Nothing I've tried in the past *year* has been able to prevent this, so it's gone through a few revs without fixing. Even restarting FF every half-hour does nothing to help the problem if a background instance began running 31 minutes ago.

I have read the thread about the blank screen in Windows 10 after awaking from sleep, but I am experiencing the problem even when the computer is always awake. This was an in-place upgrade from Windows 7 and it is the only problem that I have encountered. The system has an Ivy Bridge motherboard with a Core i7 4770K processor, 8 gb of ram. Video is a Radeon HD 7850. I am running the current version of Firefox and have the newest video driver. If I have Firefox open and walk away for a few minutes, I frequently come back to find the window blank. I can click on the upper right corner and close the window and everything is OK on restart of Firefox, at least until it goes blank again. Turning off hardware acceleration hasn't seemed to work for others.

I need to remove a password from a site. The button to change password exceptions does not work for me. No of the buttons will in the security section will let me click on them. I have reloaded the page and nothing. They stay gray.

I keep asking the question I get a page that shows 6 others have asked the very same question . they have all gotten replies . Where do I find the replies? where are the answers to my question and theirs I have wasted over an hour just trying to find out Why there are no dates and times in the history library? Answer thi question so I can stop searching and asking for the answer to the question I actually am looking for!! ??

Toshiba laptop: I just upgraded to Windows 10 and Flash 18.0.0.232 crashes repeatedly. Switched hardware acceleration off in Flash settings but no improvement. Having to use Edge to get Duolingo to work. Help please?

Ever since I upgraded to Windows 10, my Firefox browser keeps crashing with the message Adobe Flash Player Plug In has crashed. I have and have reinstalled the latest versions of Firefox and Adobe Flash Player. The crashes are constant and are making it extremely difficult to use Firefox as my browser. Neither Adobe Flash Player nor Firefox seem to have a solution.

I was unable to find a way to register for the Mozilla forums, which is very strange! I took the advice of a comment and asked a question of the forum, which required that I first register. So here I am. The comment, of course, is that it should be easy to register from the Log In screen, which is also named "Log In /Register." I'm all set now, thank you.

I've had these extensions installed since February 2015 when I purchased my new computer. They've always worked fine, but this morning I noticed they each say, "McAfee WebAdvisor/Skype Click to Call/Yahoo Toolbar could not be verified for use in Firefox. Proceed with caution." All of theses extensions were download from their respective websites. Should I be concerned about this?

using firefox 40.0, as stated above i start typing in a bookmark and get no type down suggestions or autocomplete options. Interesting things i have done, 1: restarted browser w/ all plugins disabled. then turned them back on. Also noticed that i seem to have to make a change to the new gooey clicky preferences interface, to make a change persistent between browser sessions. & before anyone parrots the defaults, yes i have went to preferences and said i want to use bookmarks (ala preferences privacy, when using location bar suggest). I even have christmas treed / applied a binary solution to the options,,,, use bookmarks, use bookmarks & history, use boookmarks & open tabs, etc etc, even up to and including use nothing). The only other caveat is i have imported old bookmarks, irregardless i can not type down old bookmarks or new ones, with the odd exception of it now typing down google.com!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wtaf btw google.com is not a bookmark???? i am really curious where this rabbit hole goes too. currently running lubuntu 14.02 lts 64bit, - i am using addons no script, ubuntu modification & places maintenance (incase my current problem was due to a corrupted sqlite database) yada yada , see information below for a complete picture

I get an error message saying Facebook's certificate is bad and it won't allow me to set an exception. I cam sign in using Chrome with no problem but want to use FireFox.

Having to use Classic Theme Restorer is an inconvenience that brings about other unwanted changes. We're just talking about the addition of a space and separator button. I understand the desire to refresh the look of Firefox, but certain customization options should be left alone. It's harder to be a loyal user when one has to constantly implement workarounds. When switching to full screen while playing a video, the message appears that the website now uses the full screen, which is often annoying because it blocks part of the screen for several seconds. How can this message be suppressed?

I just upgraded to FF 40 on my windows 10. The font rendering is very jagged on custom fonts on the websites i visit. Is there something I can do to fix it? On my Mac with FF 40 the problem does not exist.

Kaspersky Protection, HTTPS Everywhere, and Adobe Acrobat DC suddenly can't be verified. However, it seems as though they're still working. 1) Why can't they be verified? 2) Are addons that can't be verified supposed to still be working?

Hello. I want to install Firefox ESR on top of my current installation, but what will change when I do so? What is different in ESR?

See, I have downgraded to FF 40 due to extension/add-on problems with FF 42, but I don't want an unsafe/unstable browser. ESR was recommended, but I'm confused about it. Will all my bookmarks, themes, add-ons, etc. remain the same? Is there a different updating schedule, and how does it work? I really need some help here.

I used to be able to read public facebook pages while using Firefox. Recently, actually. But now a pop up window comes up that blocks the facebook page and forces me to sign onto Facebook. If I use Internet Explorer, I have no such problem. I just want to read local news and I am currently stealing Wifi, so I don't necessarily want to put my password into Facebook. Problem is, I don't really like Internet Explorer, so I was hoping you might know something. I have my Mozilla preferences set up so that everytime I click on a url, it should open in a new tab, but every once in a while Mozilla goes on the fritz and opens the new url IN THE SAME TAB! I checked my preferences, they are still set correctly. I checked Tools: Options: General: Tabs: Open new window in tab instead. and When I open a link in a new tab, switch to it immediately. So this is still set correctly.

What am I missing?

I installed Firefox on a new computer with Windows 10, and initially was unable to get into full screen (F11). After some experimentation, I came up with a procedure that works, but involves starting Firefox twice every time - a minor nuisance. I have 1 "Pinned" Tab plus other open tabs with full screen working, and shut down Firefox normally (I don't get the expected warning about closing multiple tabs). The following steps get Firefox back up and into full screen mode:

1. Start Firefox. This gives a maximized blank page with address bar and tab bar with a single tab. 2. Press F11. Oddly, instead of putting it in full screen mode, it changes the page to "Restored" size. 3. Maximize. Window expands to its appearance after step 1. 4. Shutdown Firefox. Window goes away. 5. Start Firefox a 2nd time. This time it will come up with the Firefox "Restore" page (with address & tab bars) that shows the tabs that were open at the earlier shutdown, and gives the opportunity to select which tabs you want to come up this time. At this point F11 will toggle in & out of full screen properly, so steps 6 & 7 can be in either order. 6. Press F11. It will go to full screen (i.e. address & tab bars disappear). 7. Click the "Restore" button. Tabs from previous shutdown are restored and F11 is fully functional. Questions: 1. Why don't i get the warning for closing multiple tabs? (It no longer appears to be an option.) 2. Since (under XP at at least) the "Restore" page should only appear following a forced or abnormal shutdown, why is it even getting involved? (Both of the shutdowns mentioned were normal.) 3. Why doesn't Firefox come up normal the first time, with only the tab(s) that were pinned, and with F11 functional?
