I 'refreshed' Firefox, and when I tried to add the iCloud bookmarks add-on extension back, I'm getting a 'not found' page when I try to go to the download page: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/icloud-bookmarks/

This happens both when I google 'iCloud bookmarks for Firefox' and also when I click on the link within iCloud itself. I checked the cached version of the page and it was there as recently as yesterday.

Just installed FF46 on a Kubuntu system this morning. All my context/popup/hover menus have changed to Black text (on original dark background).

How can I change text color to White as it was up to FF46??

I have tried to take a snapshot but it is impossible since I need the mouse to select and the hover menus dissapear as soon as I move the mouse. Catch 22. (edit: found a way to get screenshot)

here's my question. I use Firefox for a very very long time (the 1st I had was Firefox 2). I use to customize search engines (for example change "searching videos with Youtube" to "Youtube" (I know it's a little detail but that's the way I am). To customize or add search engines, there was a searchplugins folder, with xml files I could edit.

Now it doesn't work anymore. I couldn't find on the different forums the answer to my question. Some talk about a search.sqlite file, but I can't find it.

So please could you tell me where the searchengines are now located on the firefox installation, on a windows computer and on a linux distribution.

I am in need of a history recovery for a specific date (March 19th 2016). I managed to find the sites on that specific date but when I clicked on them to view them, they get deleted. How can I bring them back? I need the full list again.

I use Facebook every day via this PC (Windows 10 & Firefox). . but as of yesterday the site started appearing as shown in the attached clip of a small section of the screen. I guess what's happening is the encrypted page is not being decrypted. .but why and how do I get it working again ? btw, I have no problem viewing the same web site (Facebook) on my Android device (Facebook app) and on my Windows 7 laptop, also via Firefox.

I can print to PDF from Print Preview but when doing it directly from the File menu it doesn't work. I get a "Save Document as PDF dialog, but after entering a file name and clicking Save it goes away without saving the file or presenting an error message. Thoughts?

When I open a link from another application and I am using Private Mode in Firefox -- and the private window is the most recent active window in Firefox -- how can I make firefox open the link in the private window?

To clarify by example: Firefox is my default browser. I am browsing in private mode and I want to open links from an email in my OS's mail client so they open in the private window (ideally in a new tab in the private window), not a non-private window. At the moment, external links open in a non-private window no matter what.

There was a time that Firefox would do this, but it does not do it any more. I think I may have killed this function the last time I reset Firefox. Is it possible that I had changed a setting in about:config to make Firefox behave how I want it to? If so, which setting is it!

FWW. I have tried changing the following preferences in about:config with no success:

browser.link.open_newwindow.overtide.external browser.link.open_newwindow.restriction

I've also found something like this mentioned in bug reports, but I'm not sure if I understand the resolution. If I do, then the resolution is that opening in a non-private window no matter what is intentional and there is no desire to add an option to change this behavior in Firefox. However, what seems to be missing from these reports is the fact that the Private window is the active window. It seems to me that links should always open in the active window, even if the active window is a private window, if the browser is commanded to do so. Otherwise, the browser is not behaving as expected.

Technical info:

Mac OS 10.11.4 Firefox 46.0b11 (yes, the beta channel)

Whenever I try to set it as my default via the options, nothing happens, aside from it ticking the "Always check if Firefox is your default browser" box. I tried every method on here, and on other forums and nothing has worked. I cannot make it my default browser via the 'set default programs' method because Firefox does not appear there, and, again, I found no answer that helped me add it to that list.

I have my Bookmarks Toolbar set to show along the top of the browser.

Lately, I have noticed that some of the icons that I have bookmarked and inserted here are grey circular icons that look like a globe.

Other icons are what I want them to be, ie in color and the logo for the site I have bookmarked.

When I drag a new site or copy and paste a new site to my Bookmarks Toolbar, some icons are in color, and some are the grey circle that I describe.

What can I do to solve this problem?

Every time I attempt to upload or download a file to or from Firefox, it crashes. I believe the problem began when I downloaded MS Office 2016 which happened to coincide with when I downloaded the latest FF version.

