Hi everyone,

on my Dell laptop I suddenly started getting a PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR a few days ago when trying to access websites like google, facebook, youtube etc.

Other websites like ebay, amazon or tripadvisor work. The problem also occurs with Chrome and IE.

I have checked date and time, run all troubleshooting programs, restarted router and laptop, cleared cache and cookies and deactivated the windows defender firewall. I have no other security software installed.

Now I am all out of ideas. Can anyone help?

How do I get around the error message, "Warning: Potential Security Risk Ahead" when I know the website is safe? I need to access it for school. The advanced option is not allowing me to proceed. Please help!

It's been a while now since I randomly started getting the above problem. I've tried the solutions described here: https://cheapsslsecurity.com/blog/troubleshoot-secure-connection-failed-error-firefox/ I've stopped the Kaspersky Internet Security, I've installed and re-installed Firefox, I've tried editing/deleting the damn security ceritficates, mothing worked. And nothing of Firefox's help pages... helped either.

I'm using the latest Firefox, latest KIS version, all the drivers are up-to-date, system (Win 7 64-bit) runs perfectly with no error whatsoever, same for the Inetrnet connection. At this point I'm just about ready to flush Firefox down the drain because of this frustrating problem. It will probably go away after restarting the system, but I don't want to do this at Firefox's notice whenever it feels like it. I just want it to go away period.

Since it looks like it's impossible to attach a simple .jpeg to this message (file keeps loading forever), here's the full text of the error: "Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.google.com. You have received an invalid certificate. Please contact the server administrator or email correspondent and give them the following information: Your certificate contains the same serial number as another certificate issued by the certificate authority. Please get a new certificate containing a unique serial number. Error code: SEC_ERROR_REUSED_ISSUER_AND_SERIAL The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem."

Side note: very funny having to confirm this question by checking my gmail address... which I can't access because of the reasons stated above.

Every time I select a privacy/security add-on like Ghostery or AdbloclPlus I get an internet connection failed notice. Why can'i install these add-ons? I can do it with EDge but not with Firefox.

The problem seems to have started about the time Firefox upgraded to version 60.0.1

I had been able to get on the site without any issue up until about 2 weeks ago. Contacted the school IT dept. and they say everything is as it should be and no one else is reporting any issues getting on.

This happens with both my work computer and home computer.

It does not happen on Internet Explorer

Every day around 9:30 PM, browsing the web becomes impossible. nearly every site I visit brings up a This Connection Is Untrusted page. I have tried using different browsers and Different Devices. Even my 3DS doesn't work. This has lead me to believe that the problem is either with the modem or my service provider. I checked the certificate of Google via chrome://pippki/content/exceptionDialog.xul, and it read ISSUED TO Common Name (CN) security.frontier.com Organization (O) security.frontier.com and when I checked it now, it reads ISSUED TO Common Name (CN) www.google.com Organization (O) Google Inc I don't know what fixes this problem since the problem stops at different times. It started around when I installed AVG, so I tried uninstalling it, but the problem didn't stop. While I'm fairly certain the problem isn't related to Firefox, this is one of the sites that I am able to visit when this problem occurs. I have tried manually adding the exception so I could bypass the Untrusted Connection page, but the page never loads and the next time it happens, the page is there again anyway.

Tried to access my online bank account from your website but got a message that it's not a secure site. I called my bank who told me that it's because of one of your updates. How can I fix this issue? I can access my account from other sites, just not yours.

Firefox automatically updated itself and installed "Firefox Quantum" 60.0.2 I see - 64 bit - on Windows 10 on a Dell laptop.

Never had this problem before - but when loading Ebay pages, the main body of the advert page fails to load and the full message I get instead is below - I've tried switching the proxy settings to "No proxy" or "Use system settings" and sometimes page loads correctly once but then it fails again! Have cleared cache/cookies, have refreshed, have restarted ...

Very frustrating and this is about to lead me to give up finally on Firefox and move to Chrome.

I receive this error message when trying to access a military course online. I have tried everything I can think of to troubleshoot this, including your online suggestions. Please help me to disable this error message and get past it. I trust the website I'm going to, https://ellc.learn.army.mil. I don't need anything protecting me from this .mil website that's required for my work. I sent in this question before, and got no response. Please help.

