When I click on a "mailto" link, Firefox (my default browser) opens a new tab, then immediately close that tab without waiting for my to interact with it. No draft email is created. I see that other users have reported this behavior in the past, and I've tried the suggested remedies without success. Specifically, I ran Malwarebytes, and it found no threats. I then started Firefox (on the Mac) via the Option key (to start it without ad-ons), and that does not change the behavior. I'm on ver 99.0.1 of FF, which is up to date as of 4/20/2022 (today). My Mac OS is also up to date (ver 12.3.1). My Mac is a 2021 MacBookPro with the Apple M1 Pro chip. I use gmail. OTHER BROWSER (like Safari and Chrome) can open "mailto" links in a new tab in FF (which is my default browser, and used for mailto links) just fine! Hi Guys,

For a couple of weeks now, and since the last update (102.0.1 64-bit), my Firefox displays odd characters in some pages and in all emails.

This issue doesn't happen in safari or Chrome.

I've cleared all cookies, and browsing data multiple times and re-installed Firefox and the issue comes back every time.

Running Firefox 98.0.2 (64-bit) Mac OS Monterey 12.2.1 (21D62)

Many websites are not loading at all or taking many minutes to load (bankofamerica.com, maps.google.com, etc.) Maps.google.com does not even load on Firefox.

Usually indicates 'waiting for fonts.google.' in the lower left hand corner, but site never loads. This is happening more frequently, on more and more websites.

Google Chrome has 0 issues loading the same websites. Firefox specific issue independent of ISP. Tried restarting, updating, etc. No luck.

I have a user who runs SRS/Crystal Reports on their Windows 11 Lenovo laptop, but every time we go to the website where a Java-enabled pop-up window for viewing spreadsheets is supposed to load we keep getting a "A plugin is required to play this content" error message, but no option to install/approve the running of Javascript.

I have downloaded and installed the JRE and JDK on the endpoint device, but still no luck getting Firefox to load it. I am running the 32-bit version of the web browser, not 64-bit, so I am kind of stumped about how to proceed from here.

Is there a place I can manually download/install these Java plug-ins?

When I try and open some articles on the BBC new wesite I get the attached message. How can that be resolved please? VPN is off. Is there a way to always show the tab close button on the tabs? Or perhaps to show the button on hover of the tab? Chrome does this and I find that very helpful, in cases where I want to close a tab and do not want to re-open that page.

Some context: When you have many tabs open (I know, who does that?) and you want to close some of them, but do not want to select those tabs, currently you can right-click and scroll through the menu to the `Close Tab` option. This is slow and a bit clunky. The `Close Tab` menu option is buried in the bottom-middle of the list.

This issue is somewhat complicated by the fact that I use the excellent Auto-Tab Discard extension to discard/sleep tabs. (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/auto-tab-discard/) So when a tab is discarded, and you click on it, the tab reloads. Which is silly when you just want to close it.

Anyone aware of a way to always show the close-tab button, or show on hover?

When entering a local domain in the URL bar Firefox sends the request to a search engine instead of the DNS server. How can I stop this behaviour and switch back to how it was before?

Whenever I use Firefox, I end up seeing popups (necessary for school) and would like to show them as tabs so I can merge them into other windows. I have tried the solutions given in: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1080255 and nothing seemed to work. Is there another way to make sure that popup windows cannot hide the toolbar and show tabs?

I have tried disabling add-ons/ exensions, disabling auto-fill, downgrading security, reinstalling (even the ESR edition), deleting Firefox files from the library/application_support - but it doesn't simply work. Not sure if this is an OS issue.

Any ideas would really help. Getting the below info on the about:crashes each time:

My macbook is a 2019 16", running Monterey 12.3.1, and has the touch ID sensor on the top right of the keyboard. I love having it for all my log-ins, but can only make it work in Safari. When I look online I'm told to go into settings> privacy > and then just choose the toggle to turn it on. My version of Firefox (which says it's up to date) does not have that option in the Privacy and Security section of settings. Any thoughts? I'd rather use Firefox than Safari, but that is a HUGE feature to me. Thanks!

Firefox has my credit card information and it shows up in a window when I go to pay for something, but when I click on the credit card I want to pay with, it won't autofill. In Settings, the box to autofill is checked. This has worked a hundred times before, but stopped working a few months ago. Also, I've checked the 2 relevant items in about:config an they are enabled. How do I get the autofill to start working again?

the certificate on my linksys lrt 214 router not recognized. used to be able with previous versions to bypass security with advanced tab no longer able to do this cannot use older versions of firefox to bypass. need to access web interface of router at 192.168.1.1 to upgrade certificate but cannot. linksys does not have a work around. please help

and not only that, when I click on sign in - it shows me a work email address that I rarely use - not my Firefox account / main email. I have to click NEXT then change email address from the drop down menu. I followed the setting attached. but it's still does it. I close Google tab, then go back and im signed out again! It's extremely annoying. How on earth can I fix this?

With the upgrade to Firefox 106 on Mac, Private browsing windows open with a dark theme by default. How do I enable the light theme for Private browsing windows?

I use Private browsing at work for website testing, and the dark themed tabs / UI are much harder to read and use than with a light theme.

The Firefox desktop browser default font is replacing all fonts on some websites, only title fonts on some others, and then leaving others unchanged. It seems random, and I can't stop the default font from taking over randomly on most websites no matter what I do. This was not happening until today, and no browsers or general MacBook Air preferences were changed between today and yesterday when I last used the browser on desktop.

Under Firefox Preferences » Fonts » Advanced, I've made sure to check the box to "Allow pages to choose their own fonts instead of your selections above", and I've unchecked it, and I've re-checked it, and the default is still overriding fonts on most websites.

I've quit and restarted Firefox 3 times.

I'm on the latest version of Firefox, 106.1, and I'm missing the Firefox View button on my MacBook Pro 13". It is showing on my Mac Mini M1, and both are logged in and syncing properly using my Firefox account.

When I type in about:firefoxview on my MacBook Pro in the URL bar, I see the page but noticed it says "New colorways are on the way" on the right. On my Mac Mini, I see the "Independent Voices" text and an option to "Try colorways".

Bug? Some weird setting on my MacBook? Both are running macOS Monterey, 12.6.

The issues I am facing with outlook mail seems to have occurred within the last 3 months. I have used outlook in Chrome and there is no issue. I have gone to the Microsoft site and there are several complaints that Outlook is not usable with Firefox. On my company machine, I limit my personal email to Firefox.

Other web pages seem to be fine, just outlook mail. I use Firefox for most of my testing & personal and Chrome for corporate browsing.

The issues start occurring after about 5 min, within the last month. I am a MacOS user and I have v.104. The issues face range from not limited emails listed, missing icons, javaScript drop-downs not working, not being able to delete emails, not being able to restore emails.

When I refresh the page, more recently Outlook crashes. My cache for Outlook is around 13-14Mb. When I clear the cache, things are fine for about 5-10 min. I have installed Z-Scaler proxy root CA certificate in Firefox for enabling SSL inspection. It works fine for most websites, but for google.com and a few others I get every day a certificate invalid/not trusted error and I have to restart Firefox to get the error to go away. Any ideas of what I can do to improve this behaviour? Any configuration I missed?

It's very similar issue to https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1199797, except that when I restart Firefox it works.