Things I have done: -Updated to latest Java (as per suggests in similar questions)

-Updated to latest Adobe Flash (as per suggests in similar questions)

-Repaired MS Office 2016

-Uninstalled MS Office 2010 (which was already installed when I installed '16)

-Adjusted file settings to NOT automatically expand (as per suggests in similar questions)

-Restarted Firefox with add ons disabled (as per suggests in similar questions)

-Restarted Computer in Safemode to replicate problem (with networking) (as per suggests in similar questions)

-Reset Firefox user settings

-Downloaded CCleaner, Cleaned Firefox.

-Uninstalled and Reinstalled Firefox (twice) (deleted lingering user files the second time) (which subsequently wiped out my crash reports, I will edit this later when I replicate crash and have a citeable crash report).

The problem still persists.

The problem does not seem to affect Internet Explorer. The problem does not exist on my laptop Firefox (which can upload/download files just fine, laptop does not have MS Office Installed).

In the crashing thread portion, one file that appears in red over again is something called "msoshext.dll".

Facebook will load for the login screen but regardless of who logs in the new page loads as nothing but random text and gibberish. Copy and pasted sample: ‡??䯟«þ÷çËz{Aê@Z1â:g̨“p?è& ±‰Žåıä_?¶ðßd?Ú?´·?U…%E?ü¾@v>Ã?ÿc8ñ?ØÔÂE-?½=¬âŠ³›Ý|Øx. The whole page is filled with endless gibberish as listed above. However using the default windows 10 internet explorer facebook will load just fine without any problems.

I have tried the following: -clearing cookies and cashe (and all history for Everything setting) -using the troubleshooting to refresh firefox -uninstalling and reinstalling firefox -attempted to run in safe mode -running with our internet security disabled (kaspersky)

None of those have made any difference. What is truely puzzling is the same event occurred a day before and a clear cookies and cashe followed by a system restart fixed it over night but it returned the next day.

Yesterday morning, Firefox was able to connect to the Schwab website, but later in the day, it wasn’t able to connect and still is unable to connect. When I open Firefox, the tab for Schwab normally shows a website page name for Schwab (i.e. Finance . . .) . . . now, it only shows the first and last three characters of the URL (htt . . . ome). When I click on the Schwab tab, the correct URL is shown, but the screen below the URL is all white. Doing a right click on “Reload Tab” doesn’t do anything. There are no error messages.

When I open Google Chrome, I have no problem connecting to the Schwab website. On my laptop, I also have no problem connecting to the Schwab website with either Firefox or Google Chrome. This would appear to be a problem with Firefox on my Desktop PC.

Any suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.

Why, when using standard google search do images appear at top of page then always disappear in 1 second (e.g. search for 'blenders'.

This does not happen in Chrome and has only been happening in Firefox in recent times.

Can't open any webpages, opening new tab doesn't allow webpage. Have uninstalled firefox, refreshed it, started in safe mode says woops & nothing. Luckily chrome works. This fault is on laptop only, PC with firefox is fine, which is I am using to ask question.

When i left-click in the vertical scroll bar area, the bar jumps right to the position where the mouse is at. If i right-click in the vertical scroll bar area the page srolls one page at a time. I want to reverse this.

So, i want: left click = jump one page down/up. right click = bar to mouse click position

Around April, Microsoft patched Cortana to no longer direct websearches to third party browsers. Now instead it directs to Edge and exclusively Bing.

I was wondering if there is a plan for a workaround for this search feature to be reenabled for Firefox or if all hope is lost.

I'm using Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:46.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/46.0 When I click on the red button and the i reopen firefox, it doesn't restore the previous tabs. I also check all the hints written here https://support.mozilla.org/it/questions/1084632. And now I cannot click on history/restore previous session but only restore closed tabs

Since the latest Firefox updates I cannot view videos on 'calgary.ctvnews.ca' . Firefox indicates that Adobe Flashplayer has to be updated and offers to download it. but Flashplayer is up-to-date and the new install does not help. Internet Explorer works fine as do earlier Firefox versions. Any suggestions?
