Hello,

I recently updated my Firefox browser to the latest version, 138.0.1 (64-bit), on Windows.

After the update, I noticed that when playing videos in fullscreen mode (for example, on YouTube or other video websites), the Windows taskbar (the bar at the bottom of the screen with the Start menu icon) does not hide automatically. This is affecting my fullscreen viewing experience.

Before updating to version 138.0.1, the Windows taskbar would hide correctly when entering fullscreen video.

I was wondering if anyone else has encountered a similar issue with the Windows taskbar not hiding, or if there are any suggested solutions to help resolve this problem.

I got this new Chromebook, and now I'm having issues using YouTube. When I select a video to watch, a message pops up at the top saying "To play video, you may need to install the required video codecs." I am able to watch the video I selected anyhow, with some minor issues with the picture and its frames I believe, however, when I try to watch a different video, it does not work. Sometimes it will play for a short bit, but will then stop, and start buffering. When I then refresh the page, the video will not play and will only buffer. I am not sure what to do, and if this is an issue with the browser, or the device itself, please help?

I'm facing an issue where videos on various websites do not load properly when I'm using Mozilla VPN. The issue is happening on platforms like YouTube and streaming services. The videos either don’t start, or they buffer endlessly, even though the internet connection is stable. This issue only happens when the VPN is turned on, and the videos work fine when the VPN is off.

I’ve tried troubleshooting by disabling the VPN and clearing my browser cache, but the problem persists.

Could anyone provide a solution or explain why this is happening? Any help is appreciated!

Good morning, after today's FF update - right click dropdown menus are terrible! Nothing works for me... Opening new windows, new tabs, adding to bookmarks, copying, pasting, etc... How can I turn it off because I can't use it. I need to have a menu like in version 133.0.3. If I can't change it, I will have to change the browser because I can't use it! Hello! For some time now I suddenly have no sound in Firfox, otherwise the sound works everywhere, even in other browsers. All help instructions do not help. Do I have to switch to another browser for good? Thanks for help

recently i have bought a membership on a website called anizium.com and there are 4k resulotion animes, my friends can watch them on 4k but i cant, they use chrome. After i downloaded chrome to check, and yeah i can watch them on 4k on chrome. Is there any solution to that bc i have been using firefox for years now and i dont wanna just use chrome to have 4k. I recently updated my browser, and I've noticed that while listening to music on YouTube, for some reason, the volume slider within the player also controls the stream volume within KDE Plasma's volume mixer, making for a much more frustrating experience. Now the volume resets to what was set on YOUTUBE rather than sticking to what was set in the VOLUME MIXER every time a new video plays or any time the page refreshes. This means that the volume gets reset every. single. time. The issue with this is not only that YouTube's volume slider isn't as accurate as KDE Plasma's, but also that a media player in a browser shouldn't be controlling its own system volume within the mixer because it causes issues and frustrations like these.

How do I separate player and stream volume?

I don't get sound on any website, specifically NPR, Kanopy and Youtube. I've tried all of the suggestions in the Help menu, and they were, to put it mildly, no help. This seems to have begun with the latest update (134).

Windows just had an update, in that when I did it now Firefox has no sound at all in Youtube, Disney plus or any other site.

Now I did my own trouble shooting, games have sounds, my music player (winamp) has sound, I downloaded chrome and I oped volume mixer and played a video in that, there was sound.

I do the same thing in firefox and there is no sound, and in volume mixer where the lines go up showing the volume as it plays, it did it for chrome but not Firefox.

So there is no issue with my head set, my computer or my sound, it is firefox alone.

Hello, I use my providers web email promail.ptd.net , but they don't have where I can add a sound to incoming email or specific ones.. I did add the promail to your notifications,settings, but can you explain to me what the step would be to get their incoming email to make a sound of choice while using Firefox? or do i have to switch to an email program that already has that option? I wish Eudora would continue!

I have noticed that just recently videos across all different websites are not displaying properly. The image part of the video is a green scrambled mess. The audio is fine, but the images are wrong. I am not having this issue on a different browser, and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do. I don't know if changing any of the settings will help or if there's a bug in one of the updates.

I've recently done a clean reinstall of Windows 11 and have noticed that, only for Firefox (134.0.2, build ID 20250120135430), a few videos playback without any audio, yet the same videos play with audio when using edge as a comparison. Most (if not all) of these videos did play with audio in Firefox prior to this reinstall.

Firstly, I'm pretty sure this is not a windows sound mixer issue since many videos on the same page and tab play back with audio just fine in Firefox. The same goes for it not relating to the Firefox setting 'Speaker selection', under (burger) > settings > privacy & security > Permissions because videos of different formats (or using different players) on the same page play back audio fine. The tab is not muted. Again, some videos on the same browser tab play audio fine; some of a particular format or player only play the video, while missing the audio (and where Edge plays the same video with audio).

Another common and potentially relevant issue I've seen is that, this being a 'Windows 11 N" install, it was initially missing the settings > system > optional features > Media feature pack, but that is now something I've successfully added. I should add that windows did report problems when I initially tried to add the media feature pack but, after a very long delay, it eventually appeared to succeed when I ran a couple of DISM incantations that I think ended with - "dism /online /add-capability /capabilityname:Media.MediaFeaturePack~~~~0.0.1.0"

I have the 'Play DRM-controlled content' setting enabled.

I've seen lots of similar (but not identical) issues on Firefox video with no audio problems with suggestions a few things to try. In addition to what I've already mentioned above, I've tried the following without success -

- Restarting Windows - Restarting Firefox - Restarting Firefox with addons/extensions disabled - 'about:support' > Refresh Firefox - 'about:support' > Clear startup cache - (hamburger) > more tools > task manager > (click the little profile icon for the page playing the video) - I've checked the settings suggested here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-common-audio-and-video-issues#w_check-some-firefox-settings

I realise it may be possible to side-step this problem by flailing around with more drastic work-arounds like trying a clean re-install of Windows or a full uninstall and clean of Firefox, but that doesn't really help figure out the problem, which leaves the possibility it could easily happen again to me or others when it might be something that can be more properly fixed or guarded against in Firefox itself, so I hope someone can suggest what might be done to home in on identifying the cause of the problem and so learn whether a more precise fix can be employed.

Hello mozilla support team I am Gina I have this problem for about two or three weeks now.I try to watch videos on mozzila firefox and I get gliches and sound dose'nt work.I don't have those problems on vivaldi at least at this moment. We're finding we can no longer watch FUBO TV on Firefox. Works fine in Edge. Anyone have any suggestions? We've cleared cache/history, restarted laptop, etc. This occurs both on recorded programs and live tv. We still seem to be able to get the commercials, although we tried watching on two different devices and the commercials were very different. Is it possible for Firefox to have been hacked but not Edge on the same device? Doesn't sound plausible to me, but I'm not sure. This has happened since the last update to Firefox. We have Windows 10 64 bit. Firefox 134.0.2 or whatever the latest version is. We're stumped why it works on one browser but not the other. Has to be a Firefox issue.
