Flash keeps crashing, with no other extension, in a pristine, vanilla Firefox, on all three machines I maintain. For the record, these are a custom LGA 775 Asus motherboard from about 6 years ago, a similarly old Dell Optiplex of a similar age, and a brand new HP Spectre x360. The graphics systems and their drivers have no similarities. Firefox just doesn't work with flash on these machines.
Forum questions about this keep recurring, and keep getting marked as solved, when they are clearly not! No solution is posted, just a flag for 'solved' which no one bothered to remove quicklu enough.
Is there a silver bullet for this that I am missing, or should I just uninstall Flash and rely on HTML5?
Has Firefox stopped supporting Flash and I've missed it?
Is there a clash between Java or another common pluggin? I can't find any dependencies like that when I try activating pluggins. If Flash is the only pluggin it crashes! I cannot even keep it running long enough to turn off the acceleration on the Adobe Flash page where you are supposed to right click to access options.
Edge seems to work perfectly on the Flash sites I need to access, but I don't like not using Firefox.
Is there a fix, please???
