I have just downloaded UK version from http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/ . My homepage shows Japanese text only - I am currently in Japan so I assume Firefox shows Japanese by default - but I want English. How to make it default to English? The top left of previous Firefox versions had the left arrow key to go back to the previous web page and a button that would list all the previous web pages so that I could select, say, the 5th previous page. I can't find this button on Firefox 4. Is there a way to do this?

I installed Firefox ver. 4.0.1 but everything looks the same as before the install. The only noticeable difference is that the Home Button did move from the middle to the right side. When I check About Firefox, it does list the version as 4.0.1. When I click on Check for Updates, it says, “Firefox is up to date” When I click on Download Firefox, it says I am already running 4.0.1

According to the TAKE THE TOUR site, the most obvious missing features are: 1) Firefox Button which should be in the upper left-hand corner 2) Bookmark Button which should be to the right, next to the Home Button.

Also, there is no “one click” button for Private Browsing, the Awesome Bar does not seem to have the extra features as described, and new sites do NOT open as Tabs,

According to Firefox 4.0.1 is compatible with Windows 2000 so it should not be a problem with the operating system. One other tip, I did try to upgrade one of the Add-ons (AniWeather) which has been updated to be more compatible with 4.0.1. It would not install because of missing dll’s. This seems to be one more clue that 4.0.1 did not fully install.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't been able to upgrade my windows from 2000 to XP or anything newer. I started using firefox because it didn't slow down my computer and exployer I never liked. If I upgrade the flashplayer you are recommending will it slow down my computer? I'd like to know before I upgrade.

Sorry, on the left side of the browser there is a panel which I cannot seem to close or remove. It is titled "history" and it includes a search box and a list of visited sites. None of the typical fixes have been able to close the box.

I have been using Opera (version 10.63) without problems for a long while. I decided to switch to Firefox, but wanted to import my Opera bookmarks, etc. When I follow the directions to do so - File>Import>Opera>next- I am presented with an empty window indicating that there are no items I can import. The Help article says there should be a series of choices presented here, as there is if I choose Internet Explorer.

How can this be corrected?

I need to set up the browser for people who don't know anything about computers other then you click this and things happen. I have the browsers set to automatically update, and every time it does, I get a help desk call to their station with "The browser just did something strange."

Get tired of that, I only want to be bothered with real help calls you know.

Question I cannot open my emails . Per comcast it is a Firefox issue . I cannot open mail in Mozilla and look at in on Internet Explorer but that is too slow. Any suggestions?

I've had V4 and V5 and RoboForm worked the way it should. Then V6 comes along and it won't reside on a page so I can just hit a drop down. In the setup I clicked several times on the bottom button that says to always reside on top.

I use hotmail trying to forward a msg that has 36 pic but it says it can't be sent because the limit is 50. I must delete some before it can go. Why are they saying 50 when its 36?

I downloaded Firefox and set up my homepage as Yahoo- which is what I used before downloading. Now there is no background color to my page, whereas it was in shades of green before. Also on certain pages there are pictures missing as on the main page- the news items always have a picture- now there are none and certain headings- as on Facebook. If I hover over the area where I know something would normally be, it pops up.

Where are the system requirements for FF7? The only ones I found were for FF5.

On my ancient work computer running Win2K, the 'Check for Updates' says it is up to date, even though I am running 6.02. Has Win2K support been dropped? I'm hesitant to run the stand-alone install.

Today I installed the latest version of Firefox(7.0.1). After I installed it, I had to restart my Firefox. I clicked the 'restart now' button and it closed my browser. However, it did not restart my browser. In fact, it didn't do anything. If I click on the firefox button now it doesn't do anything.

Any help is appreciated.
