I need to know how to stop firefox from automatically downloading every PDF file I look at. I’ve tried all of the suggested fixes on Mozilla and various other sites to no avail. None of them work. I’ve tried the following:

Going into settings, downloads, and checking “Always ask you where to save files.” Didn’t work.

Going into settings, applications, and under PDF, choosing “always ask.” Didn’t work.

Going into settings, applications, and under PDF, choosing “open in firefox.” Didn’t work.

Going into about:config and changing browser.download.alwaysOpenPanel from true to false. Didn’t work

None of these fixes stopped firefox from automatically downloading pdf files. I can’t just click on a pdf file to look at it without firefox downloading it.

I’m at wit’s end. My recylcle bin is full of unwanted pdf files.

Please give me a solution that actually works. My version is 105.0.3.

I appreciate the effort and work that has gone into Firefox Suggest, but I find that it obscures and hides the real source of the found URLs. I have no way to know if it's from my browser history or bookmarks or from, potentially, external sources.

The possibility that "Firefox Suggest" results might be from external sources (depending on what you have configured) makes it (to me) like an opaque black box in everyday use. And even if the source isn't external, the fact that there even exists a doubt is itself a problem.

So a constructive idea: it would be very comforting if at least local results would be clearly indicated in the results in the address bar. And preferably also a distinction of "history" and "bookmarks".

I have been having an issue for a week or more and no updates from the browser seems to fix that. The error reads: Bad Request Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand. Size of a request header field exceeds server limit. This is occuring with a request to RBC banking. The same appears to be true but witrh different language for a request with Desjardins Insurance portal.The second link printed in red is the result after I cleared all cookies from Desjardins site. I can access many other pages within the two sites. RBC I am logged in (In black). Desjardins I am not yet as a user when these errors come up

Entering onedrive , I can see all folders, except recycle bin.

Entering recycle bin, I get error 103.

Doing same steps to enter onedrive thru Edge, I get no error.

There must be an incompatibility of onedrive thru firefox.

I also cleaned registry with CCleaner, without any success.

Please inform me of how to proceed.

You can see the context menu in the photo, I would want to hide the pin tabs button so I could stop clicking it on accident. Pinned aren't a feature I use nor find useful anyway.

when hovering over buttons in certain extensions and in the firefox menu, flickers occur, sometimes crashing the compositor if it doesn't have mitigations. tested in Hyprland from the AUR package https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/hyprland-git

Although I allowed google ads (shown in "Not Blocking Tracking Content" list), they are still blocked. Is there a way to fix this? This problem appears on two sites (https://www.agame.com/game/tropical-merge, https://www.games.gr/paixnidia/the-mergest-kingdom) only. Other sites work as they supposed to. ABP is disabled. If I turn Enhanced Protection off, I can see google ads, but I lose any progress I have in these games. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, Is there any way I can view contents of a previously closed webpage? I got an estimate for a health procedure, but did not take a screenshot. Now when I go back via link (provided to me in email) to view the estimate, it's no longer there. Thank you!

I really really really hate firefox automatically downloading files without asking me. I just have to go and delete them all later which is a pain. How do I stop it from doing this? I can't find a way to do this. I have changed pdf setting to open in firefox but I cannot stop the download. Help. This is driving me crazy (or to another browser)

When my Norton VPN is turned on, I get the following error message when I try to access Staples.com. This does not happen in Edge or Chrome.

I installed this version of Firefox from the repository and I can no longer play back video. I have done a number of things to try to get the video playback to work again, however the bug persists. What I've done:

• Reset Firefox
• Disabled Hardware Acceleration
• Disabled Any and ALL Plug-Ins
• Uninstalled and Re-Installed the Browser
• Switched between kernels
• Ensured that Pipewire is functioning properly
• Ensured that my hardware is functioning properly

I've done some other smaller things in my system to try to get this back, but as it appears, this bug still persists even after a delay in dropping the new version.

Hello, I have a problem with this website: https://murf.ai/studio/project/2/P0166570108644041F The main page shows everything normal but when I go into my project some codes show up on the page...please have a look at the attached screenshot. In all other browsers this problem does not occur... I have no idea what causes this problem ??? Have tried to switch off all extensions, but this did not change anything. I do not have a G account. For work related purposes I have to utilize websites that bombard me with Sign in w Google. No settings within FF I found can stop this onslaught. Same goes for Ad Block Plus and a few others since disabled and deleted. No useful information on G's forum website. Firefox, I was under the impression your about user safety & security? Why O Why do I get this garbage from G daily in your browser 105.3 on Win 10 home without a way to disable it?

I'd like to hide the Bar with URL addresses but guides I've seen (for example https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1331743 ) don't work for me because I don't have Mozilla folder at Appdata folder.

When hiding a post, there were also 2 snooze options - 30 days and forever. They are no longer available in the pop up box when I click on the "...". What happened and how can they be restored? Thanks, Larry

105.03 on Macos 12.5 & 12.6, Apple Silicon

I recently received a SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN error when trying to connect to a Heroku site (addons.heroku.com) I think. I thought it was a Heroku problem, but noticed that on clicking "advanced" the certificate was described as being for completely different domains, on every refresh.

Shift-refresh fixed this.

Since then I upgraded to Macos 12.6, and today received a similar error when trying to connect to https://www.theautopian.com/mclaren-f1-chief-engineer-gordon-murrays-mk-i-ford-escort-is-a-restomod-masterpiece/ – again, the certificate was described as belonging to a different domain. As before a shirt-refresh fixed this.

I used a friend's Macbook a few months back and then weeks later he asked me in passing "Why can I see all of your search history?" I really didn't understand his question at the time and wasn't sure what he was referring to. Fast forward to last week and my friend's Mac was stolen. The question he asked in passing now became crystal clear - I had logged onto my Firefox account from his Mac and didn't log out. I have been searching for a way to "Log out of all devices" but have not found a solution. I've read that I can go to that computer I would like to un-sync and log out OR change my Firefox password then change ALL of my other saved passwords. Certainly there must be a simple way to force any device using my account to input the new password next Firefox is accessed.
