I am using Ubuntu 23.10.1 with KDE Plasma desktop environment. Since recently I've been experiencing the following problem with Firfox document viewer: after a period of inactivity, PDFs become unreadable, and seem to cumulate everything that was displayed on screen (see screenshot). Ctrl + F5 does not help, and neither does closing the window and opening a new one with a link to the file. KDE Document Viewer displays the same file correctly.

I can no longer log into my social security account using Firefox, but the login does work on edge. When I try login on Firefox, I get the following error message:

Bad Request

Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit.

The initial web site is https://www.ssa.gov/. From there I hit "Sign in", and get to https://secure.ssa.gov/RIL/SiView.action using Edge, but get just the error message using Firefox.

There is another route, which is through https://www.ssa.gov/myaccount/. Hitting either account or sign in on that page will work on Edge, but gives the same error message on Firefox.

I've had an ongoing issue with Firefox now for several months since upgrading to windows 11. When I try to copy text, or images, url's or anything really that is supposed to go to the clipboard, it copies a blank text with no data instead. I can copy text and images from other programs and even paste them into text fields on Firefox but I can't copy from Firefox to anything else and it's frustrating.

I recently got forced into upgrading Outlook in windows and hated it so I started using Thunderbird and surprisingly, I have the exact same issue there as well.

I have tried: Running Firefox in safe mode (Shift + Left Click) Resetting Firefox Switching Back to default themes Disabling hardware acceleration Updating to the latest Beta Build (v126) Running Firefox Developer edition

I really want to get this fixed and working, I don't want to have to switch to another browser =/.

I have two audio device plugged in. firefox only outputs to the usb devise even though i have selected the aux out on windows. all other programs use the selected audio out but not firefox

any help would be appreciated

Hello everyone, I’m a fan of Firefox due to its efficient handling of webpage caching and memory management. However, I often find myself switching back to the Chromium-based Edge browser due to one specific feature in its DevTools. In Edge, when I resize the viewport, it stops at a certain limit. If I want to resize it further, I can zoom out and then continue resizing. I find this feature very useful. Is there a way to have similar functionality in Firefox? I’m currently using the Firefox Developer Edition.

I'm using FF on Fedora 39.

However Firefox does not remember any file associations. The MimeTypes.rdf file in the profile is missing and is also not created on restarting the browser.

In the options I've now set the configuration to "Ask whether to open or save files". Now I see a popup when clicking on a file however there is no checkbox with "remember this file associations" (or something similiar).

For the last several months, I have been unable to get audio input from any device working on Firefox. The mic inputs work in all other apps and browsers, are appropriately permissioned on Windows 11, and appear in the Firefox permission windows. No actual audio is received by the website.

I have installed Firefox clean, rebooted countless times, tried the Beta and Dev channel releases, and disabled all extensions, to no avail. I have ensured that I am on the latest releases, have tried various devices, run virus scans. I have included images of the Windows sound settings showing working Mic levels, Firefox showing the device in permissions, etc.

My sound drivers are up to date, and mics work in all other browsers and apps. This is limited exclusively to Firefox.

Hello, I use Firefox as my only browser and I use the shortcuts because they're really helpful. But every time that I lunch Firefox all the pages in the shortcuts "call" their websites, I see it from pihole and all the requests are made every first lunch of Firefox. Probably it's something related to the cache and to give better perfomances in case I wanna select one of those shortcuts, but I don't want that all of them make a "call" to their respective websites. I think it's something related to privacy and freedom about what I want to do with mt browser. Is there an option to block those connections? In case there isn't an option is possible to implement it? Thank you so much

I need to run speech recognition in Firefox (OS solutions are not suitable in my case), but I can't get it to work. I've tried following these instructions in Nightly, Dev and regular version, but they all end with a network error. I also asked my friends to check and they had the same thing happen. Do I need to follow the steps to run offline or is the problem much deeper?

With a recent update of Firefox Developer Edition to version 117.0b9 i keep getting extremely annoying popups on all sites, asking me if I want to translate stuff.

I don't want to store unnecessary settings in my browser, related to exceptions to websites/languages that I want vs. does not want to translate.

I want to completely disable translations, globally. Forever. Two questions:

- Why there is no "disable translations globally" checkbox in the newly added popup? - Is there an about:config hack to do disable translations globally, for all languages, for all websites, and forever?

I use Firefox stable on both my Mac and my Win 11 PC. On the mac i use the developer edition. The issue I have started about 2-3 weeks ago. Most of the time, playing youtube 4k videos just either freezes and doesn't buffer, or just skips and reloads. It is not a network issue. I've tried playing back the same video with ARC on OSX (which is based on chromium) and with Chome on windows. It works flawlessly so it's not a network issue. I've tried disabling adblocker, all the extensions, nothing. It's either Youtube messing with non google products again or a problem with Firefox itself. I even have Youtube premium and this stuff still happens without adblockers.

Any help would be appreciated.

Bought a new windows 11 ASUS laptop. Trying to install an HTML bookmark file from older windows 10 ASUS laptop. When I execute the HTML file import on my new ASUS windows 11 laptop, nothing happens. Even found and removed the "block protection" in the HTML file.

Why am I unable to import a firefox bookmark HTML file?

Firefox seems to crash repeatedly and generates no crash reports, just freezes up my pc. It works in troubleshooting mode but even after refreshing, the problem persists. Surprisingly, it will consistently crash if I go to `about:support` (except in troubleshooting mode). Any help would be appreciated!

I just updated to the latest version of FIREFOX 114.0 on Ubuntu 22.04. However, whenever a website looks for the version it is reported as 86. I am not using the SNAP version and it does not show up in SNAP LIST. Several websites have rejected access because of an outdated browser. Is this a bug or a setting that needs fixing? Had to refresh Firefox but lost my bookmark sidebar & can't find a way to re-establish it. Used to be a setting for it at the top of the home page but none now. Can't find it in settings.

  I am running the latest Firefox v122 (firefox_122.0+build1-0ubuntu0.22.04.1~mt1_amd64.deb not snap)

and when using the --profile option to specify the startup profile it fails to start even on a NEW system that never ran Firefox if I give it a directory that resides on a mounted ext3 filesystem.

  All the permissions are OK and yet running strace I see an error and after a few second will get the

generic pop-up with the error message: (after a few seconds)

Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To use Firefox, you must first close the existing Firefox process, restart your device, or use a different profile.

 Running the SAME from /tmp works fine, but I need the profile to reside on a persistent storage area

so if the LIVE distro restarts then it can restore the previous session, bookmarks, options, etc...

Am I doing anything wrong or is this some weird startup issue / race condition in the parentlock management?
