Hi, all.

On Windows 10 Pro (64-bit), I run Firefox (64-bit) and Thunderbird (32-bit), each with two profiles.

Until this afternoon, when Firefox updated to 67.0, clicking on a link in Thunderbird would open a new tab in the currently running instance of Firefox. If Firefox was not running, it would open "Profile 1."

Now, Thunderbird will only open links in my "Profile 1" Firefox. If I have "Profile 2" running, Thunderbird ignores it and starts a new instance of Firefox using "Profile 1." With both instances running, Thunderbird opens a new tab in the "Profile 1" instance.

I updated to Thunderbird 60.7.0 (32-bit), but it did not change the behaviour. So, this seems to be a Firefox change. Is there a way to go back to having the running Firefox instance handle the external launch of links?

This is the behaviour that I want: clicking on a link, anywhere, will open it in a new tab in the currently running Firefox profile, only opening the default profile if Firefox is not yet running.

Like in the description I can not save the changes I made in the about:config page no matter what I do, I already do an re installation also use the refresh button and delete the preferences file and still the issue remains.

I am having an issue where no hyperlinks will open in firefox. Thunderbird will show the error below, but no other programs such as discord or open office will show any error or response when clicking on a hyperlink. I was looking through the default programs and settings and the advanced areas in those menus and found the pair of protocol below, which I changed and then changed back with no result.

I have just downloaded chrome and tried to open the links into it, with the same results as firefox.

A small notification stating "critical Firefox update needed", or something like that. I downloaded the most recent version, deleted the old one from my desktop, and opened the new one, and ALL my bookmarks are now GONE! How do i get them back???

When trying to access my 'Activity' page on my Royal Bank account, Firefox signs me out. I have tried clearing, cache, cookies etc with no luck. I have also tried using my Surface Pro & Firefox & it does the same thing. Have also tried using Microsoft EDGE on both computers & the account information under 'Activity' is displayed correctly. Turned off all plugins with the same result. Had to leave JavaScript running as site uses it.

Also contacted RBC & they checked with there tech dept & no one else has reported any problems like this.

Any suggestions as to what to try next?

i uninstalled GOGGLE tonight because, I HATE GOOGLE for several reasons. BUT since the uninstall, they are blocking not sites but CONTENT. I do a search and the content is on lots of URLS. BUT GOOGLE INTERCEPTS THE SITE, HIJACKS Firefox AND SAYS: GOOGLE 404. That’s an error. The requested URL [inappropriate link] was not found on this server. That’s all we know.

BUT IT DID IN FACT "FIND" IT, I SAW IT FOR A BRIEF MOMENT.

I am using Video Download Helper with companion app, when downloading videos, the DownloadHelper will uses only one process of Firefox with very high CPU and memory usage. . Ans cause it does not take advantage of all the CPU cores it is very slow, and uses high memory for that process and will make all tabs in Firefox slow.

It seems that this process is the core process for Firefox, although it is a sub-process. It is the process that almost doesn't uses GPU memory.

When finished, if I killed this Firefox process to clean memory, cause it will just accumulate the memory in that specific process, all the tabs in the Firefox will crash and can't be refreshed, until I close Firefox and open it again.

Usually when I kill a Firefox process that is not responding, it will crash a few tabs and they can be refreshed after that.

Is there anyway that can make the companion app uses all processes for Firefox, so it will distribute the CPU usage to all cores, and if used a high memory it will be distribute the memory to all process and will be easier to clean.

 When I do a search w/ Google it doesn't work w/ Firefox. Typically I get " your search did not match any documents"

Google works fine w/ Chrome. Also, other search engines work fine w/ Firefox. Any help appreciated. Thanks

In options I have homepage and new windows set to custom urls. The new tab option doesn't have an option for custom url but I'm opening a new window so it shouldn't follow the new tab setting. I never open tabs, just windows.

Why does every update have to cause a problem with my settings? I leave updates as long as I possibly can as they always cause a problem.

I never had a firefox account till now. So, I had to reset the pc where i had all my logins. I once had to export my passwords (exporting key4 and logins.json files) and it worked, so i didn't think to much about it. So i reset the pc without cheking if the passwords actually worked (yuh, my bad). The problem is that apparently mozilla doesn't recognize the files, or something, cause when i open "Logins and passwords" it's empty. I don't know what to do, please help me.

Help!!!! I don't see any way to get rid of Yahoo as Firefox's default search engine. I have selected Google as the preferred default, and have chosen to remove all of the other choices. Yahoo is not one of the choices to remove, which I suppose is a clue! I'm leaving Firefox until this can be fixed. Yahoo is simply not an acceptable substitute!

When I go to any website that I have a saved UN & password, the username & password boxes remain blank but I can still log in. The username & passwords are pre stored on my computor but stopped working a few days ago. Thanks in anticipation, James

I last came here for support in 2017. I just tried to sign in but my details were not accepted. So I have registered with a new email and password. As yet I have not been asked to provide a username? Is there a reason for this.

There were a couple of posts asking the same thing I am, but no answers to either of the. You used to have that Theme and Font Size Changer but I hear that is not very useful anymore. Is there any other way to increase the text on tool bars and menus? It's just way too small. Text on web pages is fine but I can't hardly read the tool bars and menus unless I really squint. Why would you want to make it so terribly small with no way to adjust it?

I have tried multiple times and disabled Tampermonkey but I can't install lockwise. I keep getting "The add-on could not be downloaded because of a connection failure."

When I open an url from thunderbird, it is opened in a new window (not in a new tab). Though, I have "refreshed" thunderbird. I have checked on about:config that :
