Do Mozilla really have no idea why their browser is considered a better alternative to other browsers? Why do they insist on making their browser WORSE for the sake of jumping on the latest stupid tech trend!? Some new tech that makes everything it's used in perform considerably worse? Oh boy sounds like the perfect thing for firefox! If this keeps up I'm looking into a browser that's at least more open about the fact it doesn't care.

HI i have an ASUS-VivoBook laptop that has an intel i5 10th gen and geforce mx250 with 8gb ddr4 ram when i use firefox it uses about 550 mb ram alone on one page only is that supposed to happen ? if not how can i reduce my ram usage and power usage from settings and thank you for this amazing web browser i realy like the animated castle town from deltarune theme i am never going back to chrome THANKS ALOT

Yes, I'm using the dreaded Windows 10, I do understand it's at end-of-use, however this prob's been happening for ages. It's just got a little worse lately! (I've also got another hard drive with Windows 7 on it I swap the Windows 10 drive for sometimes. And we don't talk about the Windows XP hard drive with my music software on it. AARRRGGGHHH!!!! But the everyday drive with this problem is definitely Windows )

I don't use masses of extensions, just a VPN (which is there but not used a lot!) and is Proxy VeePN (that's its name, blame the designers, not me!) When I'm NOT using Firefox for a few moments, I hear the fans speed up, the hard drive spins like it's about to take off (old computer here!) The moment I touch the mouse, the fans all slump back to normal and the red 'HIGH USAGE' mark against Firefox vanishes back down to 'LOW'. Which makes it annoyingly difficult to analyze what's happening cos the moment I touch the mouse to find out what's happening, it stops happening!

Despite the above and its memory addiction - left to itself it munches memory like me with a crate of chocolate bars! - I do love Firefox best of all the browsers. I kinda know what causes the memory problem, by the way. I don't know all the techie terms but here's what's going on. Imagine you've got a house with an untidy kid in it. Every time one room gets too messy to use, you move into the next room. Eventually you run out of rooms. Then you restart the house back from day one, all the rooms are tidy again and you can use them all individually and happily - until Untidy Kid turns back up!

I'm on Firefox 148.0.2. If you've got any ideas about the CPU usage, I'm [email removed]@hotmail.com. It doesn't seem to matter what websites I've got in the browser, it just does this when I've got it parked in the background, it's like it's twiddling virtual thumbs through boredom cos it's not being used.

AMD ReLive instant replay does not work if mozilla firefox is open in the background while playing a game. It works fine with Google Chrome running in the background, closing firefox "fixes" the issue.

I have nothing but problems with firefox since the last new updates. Sites hang, gmail can't be accessed, it takes 100x longer for sites to load, firefox uses huge amounts of memory and CPU, etc, etc.

I am so fedup spending valued worktime having to solve firefox issues each time they decide to make updates - which seems to be more and more frequent. How can I roll back to a previous version and permanently disable any further updates?

Когда firefox зависает и windows предлагает его убить, firefox получает права системы и по этому становиться не убиваемым.Система не может его убить потому что у его права системы .В первые заметил этот баг когда сделал браузер firefox браузером по умолчанию.У меня сим роутер при запуске системы открывает браузер тут та браузер и зависает (не всегда ,но часто) в диспетчере задач в этот момент у его права системы.Писал в майрософт ,майкрософт посоветовал пользоваться нормальным браузером и сменить браузер по умолчанию .По совету майкрософт сменил браузер по умолчанию на chrome проблема пропала. Using Cloud applications via browser and my mail webbased I have Firefox installed. This browser was in my opinion always the better choice, but last months I experience strange behavior, cache issues, freezing pages, crashing tabs which is very annoying and frustrating when working in the cloud. In the same session it is possible that I suddenly can't open objects anymore or click on URL's, buttons not reacting or even can't login again, even when I just was logged in successfully. After refreshing and restarting the browser or sometimes even after restarting my device, everything is working properly again for a while. The same issues I have when using the incognito browser, especially when I use this for cloud application for example. I can't explain and my questions are: - anyone experiencing, familiar with and or know of this same kind of browser behavior and - if yes, how to solve this?

I don't understand. Firefox is eating up memory again in the latest versions, and on top of that, it's the GPU on my PC.

4GB for the app and up to 8GB.

Are you mining Bitcoin on my machine?

Hi, Please help with my issue: There are 2 Firefox browsers running on my Windows 10 desktop. How can I find one to delete it. My CPU is running very high in Task Manager. Thanks, I just can't find it and I desperately need to do so before my computer crashes! Many thanks any help you can offer is very much appreciated :)

When I use picture-in-picture for any video, all of my firefox browser windows go unresponsive. I can move the cursor around, but it won't allow me to click on anything. The only way to stop it is to open a brand new window which makes it responsive again and then close out of the PIP video. Sometimes it lets me go back to using the browser as normal, and other times it causes all firefox windows to crash. I'm using Windows 10. This issue only began happening about 10-ish days ago.

My computer, being 7 years old (and without the space to upgrade to WIN11), has always been a bit slow with low RAM and storage. The swap from Chrome to Firefox essentially gave it a second life, as Firefox didn't need a lot of space to run. Recently, though, it locks up with almost every search, refusing to let me x out a tab and try to save myself for 3 minutes or more, and the bluescreens have come back, too. If chrome hasn't also gotten worse, I'm considering switching back. Does anyone know what happened? I haven't installed anything new.

It's really frustrating and disappointing, because I thought I had a solution when I swapped to Firefox.

a black box appears over the search box when mouse is moved over the tab. Tried in safe and troubleshoot mode. Box still appears only in white I did find an answer previously but reinstalled firefox and the fix was lost. Problem resolved.

I am running Firefox on Windows 10 64-bit, and I have lots of windows and tabs open. Occasionally I will get a message from Windows that I am running low on disk space. Recently I got the message, and I saw on my C-drive" "336,044,032 bytes free". After I did an Exit in Firefox, I saw "10,082,402,304 bytes free". The space that was freed was in the pagefile.sys file. Is this normal?

Firefox is using about 15-20% of my CPU, with only one tab open. Running Firefox 141.0.3 (64-bit). I changed performance settings as suggested in support page; made no apparent difference. Ran Malwarebytes and McAfee scans; nothing detected. I have used Firefox for nearly 20 years, but if I cannot resolve this then I will drop Firefox and switch to another browser.

What minimum memory spec is recommended for current Firefox usage? Have new computer with 16GB memory, 512 storage, intel core Ultra 5-225 processor & windows 11. Have not set it up yet.
