I usually download and install manually the custom install of Firefox on Windows.

Recently, a new version was automatically installed without my permission and destroyed all my customization. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I had to restore the older version from backup and I was going to stop updating.

But I see that the manual custom installation is still available for download.

I want to make sure that if I use it it will not wipe out my customization again.

Please confirm.

On Mac OS 14.4 Firefox hangs on launch and crashes, requiring "Force Quit" when I try to Refresh or Troubleshoot. Uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times, and restarted computer several times. Have spent several hours trying multiple community suggestions to now avail.

I am not a programmer, but am able to follow instructions. I clearly need someone to hold my hand and walk me through the solution. (I even checked out the Kaspersky suggestion, but cannot install it because Firefox cannot connect to the Internet.)

I have downloaded and saved "Raw Data.docx" and "Application Basics tex.docx" from one of the crash reports.

P.S. On this question form Firefox guessed that my operation system was Mac OS x 10_15_7, but it is 14.4

HELLO. I WANT TO GET RID OF NORTON. Must be my own fault ?? But Norton took over the normal usw of mu pc/desktop and now I cant use Googlw or Firefox nomore. Everything else seems to be blocked too. Sorry but I am 88years of ahe and have no idea (nor help available) to makw an end at this trrible thing. I am also almost blind so forgive me misTakes in this writing. hope you can help me Thank you. and please asa possible.

I am in the process of migrating to a new Windows 11 PC. I am a long-time user of Firefox and have version 126.0 - 64 bit on my old PC. On my new PC I apparently downloaded it from the Microsoft Store during all my software installs. That version shows as "Windows MSIX Package Mozilla – MSIX – 1.0”

Are there differences between the 2 versions and should I do anything such as reinstalling from Mozilla?

While following this step in order to reduce CPU and memory consumption of firefox [content-prefs.sqlite file], I accidently deleted the Profile folder itself.

After this firefox wasn't opening and was stuck on not responding in activity monitor.

I reinstalled firefox, multiple times even after a shutdown, removing any old files in the Library folder. Still it's stuck on the same issue, firefox doesn't opens up even once.

No idea what the cause is but I cannot download ANYTHING on my browser for some reason. Pictures, documents, executables, browser extensions. Tried downloading documents from email attachment.. fail Tried downloading VLC... fail Tried every default recommended solution, clean install, you name it. Mind you all of these files downloaded just fine perfectly via Microsoft Edge.

Noticed another abnormality. Changed the download folder to a custom one. Download failed and DELETED the folder for some reason.

Need some help. I can't download any files using Firefox. It always says, "Failed".

I tried other browsers, and I'm able to download just fine.

I already tried this guide, https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cant-download-or-save-files, but still same.

I haven't tried to re-install Firefox because I have a bunch of workbook marks that might get lost. So, I want the re-install option as a last resort.

As title- Cannot download for example webm format, but jpg is okay. cannot install any addon, theme or anything. DRM didnt install as well. i was trying reinstall, refreshing browser, rebooting.

I uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox. I was able to recover my bookmarks, add-ons, and login information. But I do not know how to recover by pdf files. Are they gone for good?

I was advised to use the Authenticator.cc extension for my Firefox browser on Windows 10 PC, I can't get it to run. It downloads but will not then do anything. I can't get the icon into the menu bar, I can't scan a QR code, it just will not perform. Why not?

I cannot download any files or any adons through firefox. I have tried every single troubleshooting method in the "What to do if you can't download or save files" article I have restarted my computer, I have refreshed firefox, I have reinstalled firefox TWICE, I have turned off my firewall and tried downloading a file, I have changed the wifi im connected to, I can download files on internet explorer just fine, I have tried a new profile, I have scanned my device for viruses (theres none), I have no idea what the troubleshooting mode is supposed to do because I cannot download files in that either. I currently have no ad-ons installed because of the refresh I dont know what else to do and why is my firefox doing this, it started yesterday.

This is my Mac Monterey. My Windows 10 is in Safe Mode With Networking. The last update will not download. That version is 125.0.3. What's available under Windows updates does not download either. Now I am running my antivirus on my Windows to see if it runs clean. I do not know why I cannot apply these updates.
