On the page listing passwords, it was possible to sort them by "Alerts".

In settings, there is an option to enable checking the vulnerable passwords: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-password-manager-alerts-breached-websites

On my other laptop using Firefox v121, the alerts are properly displayed. But on my second laptop using Firefox v124, the alerts are gone. I can't sort password by "Alerts", the option isn't there. Both laptops share the same Firefox account and have password synchronized between each other.

Obviously, I ticked the "Show alerts about passwords for breached websites" box in the settings but it looks like it does not nothing. I also checked in "about:config" and everything seems good.

Is this feature gone?

Sometimes all add-ons / extensions break randomly and are disabled (the icon of the extensions is also broken under "Manage Your Extensions").

The extensions are visible under "about:addons", but the slider is turned off and the icon in front of each extension is broken / empty.

It seems that deleting these 2 files- compatibility.ini and extensions.json inside the firefox profile folder, usually fixes the issue. Only these 2 files though, don't delete anything else.

No need to mess around with the ff profiles or anything else, just deleting those 2 files and restarting the firefox usually fixes the issue with the "unregistered" addons.

This thread is for the search function, as I found some VERY old and outdated suggestions for the aforementioned issue using the search function.

I wonder what causes the extensions to "unregister" randomly.

Recently, I have been unable to hold down backspace to delete multiple characters in certain text boxes in Firefox. Namely, in the EndeavorOS forum post text box, Google Docs, and the google search box. I am not experiencing this issue with any other app, and in chrome, with the same pages, the issue doesn’t occur. The issue also does not occur in the URL box or the forum post text box here. The issue still occurs in troubleshoot mode.

Have just noticed that there are no longer green Norton check marks against web results. Have spent all morning in live chat with Norton. They say it is the way it has been set up. Very disappointed as they check marks were very useful.

How do I perform very basic editor functions like add/remove/move a page in the new Firefox PDF document editor? I am in the Mainstream Firefox 124.0.1 64-bit. Thank You, David

I am running Firefox 124.0.1 on Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1.

I set Firefox as my default browser. However, when I have links that should redirect and open in an external application (Apple News, Facebook Messenger, etc.), Firefox does not redirect to these external applications. I have searched the FAQ and the internet but haven't seen an answer to this. As a result I have switched my default browser back to Edge, which functions as expected.

Every time FF does an update it deletes my saved sites on the FF home page. When I try and put them back in the blank spaces it will not let me. I have tried reinstalling FF and it does not help at all. I try in safe mode and it does not work either.

Just tried to log into DISH Anywhere and received the following error message: "Your browser is not currently supported for streaming Live TV and DVR content with DISH Anywhere. Please use a Chrome or Safari browser to access this content." Is this something that will be fixed? Pushing me towards Chrome . . .

On Mac OS 14.4 Firefox hangs on launch and crashes, requiring "Force Quit" when I try to Refresh or Troubleshoot. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, and restarted computer several times. Have spent several hours trying multiple community suggestions to now avail.

I am not a programmer, but am able to follow instructions. I clearly need someone to hold my hand and walk me through the solution. (I even checked out the Kaspersky suggestion, but cannot install it because Firefox cannot connect to the Internet.)

I have downloaded and saved "Raw Data.docx" and "Application Basics tex.docx" from one of the crash reports.

P.S. On this question form Firefox guessed that my operation system was Mac OS x 10_15_7, but it is 14.4

I'm using the current version of Firefox 124.0.1 (64-bit). I recently noticed that when I print -- there's no webpage title or URL address with date on the bottom even when I have checked and selected print headers/footers before printing. Is this a bug? Can you please help me? Thank you.

Hello, Firefox randomly downloaded a file, with seemingly randomly name, that is 0 bytes and in download manager the source is moz-safe-about. It happened when I was accessing a popular wiki site. I opened the file in notepad, it was empty. I put it on virus total and came back negative, as it is an empty file. I've curbed through the support tickets here, using the keyphrase 'moz-safe-about'. I understand this was/is quite a common problem, but it still makes me quite worried and left a sour taste in my mouth, as I haven't understood any of the explanations. I have enabled firefox to ask me whenever it wants to save something (I have no idea why this isnt the default state). Happened on a somewhat fresh, updated win 11 installation. I'm also attaching more information here with a picture. Long story short: should I be worried? Am I overreacting and this is just some sort of a bug that occurred while getting a sites data? This one really caught me by surprise! I have an internal Django database system. Staff typically use Firefox or Chrome to access it from Linux or Windows machines. As part of this system, it uses Grappelli library which in turn uses TinyMCE V3.5.8. Specifically, in a text box TinyMCE provides advanced editing and fonting. Allows the user to embed links or images. This system was working fine on Django 2.2. My provider (Python Anywhere) retired the server image I was running on, so I updated everything to Django 4.2 on their latest "haggis" system image. Everything seemed to transfer over without any errors - at first. In fact, it was a week later somebody tried to change a font colour by clicking the popup button that opens a colour picker. That pop up looks blank! (its not, the HTML is there but without the custom CSS nothing is visible)

In developer mode on Firefox or Chrome I can see what the problem is: The popup is disconnected from the parent. The parents CSS and classes - specifically tinyMCE - is not present. So its missing the styling and JS to operate. One of the first things the popup JS does is copy in the tinyMCE and tinymce classes from the parent. But they are not there, in fact .opener is null and .parent is stripped down.

What is really weird is on my test server, where I tested everything before updating the live server, it works! The test server uses Django's "runserver" to run a very simple (unsecure) http server just to test code. Whereas the live server is locked on HTTPS.

What confuses me is I don't see any console log messages that would indicate the browser decided to "protect" me. How can I figure out what is going on? Or disable this feature for a test?

I am writing this on my Dev machine using the browser I test with, so I shall try to paste in tech info below.

Just to reiterate, in this browser I can have my test server in one tab, my live server in another tab, test server popup works; live server popup does not.

Previously I've been able to select search suggestions using the keyboard when typing into a search bar. As of a few days ago this no longer works on some sites like YouTube, but does work on others like Google. The issue is not to do with num lock or scroll lock, and my browser is up to date (124.0.1 Ubuntu Snap version).

Running Firefox 124.0.1 (64bit) on my Windows 10 Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045. Every time I open Firefox, it closes within a couple of seconds and then reopens by itself and keeps working. How can I fix this glitch?

When I scroll text for some reason, Firefox stopping scrolling very slow. It's almost take up to 2 seconds. Very annoying smoothest. I have stopped scrolling already but Firefox still scrolling and finally very slow stop it. I can't focus on the text because it's still slows down the scrolling.

How to fix that!?
