I've been using Firefox since forever but over the last couple of months, the auto translate subtitles (to English) hasn't been working when watching Youtube videos. There's a thread on the Youtube support site with nearly 40,000 posts of people with the same issue and tonight I was trying to watch a video where the hosts talk in Italian, so I use auto translate to English subtitles but no subtitles appear. It will show Italian language subtitles.

I've gone back through this Youtube channel's history trying videos I've previously watched from months/years ago when auto translate used to work but even they're not working now.

I decided to try the video in Edge browser and to my surprise the auto translate to English worked there. They also work in Chrome.

So what could be causing this issue on Firefox, which started about August time?

This is quite bizarre as I assumed all the processing/translation was done by Google/Youtube so in what way can Firefox be part of this issue?

To be clear, subtitles in the (foreign) language the people are speaking, works. Subtitles translated from that language to English (or other languages) has stopped working. Subtitles translated from that language to English IS working on Edge and Chrome browser.

I am very disappointed to learn that Firefox is moving forward with AI integration. I use this browser specifically because there is no AI. AI tools are a drain on public resources such as clean water and electricity, and the data centers that host the AI servers are a burden in many ways on the communities where they're built.

Additionally, I am concerned that the AI will turn all of our browser history into an AI slop ad factory where our data is more easily collected and sent off to generate more ads.

If AI is integrated into FireFox, I will no longer use this browser, even if the AI can be "turned off".

Is there any way to keep AI out of FireFox?

Right now, when you use AI features in Firefox, each request opens a new chat with the provider. But sometimes I would like to send the webpage selection to an existing chat for better context, especially when I am looking for guidance through something like the AWS Console. Is there any option to achieve this?

Using Firefox 145.0 (64-bit), "Firefox is up to date" on PC with Windows 11 Pro.

I was so pleased when Firefox's Group Tabs arrived. I often have about 12 tabs open to do Railway research. So I thought, Group Tab, great idea. Save a group of tabs as one tab. Instead of creating a Bookmark Folder and each time opening all bookmarks from said folder, what better way to do than opening one tab. Or so I thought. I also created a "SHIP" tab for my hobby in the shipping industry, so I could have two group tabs that could be collapsed making the tab bar tidier. I saved an closed each group tab then closed down my PC. Next on restarting, Firefox starts up automatically as chosen by me. Both RAIL & SHIP tabs reappeared without me doing anything. Great! However yesterday, I inadvertently opened another Firefox window, forgot it was opened. So when I shut down my PC, I closed the Firefox browser and then discovered the over Firefox window I had opened. Closed it shut down my computer. Of course when I opened my PC today, Firefox started automatically, but with the tab that I had open in the last Firefox window. No problem I thought, I will just open the saved Group Tabs. It was a problem, where are the Group Tabs saved? Could I find the location? NO! I looked in Bookmarks, all the various History lists, even the down arrow to list all tabs. Nothing, the Group Tabs are none existent. I have checked on the "about:config" section for Group Tabs and everything is enabled "true". So where are the Group Tabs saved? I have been with Firefox for around 14 years, often citing it as the best browser. But over the last five years I find myself using Chrome more and more. Chrome has Group Tabs which do not not need the users to save them, they are saved automatically, and are easily found on opening the Chrome browser. Why doesn't Firefox have this?

I am incredibly concerned and disappointed over the announcement of the intention to turn Firefox into an AI browser. I use Firefox primarily for privacy concerns, and the already existing AI "features" that it has are pushing my boundaries already. The addition of more AI into this browser will slow it down, deplete natural resources, and ultimately push me away from it. I've been using Firefox happily for over 15 years now, don't ruin the good thing we have here.

AI is trash that doesn't do what it's being touted as capable of doing, and I'm sick of having it shoved in my face. Don't flush decades of good will down the toilet for no reason.

ive searched every article from here and beyond, but i cannot seem to find the button to edit my payment information. strange since it still prompts to autofill it

For the past few days, I haven't been able to use Google Lens for searches. Why? It used to work, and I haven't changed anything on my computer.

I read the support article about this problem: everything seems fine, Google is definitely my search engine... Can you tell me what I need to do to get it working again? Thank you

In the latest update I got it made everything into rounded corners. The Tabs and Settings windows as an example. How do I undo that?

I checked thoroughly in the appearance settings and dont see a way to do that. I specifically switched my entire world over to Firefox to get out of the rounded corner UI world only in time for this switch to happen. How do i undo it?

I've noticed over time Mozilla has become less focused on consumer privacy and more focused corporate interests.

My questions are to you developers of Mozilla.

Would you have reached success in the past using this model?

I've noticed a corporate trend of brands being consumer friendly in the beginning of their history then over time snubbing the customers in favor of getting paid to sell data to corporate interests, data brokers and government entities.

Should we trust you?

I've been using Firefox for almost 20 years and anyone can agree that this browser isn't getting better over time.

Can you provide a list of all the third parties you deal with selling our data?

I have a nagging feeling this isn't the browser it used to be and some of us will need to change to a less corporate focused browser to protect our data, since it seems you aren't interested in that model anymore.

Is there going to be a native PWA for Firefox on Linux? I really would love to have it. I use Ubuntu on my laptop and really don't want to use a chrome browser or some weird workaround.

Evil Corp (aka Microsoft) updated my Windows 11 PC from 24H2 to 25H2 and now I cannot access quite a few websites (i.e. Amazon, Bank!, etc.) and some take a long time to load (surprisingly, my Firefox Home page...Google...also takes a while to load) . I searched the internet and found many so called fixes and most are very complicated and many contradict others. A lot of them say to disable DNS and reset network stack (using the command prompt) which I do not know how to do even though I worked in the tech business for 40 yrs (mainly data networking)...I retired 20 yrs ago...so I'm old...so I'm not as savvy with computers as I used to be. I tried changing a few Firefox settings, but nothing worked, so I changed them back to the original settings that worked before the update. If someone could give me detailed (and hopefully simple) instructions to resolve this issue, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm am in a bind, so a timely response would be great. Is there a button I push or a feature I enable to make sure that I'm opted-out of any future updates that include AI 'features'? Or should I switch to Vivaldi now and save time?

I don't know if this is the proper topic, but I'm not sure what to call it. For the longest time I've had an issue with the settings being reset every time I open the browser - all my add-ons are off, all my configurations return to the original state, every single time. I have to manually turn them on all over again every time. Does anybody else has the same issue? Can it be solved somehow? Do I need to redownload Firefox or something?
