Everything was running completely fine in Firefox and then all of a sudden it simply stopped displaying .swf files. Where they should be is simply blank. On websites with a background I can see the background through where the .swf file should be. This includes opening locally saved files as well as every website with a .swf file that's supposed to play.
I do mean suddenly quite literally, as it was right in the middle of a browsing session. I changed nothing, just...one minute they were working fine, the next they completely halted. It's clear the program is recognizing that something's supposed to be there, as Adblock pops up a little "Block" tab over where the file should be, but again, that space is completely blank. It's not black, it's transparent.
I've completely uninstalled Shockwave and reinstalled it from scratch, and "updated" it three times now, all to no effect.

I don't know when this happened, but today I noticed that I cannot paste text into youtube comments on firefox. It still works just fine on Chrome. I tried to use an addon to copy plain text only, but that didn't help, nor have I ever needed it before.
Is this google's latest monopoly trick or something, or what is going on?

I have set FireFox to use a proxy(just the browser not my entire system) but there simply is no prompt for username and password in Preferences: Advanced: Network: Connection settings. Additionally, many times people bring up changes that need to made in about:config but either those preference names no longer exist or they have no effect on this issue.
Does anyone know how to get FireFox to prompt for username/password or where to find the login?

I am attempting to create a customized installation package for Mozilla Firefox v40.0.3.

I have performed a Custom installation of the browser (unchecked 'Install Maintenance Service' check-box).
After successful installation, copied the following files to the respective directories:
1. Copied 'local-settings.js' to 'C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\defaults\pref'

After performing these steps, when I attempt to launch firefox, it fails to launch at all. No errors are displayed. In Task manager, I noticed firefox.exe getting invoked but it exits within seconds.
What is the cause? Please help.

a couple hours ago it started to hang when downloading of a file completes. i've tested it in safe mode, i deleted the entire mozilla folder in appdata\roaming, i've cleared the entire history, cache, etc. i've cleared the windows temp folder. i've disabled my AV and still the issue is present.
this started a few hours ago. two days ago it was fine. i've encountered that issue a few versions before but i dont remember how i got rid of it.
it will even freeze when i open the 'all bookmarks' window.
what could possible start that behavior out of the blue?

I am having some issues using any google related websites. Sometimes when I try to perform a search on google, or load a video on youtube, it simply wont load anything. At first I tought I had internet issues, but I dont not. As soon as Firefox wont load Youtube or perform a search on google, if I try this at Chrome I can do it with no problems. So the problem is in Firefox, since at Chrome and IE there are no issues at all.
I have all my plugins updated on Firefox. Anyone could help me regarding this issue?

First, repeating my original issue: I have a Mac, OS 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard). I can access my Hotmail "Contacts" page using Safari, and at one point it seemed I could with Firefox. Now, I can still get to my Hotmail account with Firefox, but not my "Contacts" page. When I try to, I get this message:
"This page is temporarily unavailable. We're sorry, there was a problem showing this page. We experienced some technical difficulties retrieving the content."
Although I had my OS restored a few days ago, this problem may have existed before that, but I was using Safari, so I may not have noticed it.
Please use layman's terms--I am not tech savvy.
The response from Mozilla was to clear my cache and cookies, but they clear automatically when I exit Firefox. Then there was advice to start in Safe Mode--that sounds more like for a PC then a Mac. I had this very problem last year when I could access my contacts through Safari, but not Internet Explorer on my PC at work. After a few months, IE suddenly connected to my Hotmail contacts, WITHOUT MY DOING ANYTHING. COULD IT BE THAT THERE IS SOME KIND OF DISCONNECT BETWEEN FIREFOX AND HOTMAIL, THAT HAPPENS AFTER GET INTO MY HOTMAIL ACCOUNT, THAT WON'T LET ME GO TO MY ADDRESS BOOK? This has been happening for a couple of months now. Firefox has been crashing ever so often, and because it usually happens when flash content is being run; i.e., a video or a web game. Another reason that leads me to believe this is Flash is that before I had this problem, flash would eat up my CPU, and I would be peaking at 100%! Another problem that I am having right now: I can't have two Flash things actively running at the same time, or else Flash will crash, for example, a video and a game. Ads don't seem to crash Flash as often, but it will sometimes happen, especially if there is a lot of moving content. Anyways, you can look at some crash logs to try and figure out what is happening with my issues.

Updated to most current thinking it would be fixed. It doesn't happen if I use Safari. Apple support senior lead tried to resolve issues. Sorry, I'm not very technical. Tried shift, control,option start. Tried option, command,R,P start. Tried logging on as a new user. Tried so many options, I can't remember them all. Uninstalled, reinstalled,and uninstalled again. ran disk repair(?). Followed Firefox troubleshoot all the way to the end. Started in Safe Mode...everything. She told me to contact Mozilla to see if you had any answers to my issues. I also had issues last week with Firefox crashing 3-4 times in a row while watching youtube. I sent reports to Firefox. I hope someone can help me. I prefer Firefox to Safari! Thank you!

We have discovered an odd issue with Mozilla (several current versions tested) and one of our websites. There is a two stage login - username & password followed by eg mothers maiden name on subsequent page
When a new instance of firefox is opened then on completing the login answers the user is immediately returned back to the login page with a 'your session has timed out' message - basically our software returns our timeout page. If, on the same page you then login again everything is fine. If you close your window and open a new one then the problem occurs again. This is not cache related as I have done a lot of testing which almost certainly eliminates that.
Could anybody please offer further ideas? The site is https I have after googling tried a couple of random things like adding the site to exceptions list but no change. I have used developer console to follow the network calls and without a massive analysis, things seem to be correct.
I have tested in safe mode also so it is not related to extensions or add ins

I see this error when launching Firefox (39.0.3, but it also (at least) occurs in 40.0.3 - can be replicated on multiple machines) but ONLY when 1) Crystal Reports is installed AND 2) Symantec DLP is installed. Firefox and Crystal Reports or Firefox and DLP alone do not cause the error, only the presence of all 3 apps. Launching Firefox in safe mode does not display the error, nor does restarting Firefox (as in disabling/enabling a plugin and being prompted to restart). O/S is Windows 7, 64-bit. Hello, so the crashes had not been as frequent, but I've noticed the weekly crashes occur, and with the reports having similar IDs, I figure there's still something else I'm doing wrong. I've attached the ID for the latest crash and hope to hear something soon. I've already gone through uninstalling-reinstalling my browser and updating my plugins to try to prevent crashes. If there are new suggestions, I'm open to them.

Using a new install of Mozilla Firefox - navigating to http://www.samenasquares.org/club-photos - you see the slideshow box but without the slideshow pictures with message "A plugin is needed to display this content". Any suggestions for the plugin needed? The slideshow is based on Picasa photos on a Google photo site.

As of early this afternoon (Tuesday, September 15th, 2015) my Firefox browser has been acting odd and hanging over and over on sites that mainly use HTML5, such as Youtube. As far as I can tell, no-one else has encountered this specific behavior before using the latest version of Firefox. The hangs persist even in safe mode, and I am certain that my addons are not causing the issue. I have tried refreshing Firefox, updating my graphics drivers, and even updating Flash, but nothing is changing.

FaceBook won't completely load. No problems until last update from FireFox. Any solutions ?
I may have 2-3 articles show and then it saying connecting and spins. Nothing, just spins forever. I don't have the problem if I switch to IE.
