I'm running Firefox 144.0.2 (64-bit) on a Mac using Sequoia 15.4.1 OS.

At the most recent Firefox update, I added VPN.

Since then, I've had a problem with Firefox hanging. Not immediately but after varying amounts of time, 20-60 minutes. I get an "Out of Application Memory" pop-up but the usage for both Firefox and other elements are well within normal range, not high. It's completely frozen and the only way out is to do a Force Quit.

There are times when doing a shut down I notice that VPN has somehow been turned Off and once I saw a message of Background Service Error attached to it.

Having to constantly re-start Firefox is a major pain. Oh-- I did turn off the background AI thing under Tabs. I hate AI and try to turn it off everywhere I find it. A resource suck and bad for the planet.

Any help appreciated.

when i try go log in on certain sites i keep getting a message asking for a fingerprint my computer doesn't have a finger print and i have no clue what it is asking for.

I am on a Mac OS 15.6.1 -- 24GB of RAM. I have noticed multiple page hangs -- request to stop with AWS web console. To the point, that I have gone back to Chrome where I do NOT have these hangs. So, I suspect something has changed, but it makes the FF browser unusable. Something you should look at at. Happy to help if I can, but my time is limited.

Hi, after latest update just now, the browsers uses up to 45gb of ram within a few minutes! Not sure what it is, I am on MACOS Sequia Version 15.6.1 (24G90) macbook pro M1

I've blocked access to nearby devices without knowing that this would affect my local network websites. Now the option to change this on the settings simply does not appear for me. What can I do?

Hello, I reinstalled Firefox and am unable to recover my bookmarks and other data. Before the re-installation, I manually backed up my data, but when I try to restore from the backup, it does not work. All my bookmarks and previous data are still missing. How can I fix this and recover my information?

Reader view doesn't work on many Lifehacker pages/articles. Can something be done to make it work on those pages? Here's an example:

Recently, whenever i have to quit firefox, my tabs have all disappeared upon opening. I have tried all the suggestions in the Mozilla help and nothing seems to work. This used to happen from time to time which was frustrating but now it happens every time I need to quit firefox. "Recently closed tabs" and "recently closed windows" are greyed out when I try to use that. and there is nothing in "restore previous history". Thank you for your help.

My Firefox account is linked to both my Android phone and my Mac. However, I’ve noticed that some browsing history entries available on my Android phone do not appear on my Mac. Most likely, these visits were recorded before I connected my Firefox account to my Android device.

Both devices are running the latest version of Firefox, and sync is fully enabled. I also manually triggered a sync just a moment ago.

Could you please let me know how I can import or sync my existing browsing history from my Android phone to my Mac at this point?

Please see an example attachted. I have more like it.

I recently installed a new add-on in Firefox — the one that allows you to create different profiles with individual names and colors in the browser.

After the installation and a subsequent restart of my MacBook Pro, my previously open session windows were not automatically restored when starting Firefox as usual. Instead, a message appeared asking whether I wanted to “restore all session windows.” I clicked “Yes,” but none of my previous windows opened.

Since then, my saved passwords and bookmarks also seem to have disappeared. I suspect that my previous profile may have been overwritten or that a new profile was created.

Could you please let me know if and how I can restore my previous sessions, bookmarks, and passwords? Is there perhaps a way to access my data through a backup or via the sessionstore.jsonlz4 file or an older Firefox profile?

Hello, Having some issues with two websites that don't load correctly. Can you help me with this ? It has been going on for a while withe my car brand website configuration page so I have to use Safari for that, but today it happened with my bank website. Docusign does not work through Firefox anymore. However , it does work with other browsers. I have emptied my Cache and deleted and reinstalled Firefox with no luck. Any suggestions?

Using Firefox on Mac (iOS 15.6.1) - restarted Firefox for updates and it's deleted ALL my bookmarks - what the hell? Everything gone from the toolbar, but I can still see them on my phone?

(This is the last straw of a string of bad experiences with Firefox - I think I'm switching to Chrome if there's no easy solution!)

Hello. My macBook recently died. I was signed into Firefox, so my tabs should have saved. I tried to open / upload them onto my new iMac desktop. But for some reason it only keeps wanting to mirror the open tabs on my iPad, which is not what I want. I want to resurrect the tabs open on my macBook before it died. How do I best do this please? When I close a tab that had a video playing, the picture-in-picture box will stay there after I close the tab. The picture is just a white box. The controls are there, but when I click on any button, nothing happens. I can only move the box around and resize it. It usually happens when I close the tab while the video is playing, but sometimes it happens when I close the tab and the video is paused. It happens on videos that were in a picture-in-picture box and videos that weren't. I go into setting and disable picture-in-picture which will stop new picture-in-picture boxes, but won't get rid of the white box. The only way to get rid of the white box is to close FireFox completely and then reopen it.

OK, I am a heavy user of tab groups in Firefox (glad to get off Chrome once this was available). Unfortunately, Bookmark All Tabs only saves the open tabs in my Firefox window. It Does Not save anything inside a tab group that isn't opened - AND it doesn't save any of the tab group structure - ex. the group, what is inside it, etc.

IS there some way to properly save all the tab information (groups and tabs inside those groups) in Firefox? There is in Chrome by the way. IF there isn't, has someone out there produced an extension to do this??

Seems like a big oversight in the intro of tab groups if there is really no way to do this...

I do the Bookmark All Tabs for backup and have needed it many times in my Chrome past usage.

After recent macOS updates, it appears that Firefox would get stuck when trying to access passkeys stored in macOS's passwords or keychain apps. I run into this issue with both the following two combinations of Firefox versions and macOS

144.0.2 on macOS 26.0 Tahoe

140.4.0esr (aarch64) on macOS 15.7 Sequoia

Any insight is appreciated!

I use Firefox and I like Firefox and I appreciate what you do there & at Mozilla. But one thing really irks me!

On the homepage, the icons for the various sites I frequently visit are displayed. They change from time to time, depending on how often I sign into my favorite sites.

But I get the sense this system is being manipulated in a way that doesn't serve the interest of your customers/users. Besides my email account, there is one site I go to more often than any other: the Genealogy website "Myheritage.com." Yes as often as I visit this website, its icon is never added to the display of my frequently used sites.

For some years I frequented the site Ancestry.com. But I stopped using them because Myheritage is better for my purposes (exploring Eastern Europe genealogy). Ancestry was removed from my most frequent list, but Myheritage has never been added.

This is fishy. What is going on? Paul Schneider
