Over the last week or so my Firefox seems to be dying about once per day. It just slows to a crawl, and then stops responding entirely and I have to use task manager to kill it. When I look in task manager it's taking up as much as 30% of my system resources, despite only having 4 tabs open at any given time. I've tried both refreshing and uninstalling Firefox, and neither has solved the problem. When I looked at the health report, I noticed something that's confusing me, namely the amount of add-ons and extensions it claims I have running. It claims that there are 7 extensions running, but there are only 3 listed on my add-ons manager, all of which I installed manually, which is making me wonder if there are 4 somehow hidden extensions that are causing me problems, and don't go away when I remove or refresh Firefox. Is there any way that I could figure out what these might be or get someone from Mozilla to take a look and see if they can figure out what's going on?

I have tried Chrome, Waterfox, Mozilla 64-bit, 32-bit.. uninstalled Flash, reinstalled Microsoft Windows... refreshed FireFox, cleaned out ALL folders of Mozilla Firefox, cleared out extensions. No matter what I do, FireFox lags on my PC.

That used to happen for years. About 2 months ago Firefox began opening with a 'restored' (i.e. not maximised) window. For a few days in the last fortnight it resumed opening maximised. Now it is opening with a 'restored' window which is wider and shorter than the size used previously.

The localstore.rdf file is dated 09 May 2014.

I have a .p12 certificate file that identifies me with my bank for online banking. After upgrading to FF50 the identification does not work, as the certificate has disappeared and I can not import it again. What shall I do?

All of a sudden when I start Firefox I get a white screen, and the wheel just spins and spins. It never connects to the internet, while other programs like Internet Explorer connect just fine. I never get an error message along the lines "website not found" or anything like that: it just spins its wheels forever.

After some research here I found the Troubleshooting page and tried the "Restart with Add-ons Disabled." This did not work. Then I tried the "Refresh" button, and that _did_ work, but only for that session. The next time I started Firefox I was back to the problem described in the first paragraph.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Same deal. I did more research and found the Add-ons and Extensions page. I deleted a couple extensions flagged in red by virtue of uninstalling their parent programs and guess what? Same deal! Aaaargh! This is driving me nuts.

How can I get a totally clean reinstall, preserving my bookmarks. Any help appreciated.

Hi.....am trying out Firefox as a browser. The two finger trackpad swipe that works in Safari does not work in Firefox. I am running Firefox version, 50.1.0 and my system is OS 10.9.5....I am pretty computer savvy but cannot figure this one out and thought I would ask for help from mozilla...thanks in advance... Since Firefox 5.0 I think i can't disable plashplayer anymore. The setting is still set to "ask to activate" but wen I enter a site with flash content it is played right away it doesn't ask anymore.

How do I fix this? So Flash is not started automatically anymore?

The HTML5 player controls will hide itself after a few seconds when a video starts to play either from clicking a YouTube video link or when the video is resumed from pause. However, the controls will remain visible as long as the video is paused. The controls are quite obstructive due to certain moments when I need to pause to see a certain thing in the video in a very short time-frame but got covered by the player controls and disappears when resume playback. So, how do I make the HTML5 player controls to also auto-hide a few seconds after the video is paused or instantly hides when the mouse is outside the player area?

Authentication pop up window is not displaying the buttons to submit or cancel credential submission. Keyboard still works, but the pop up window is frame is smaller than the content of the window.

When I want to download a file I navigate to the folder where I want the file to be saved, and hit "Save", it opens the folder at the top of the list, instead of just saving the file. I do not have the folder selected, and if I did I should have an "Open" or "Open Folder" button.

It finally saves the file when I am in a directory without sub-folders. Not only is it annoying, but if I am in a directory with a deep folder structure, I can hit save quite a bit until it finally saves. then of course I have to go through the hassle of opening my file manager and relocate the download to where I want it.

This problem started within the last 12 hours or less.

Firefox works except there is no sound. I have refreshed it, tried safe mode, checked plug-ins and everything else that the

  Firefox advice gives but still cannot find the off and on switch.  The other browsers work fine.

The yahoo mail page appears as normal but the buttons at the top are missing and i cant open any emails even though the recent emails are there right in front of me. Have tried everything I can but its always the same. Works fine on Chrome so Im using that but I liked Firefox.

My Firefox Zoom is set to 100%, however when viewing websites the actual zoom appears to be 150%. This came up when testing a new website that was not displaying correctly. We tested with another browser and all websites displayed correctly at 100% (used same computer for all tests).

Zoom was used a few weeks ago up to 150%, is it possible that although it says it is now 100% that it is in fact not updating correctly. If I change Zoom level now it appears to function OK except that the 100% display is very different compared to other browsers, it appears as 150% compared to the other browsers.
