Something has changed. Now when I bookmark a site, I have to go back in to bookmarks to edit it and put it where I want it. Why do I have to do this in two steps? Why would anyone want a vast list of bookmarks in no order? The Fox needs to change it back. Ok, now tell me I'm doing is wrong so I can fix it... Thanks, Jan

The device was serviced and when installing firefox, registering my account and syncing my data is not restored

Why after a Firefox upgrade can I no longer access my Microsoft 365 account. I get the log in page from my saved Bookmark, I log on , I then inoput the second tier pin code texted to my phone, but the page then stalls and goes no further . It did yesterday, and the only thing that's different is that today I had a Firefox upgrade pushed when I opened up ??

I was using Firefox on a 2015 Macbook Air for the longest time and I was perfectly happy with it. It saved my bookmarks, history, and the handy little bookmark toolbar at the top of the page that I could just click my top visited websites. I just upgraded to a new Macbook Air and installed Firefox again because I was so happy with it before. Well, now it's terrible and I wish I could install a later version. I started it up, saved certain websites for my bookmarks and put my most visited websites up at the top of the page (enabled bookmark toolbar). I thought all was well until I exited out and started Firefox again. All of my information was gone, including my bookmarks and bookmark toolbar. There's an option to create a Firefox account, so I did that thinking it would solve the problem. Repeated all steps from before with my bookmarks. Exited out and started Firefox again, everything gone. Noticed I was signed out of my account, signed back in; everything gone. Also, same annoying startup pages as if I had just downloaded it.

This is so infuriating! I want to keep using Firefox because I liked it so much before, but not if these crap keeps happening! I'm hoping to get a solution, otherwise I guess I'll just have to start using Safari.

My browser updated automatically and without warning today. It asked me to create a new user profile because it had none and once I open it my bookmarks are all gone. Only the fresh install bookmarks are present

I've tried restoring them from previous saved points but there are none either, the only one that remains is one containing the same fresh install bookmarks

New firefox 77.0.1 (64 bit) installation on Ubuntu 18.04 laptop. Synced with firefox sync. Bookmarks favicons are not refreshed. Screenshot attached. All of them show a globe until you click the favicon and load the link.

How to get all favicons refreshed in one go?

Since Firefox 77, the old style URL bar is gone, replaced by something else. There are several solutions around to get most of the old behavior back. One particular thing that I am still missing is curating your frequently visited pages.

Let me explain: I have configured Firefox, so that the URL bar on opening shows my frequent pages (like in old times). Sometimes, I page made its way in there that I didn't like. When going to that entry and pressing delete, I was able to remove it from this list and for it to no longer show up. In Firefox 77 this is no longer possible and now mutliple entries for the same top-level website and some unwanted business entries are clogging up this list.

Any idea how to solve this?

I recently had to wipe my computer and reinstall Windows 10. I backed up my bookmarks from Firefox on an external hard drive. I'm trying to import my bookmarks, but its a JSON file not HTML file. Is there anyway to fix them?

I would greatly  appreciate advice about how I can fix this problem with restoring my  Google home page. I have no idea how I lost it since I made no changes to it. It was simply there last night and gone this morning. I am a writer and I make a living from the Internet so time lost is money  lost.

I have both FF 76 and 77. At least with FF76, when I type in the address bar, in the drop-down, identifies the Bookmarks with a star to left of the bookmark so I know it's a bookmark at a glance, but still does not show any identification for History items. But in FF 77, there is NO star identifying Bookmark items and nothing for history items. Why aren't there any symbols identifying or categorizing the address bar drop-down items? I can't tell if it's Bookmarks or History or Open tabs. Thanks.

Unless I knowingly have a setting enabled to prevent these symbols.

I have this problem with the drop down of the URL menu which shows 8 Asian URLs which I cannot delete or I don't know how to get rid of them.

I would like some help in rectifying this ASAP please

Hello helpers! I have lost my bookmarks and several add-ons after latest install (77.0.1). I can't find old profiles to use and restoring to an older bookmarks backup doesn't work either; I get an error message "unable to process the backup file - but it does at least see the last relevant version from 10.6.2020.

To compound the problem, whist working my way through several solutions offered on these forums, I hit the Refresh Firefox button, which created an Old Firefox Data folder on my desktop - but seems to only contains the new stuff after today's upgrade) AND I also reset my Firefox password and got the message that Personal Data will be lost so that has added to the problem. Basically a massive mess!

Can I revert to the older Version of Firefox or using an old computer backup or is there another way to fix this?? It's nearly 3000 bookmarks going way back to 2014 - I'd be gutted to lose it all.

I like to record recipe bookmarks in several different folders. For example, a cookie recipe would have a bookmark in Cookies but also in Snacks. Setting a bookmark in the first folder is no problem. However when I try to set a bookmark for the same page in a second folder by clicking on the "star" symbol, the message is "Edit this bookmark"; Firefox simply moves the bookmark from the first folder to the second folder, so the bookmark that was in the first folder disappears. How do I record a duplicate bookmark for the same page in a different folder? I know it is possible to access the Library with CTRL+Shift+B, and then to copy the bookmark in the first folder and paste the bookmark in a different folder - but that seems like a crazily labour intensive process.

Hello! I didn't find any feature request forums, so I am writing here.

I would like to be able to attach a container to a saved bookmark, so if I want to open it, it would open in that container by default. That would help greatly keeping my user data separated.

Firefox stopped saving bookmarks that I add, I threw out the sqlite file and turned all extensions off but it's still happening, anyone have any other solutions? tia

Had to reset Lenovo y545 laptop with Windows 10. I downloaded Firefox and signed in, but I don't know how to get my bookmarks back. All was working fine until Windows crashed. Help!
