Since the last update, the firefox taskbar icon is showing a strange shopping card icon? How can I remove it? I am not shopping with Firefox, I am using it as my web browser.

Recently, whenever i have to quit firefox, my tabs have all disappeared upon opening. I have tried all the suggestions in the Mozilla help and nothing seems to work. This used to happen from time to time which was frustrating but now it happens every time I need to quit firefox. "Recently closed tabs" and "recently closed windows" are greyed out when I try to use that. and there is nothing in "restore previous history". Thank you for your help.

I wanted to report that Firefox froze or crashed. I could not close it and had to Endtask it. I am running the latest version supposedly on Windows 11. Why did this occur?

Is there a specific name for the Firefox notification bar, other than that? NOT anything to do with popup blocking. The same bar that has the "mailto" handler pop up that appears beneath the address bar. All I can find is information related to website popup blocking which is obviously no help at all.

Can't find any way to cancel Mozilla VPN. It is not working. Cannot find ANY help to resolve the issue. It hasn't worked in over a year, and it just renewed. Not really wanting to pay for something that is not working, and has not worked for over a year, and there appears to be no real help to remedy this problem. Pretty easy request... I want to cancel, and would like the refund (30 days that you advertise, and be done with Mozilla. Please make my day and cancel this subscription and refund my money.

Firefox: Sprache ein Mischmasch aus Deutsch/Englisch. Trotz dass die Einstellungen nur auf Deutsch, sind die Menüs in Englisch! Wie bekomme ich es hin, dass ALLES nur in Deutsch ist?

When I want to login with my Firefox account it asks me for a code as 2 factor but I can't remember that I ever signed up for 2 -factor . I have 2 apps fro 2 factor: google and Microsoft but neither has Mozilla identification in it. I would like to sign up for 2 factor but it looks like someone already did that for me. What now?

After the update on the 14th, dark mode has gained weird stylistic choices that I cannot find a way to alter: namely, when closing a new tab, a white box with black font appears -as opposed to the previous darker toned grey/purple with white font. However as of writing this post, I notice that dark mode is not working on this webpage. Seeing as I have an extension enabled in addition to the basic dark mode selection in Firefox settings, I can only imagine that something was broken in the update. Please advise, the change is jarring.

I just updated to the most recent Firefox version and read about the unload feature. Sound great, but when I right click on the tab the menu does not have unload as an option.

Since the last update, I am unable to log into my American Express account using Firefox (I can log in using Chrome, but Firefiox is my default browser). After entering user name and password, the little spinng arrow goes around for 8-10 seconds and goes off again - it won't to progress to the next screen . Never any error messages, it just spins awhile and stops.

NOTE: I have marked this as "Solved" because I figured out the problem described below, and I fixed it. See my following message here for a description of my solution.

I'm using Firefox 144.0 under Debian Linux. I've used Firefox on this machine for years with no problem. Firefox can easily connect to literally thousands of web servers on the internet, both via HTTP and HTTPS.

But now, I'm having an issue:

I started running a web server on the same machine that Firefox is running on. This server only listens for non-HTTPS connections on port 80. I am not using any proxy server with Firefox.

I can easily and directly connect to my local web server's pages from my local machine from Chrome, w3m, curl, and direct telnet connections to port 80 ... all of which are addressing the publicly accessible domain name for my local web server. However, However, Firefox refuses to connect to any URL's on my local machine, and it gives me the following explanation:

Unable to connect

Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at [ my server's domain name ].

   The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
   If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
   If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the web.

In Firefox, I have all auto-forcing of HTTPS disabled by means of Don’t enable HTTPS-Only Mode turned on.

I get the same error in Firefox whether I connect via a URL like "http://MYFULLDOMAINNAME" or a URL like "http://AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD", where "AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD" is my machine's publicly accessible static IP address and "MYFULLDOMAINNAME" is the long-standing, publicly accessible domain name for my machine ... both with and without a suffix of ":80" on the supplied URL.

And again, all other browsers on my machine have no problem whatsoever connecting to my own local web server on this same local machine of mine using those same URL's.

And all browsers (Firefox and otherwise) that are running on other machines all over the internet have no problem connecting to that same web server via the same URL's that I described above

Also, I have no firewall rules on my machine which would block access to my own machine's port 80.

What could be causing this error in Firefox, and what might I be able to do to fix it?

UPDATE: Just a bit more information. Looking at the web logs, I see that Firefox's request never even reaches my local web server. In other words, Firefox itself is not even trying to make a TCPIP port 80 connection to my local web server in the first place

As of late I find it is constantly slowing or freezing and when I check with taskmanager I find Firefox has opened and is running as many as 85 processes. I have tried the recommended methods of limiting it...but the performance options do not provide the ability to limit processes as set out in the instructions....and changing the browser.tabs.remote.autostart to false also did not work. If I can't fix this, I will have to stop using Firefox. I am using version 144.0
