Hello, I did something stupid. I was trying to set up the dark/light theme via cli, and I asked openai about it.

It suggested this command:

echo 'user_pref("lightweightThemes.selectedThemeID", "firefox-compact-light@mozilla.org");' | jq -s '.[0]' > ~/.mozilla/firefox/*.default-release/prefs.js

Which resulted in the following error:

jq: parse error: Invalid numeric literal at line 1, column 11

When I opened mozilla, my profile was reset, and websites won't load (except this one!). They just hang there loading forever. My internet is fine, chromium works perfectly.

So how do I fix this and is there a way I can recover my profile? (Yes I know I should've made backups)

I'm not sure what happened because it never broke sites like this before. Sometimes it makes a site impossible to read. I haven't done anything to the browser and this just started happening.

I am using an older OSx version which I am happily using Firefox 78.15 with no issues. Last week I easily attended meetings via Google Meets with no problems to date, until today.

All of a sudden it states that my browser doesnt support it. I have tried all workaround, uninstalled add-ons etc.

Was there a sudden change? This will affact my day to day work if meets no longer works.

Firefox not responding to general websites on the web (Ex: Amazon.com, etc.). I have several Mozilla-recommended security extensions that may be working against my firefox connecting to these general-in-nature websites.

4 PM, November 7, 2023 EST. The "About" page of all YouTube channels suddenly disappeared, whatever the the login status. A compressed version will show up from a channel's home page when clicking on the site description from its Home page. Make things weirder, ~6:15 PM it WAS visible from the Tor browser but started acting the same. I have no ad blockers, or ANY extension installed on any apps, including Firefox/TOR browsers. Updates to both browsers were made prior to this behavior. It may be Google/YouTube's fault but it's becoming frustrating because I prefer Mozilla's browsers over Edge or Chrome.

I have noticed quite a few websites that will not load on Mozilla but will load on other Browsers. Even turning off enhanced tracking protection doesn't always help. Some of these sites use to load without any issues. The last one finally loaded after I turned of cookie protection completely. What can I do to prevent this from happening in the future?

Hi, Mr. or Mrs. The website has blank pages (page cannot be accessed). Utilizing https://xnxubdvpnbrowser.online/ The page is blank even though it looks like it has been contacted at the upper left. Is there a reason Brave is unable to load the website correctly?

When I select an item in an amazon page I get script that is overlay on the page. I used to be able to access my email with previous versions of Firefox but cannot anymore. When I attempt to sign in it just goes back to sign in page. I have to use another browser to access my email. Is it possible to go back to a previous version of firefox?

When watching a video on youtube using firefox the network speed displayed by youtube is significantly slow that when on a chromium browser in this case edge. I have tried prievous suggestions such as disabling Zero Round Trip Time Resumption (0rtt) and tried in troubleshooting mode, neither have an effect. I have attached screenshots from the same video from each browser.

I use the above site to watch replays of the NFL. Upon updating the browser to the latest version, the page no longer loads the video content. It was working fine on the previous version and is working fine using Microsoft Edge. Can you please suggest a resolution?

Windvine Content Description Module updated - problem fixed. I had alternately disabled both Windvine and OpenH264 Video Codex, closed and restarted FireFox with no success. This AM, I updated Windvine, closed and reopened FireFox. Amazon Prime video now works very well. Thanks for your trouble shooting tips ! OS Monterey 12.7 FireFox 118.0.2 PS: FF Tab Manager has returned speedy browsing. Horray !

I use firefox on my mac to connect to the webgui on proxmox and casaos. Up until the recent update everything works great. Now, however, all I get is a blank screen with no activity. The same bookmark works great in safari and brave browser. I tried deleting the cache and reloading everything as well as the certs related to the websites. I even deleted firefox and reloaded and got the same behavior.

Doesnt happen with firefox on my linux or windows machines, only the macos. Doesnt happen on other browsers but I would like to keep using firefox.
