Restart" button in the prompt, it just restarts then immediately tells me to restart again.
The odd thing is, I have another user account on this machine where that is not happening. That account is using 49.0.2 and does not receive the update prompt.

Every time I try and post on Facebook Firefox CRASHES the tab. >:( It's been doing it for 2 versions now. I hoped the last update would help but if anything it made it worse. It went from 'laggy' to CRASH the tab. I use Facebook a lot and this is not okay. Disabling plugins doesn't help. I have also gotten a lot of overall 'Firefox crashed' reports lately.
This used to be a great browser, what is going on here?

On lots of websites text appear as an 'A' in a box (see screenshot - i've blurred some content due to privacy). I've gone through my preferences and checked 'Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of your selections above'. When I uncheck this box using my font selections things display fine however when I check it I get this problem. I'm a web developer so I can't override site fonts, I need them to display as intended. I've checked Chrome and Safari on my machine and they are fine so this problem is isolated to FireFox. I've tried restarting FF in safe mode but it made no difference, I went to the config page and changed network and gfx references back to 'reset' and again it doesn't make a difference.
System details: FF = 56.0 (64 bit) OSX = 10.9.5
