Firefox used to save unknown files according to the save files setting. i.e. ask where to save files. Now if opens unknown files as text in a new tab.

How can the correct behavior be restored?

Alternately, can the Linux snap be fixed to allow saving of new file types? {The procedure shown in https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-firefox-behavior-when-open-file is not present in the firefox 141 snap.

I am having difficulty using Google Sheets within Firefox Developer Edition 144.0b4 (64-bit) on Linux Mint 22.2 Cinnamon. When I load any of my Google Sheets, I am unable to scroll. This includes when using a blank sheet.

I also have Firefox 143.0.1, which seems to still be functioning correctly.

HELP! How do I move the Open Tabs back down to the bottom?? It ended up way up TOP after an Update  :-(

I saw a Video on YouTube that said Vertical Tabs were added in a recent update from Mozilla Firefox, I HATE THEM!!!!

HOW do I move my Tabs back to the "TOP" of the page where I am used to seeing them?

This wave of so-called AI (really nothing of the sort) is a nightmare for security, usability, performance and efficiency and if you keep forcing it on us I'll be jumping ship, probably for whichever fork excising it all gets popular.

I've been using first the Mozilla suite and then Firefox (since it was called Firebird, even) for twenty years now, don't do this to the browser I love.

i need to access my aol and yahoo email like i was always able to do using firefox. now it states security risk and "nothing " you can do? please advise . i need access to my desktop to easliy see my emails and don't like using my phone

When I go to (seemingly) any Elsevier site, the browser tab immediately closes with no error or explanation. An example is this site:

I have years of bookmarks that have disappeared and my history is missing. Firefox opens with the tabs that were open when it shut down. I really want my bookmarks back.

I'm having trouble opening urls in a private window from the command line on Windows 11.

Firefox version: 144.0.2

Starting a new private window works fine with "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -private-window

But doing: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -private-window "https://www.google.com"

just opens the link in the last selected window if the last window selected is non private it just opens the link there instead of a new or existing private window

I have also tried with no success: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -private "https://www.google.com"

Trying to run Prime and Netflix in a Linux browser on my new Lenovo Chromebook Plus 14. Not that this is an ARM based unit (Kompanio Ultra 910).

I can successfully download Firefox for Linux: Mozilla Firefox Debian Package mozilla-deb-1.0 144.0 (aarch64)

But when I go to run streaming video services get: Prime Video is incompatible with your current operating system or web browser. You must update to watch Prime Video titles. Review the Prime Video system requirements. If the problem continues, please contact Amazon Customer Service and refer to error 7132.

Same with Netflix.

any ideas, thoughts, solutions?  :)

While taking screenshot of entire page or section within the page, taken screenshot resolution is of very low quality. As a result when shared the screenshot with someone using copy paste function or download and share option, in both methods screenshot image quality is very low making it very difficult to read data/text from the same. Text from the screenshot is barely in readable format. Even zooming the image distorts image totally. I want a way to increase screenshot resolution or improve its image quality so we can read easily without zoom or zooming the image file.

Hello. I am using Linux Mint 21.3 cinnamon and Firefox 144.0.2 When I use Google maps and the yellow small pointer (cartoon) to go on a specific street, the window come black when shifting to street view. My only extension is disabled, hardware acceleration unchecked, cache cleared and cookies cleared. I have made fresh install and nothing help. Troubleshooting mode allow street view to work fine but normal mode don't work. Google chrome work good. Chromium work good. And finally, Firefox work ok on my Linux mint LMDE 6.

Any idea where to go to solve this issue?

I GOT TIRED OF FREQUENT FIREFOX CRASHES (C0000005) IN BOTH THE 64-BIT AND 32-BIT DESKTOP VERSIONS. I HAVE BEEN USING THE 64-BIT VERSION IN WINDOWS 11 (I HAVE A HIGH-END SAGER LAPTOP WITH 32GB RAM. I INSTALLED THE FREQUENT FIREFOX UPDATES BUT THE PROBLEN PERSISTED EVER SINCE VERSIONS 42X WERE RELEASED. I TRIED THE 32-BIT VERSION BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. FINALLED, I TRIED THE DEVELOPER VERSION: NO MORE CRASHES! I READ THE RESPONSES FROM YOUR CLUELESS STAFF TO OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME TROUBLE. THIS IS NOT A WINDOWS ERROR; THIS IS A FIREFOX APPLICATION ERROR. MAYBE SOME OF YOUR FIREFOX DEVELOPER CODERS SHOULD ASSIST THE 32-BIT AND 64-BIT DEVELOPERS. OR, DUMP THE VERSION 4X CODE AND BUILD ON THE MORE STABLE 39X CODE. ALSO, DON'T BLAME WINDOWS FOR FIREFOX APPLICATION ERRORS. AND...NEVER SUGGEST A WINDOWS REINSTALL FOR FIREFOX ERRORS!!!

I was asked to 'Allow Chatgpt.com to store data in persistent storage'. Would that add on the risk of having my data being more exposed and kept by stakeholders not of my own choice?