Since upgrading to Win10, I can no longer sign into Amazon or several https websites. I've checked all the usual stuff and nothing works. What could be causing this?

Only in Firefox. Internet Explorer and Chrome both load the sites correctly.

Restarting in safe mode does not fix the problem.

Changing security.tls.version.max and security.tls.version.min to 0 and restarting does not solve the problem.

Trying with a new profile with no extensions or other changes from the default had no effect.

Firefox 56.0b7 (64-bit) for Windows.

I installed an SSL certificate on my website. Firefox recognized it previously and all was well. Now it says my site is not secure in the upper address bar, and it also doesn't play the sites music?...Ran Malwarebytes....nothing....ran security essentials.....nothing....any ideas?

since after Firefox 59. All my existing passwords have gone awol (settings passwords blank) and no new passwords are being prompted to be added even if I enter them in websites. (also wierdly since 59.01 it keeps a restart message in the help even though i have updated

Trying to get my mom's Mac back online. The Safari browser on her OSX 10.7 machine would not work with Google Mail last year after they made some upgrades. We installed Firefox and she could get her mail. It has been offline for several months due to unrelated issues. Today it accessed Gmail. I then downloaded Avast free edition for Mac. After that Firefox gives an invalid certificate error on every page - Google.com, even Mozilla.com. I have closed Avast but the problem seems to be in Mozilla. I thought it might need updating so I attempted to download the update. Still giving this error. I disabled the Avast add-on to Firefox. Still does it. The current version is 43.0.3 now, after restarting it. It was updated from ver 39.0.

At wit's end. Is this thing just too old?

I purchased a certificate that will expire in 2019 , It's showing green padlock and secured on other browsers.

But on Mozilla , I get security error :SEC_ERROR_REVOKED_CERTIFICATE.

How to solve this issue?

I'm not able to access certain sites do to missing "Add Exception" button. I have tried all the suggestions, like modifying about:config, resetting firefox completely, and deleting appData.

1) Other browsers work fine 2) The corporate VPN or security software is probably creating certificate problems. Asking them to change is not an option 3) I don't care if the site is well-maintained or not, I need to access it. 4) I don't plan on logging into any websites or sharing any data. 5) If Firefox really can't do this, then I need to use a different browser

I don't care about security here. The sites I want to access are just public pictures and videos, and I don't plan on logging in.

An example is embedded videos from Twitter.com. I'm not able to access them.

Any help?

I cannot access US Gov't Sites from home using my CAC. With internet explorer, I am able to access US Gov't sites on mail.mil and us.af.mil. I have made my CAC certs available to windows and even tried to export/import from IE to FF, but that does not work. In FF, there certificates dialogue box shows no personal certificates.

I recently switched to FF on both my home and US Gov't machines and at work I can access the gov't site without a problem, but I am on the .mil network there, so it's not a good comparison.

I am using Windows 7 Pro w/ symantec endpoint protection and ZoneAlarm Firewall on an older Dell 64b machine. I use ActiveClient SmartCard manager, and until now, I've not had a problem in years getting to CAC-enabled gov't websites.

I have Firefox 63.0 (64-bit) for ArchLinux. The main article on the firefox website says:

MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_ADDITIONAL_POLICY_CONSTRAINT_FAILED will be the primary error but with some servers, you may see the error code SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER instead. In any case, if you come across such a site you should contact the owner of the website to inform them of that problem. We strongly encourage operators of affected sites to take immediate action to replace these certificates.

However the websites that I am having this issue on are large websites like LinkedIn and Reddit, so I'm fairly certain it isn't an issue on the websites side.1

Hello!

My partner is unable to access the following secure site via Firefox 55.0.3: https://mdlandrec.net/main/

He receives the error message: "Secure Connection Failed. The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading." (Full error message screen shot attached.)

Meanwhile, I am able to access the site with no problem, using the same version.

The error message suggests I contact the site owners, which is not possible. The site is a state government site and the owners are not responsive. I cannot wait for this problem to resolve itself. Is there any way to bypass this security so that my partner's Firefox can access the site?
