Yesterday Firefox started closing at random, sometimes instantly as soon as I open it. The crash dialog doesn't open, and if I go to about:crashes my most recent unreported crash is from 2019. Tried refreshing, reinstalling, completely wiping all profiles and starting fresh. If I use troubleshooting mode it won't open properly at allI am at a bit of a loss, any ideas?

Hello, this morning, i can't use Firefox. I've got an error message on opening : "Firefox is already in use and don't respond. The old process of firefox must be stopped...." And when i click "close firefox", it's opening but i don't have internet.

What i already tried: - disable all plugin - disconnect my firefox profile - run in "maintenance" mode - run an auto repair and clear cache history etc. - uninstall and delete program files folder of firefox - download latest installer and install fresh Firefox - Edit network.dns.ipv6 + network.dns.prefetch

I still have a crash message on startup and no internet. Chrome and Edge are working like a charm.

Any idea? thank you.

The following I wrote to initially question why showing dom properties didn't work at all, but I only had tried it on an textarea example on developer.mozilla.org so far. Turns out, on right this support forum's textarea I'm right now writing in, it does work. Could I make it work on developer.mozilla.org, too, like it works here on support.mozilla.org? That would be useful to inspect the html and javascript examples on there.

Original planned question: I very recently updated to Firefox 91.3.0esr (64-Bit), and I restarted working with the developer tools.

As far as I can recall it was possible to see an overview of an html page's element's functions somewhere in the developer tools. I tried "Untersuchen (Q)" ("Examine" or is it "Inspect" in English) on the textarea (in https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/API/HTMLTextAreaElement ). This openend the developer tools panel, the html was shown and the textarea-elemtent highlighted. There I right clicked and selected "Dom-Eigenschaften anzeigen" (View dom properties). The console opened, and showed: inspect($0, true) Restricted { }

(I want to access all the scroll properties of the textarea, and possible functions to scroll the textarea using javascript.)

Under the settings page of the developer tools -> standard developer tools -> I actived the checkbox "DOM", and restarted the browser (using the restart option under about:profiles).

I need to automate the deployment of Firefox along with the extensions. I put three extensions (uBlock, Translate Web Pages, and Auto Tab Discard) in the /usr/share/mozilla/extensions/{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}/. All extensions load normally, except Auto Tab Discard. When running firefox with the -jsconsole option, I see what the screenshot shows (the message "Invalid addon ID"). But the installation to user profile is successful. I add the extension ID to manifest.json, and get the following output in the console: addons.xpi-utils WARN addMetadata: Add-on {c2c003ee-bd69-42a2-b0e9-6f34222cb046} is invalid: Error: File /usr/share/mozilla/extensions/{ec8030f7-c20a-464f-9b0e-13a3a9e97384}/{c2c003ee-bd69-42a2-b0e9-6f34222cb046} does not contain a valid manifest(resource://gre/modules/addons/XPIInstall.jsm:669:11) What can go wrong?

System: Debian 11 (bullseye) Firefox version: 91.4.1esr (amd64)

When I try to play video embedded in many websites, I just get a spinning wheel, and no videos will play. I've cleared my cache, and followed numerous other tips that I found when searching on this problem, but nothing has helped thus far. Any additional advice would be much appreciated! Thanks!

Hi, Firefox suddenly started crashing today. I can't load any tabs, or if I can manage to load one or two it usually crashes very soon after. I tried using troubleshoot mode, which didn't solve the problem. I also tried a clean install, which didn't fix it either. I haven't installed any new extensions or applications on my PC. Here is the latest Crash ID: bp-b7811dc4-26c3-41ab-811b-252bc0220113. Thanks!

Amazon Prime videos won't play. Error message come up and says I need to upgrade to the newest firefox. I have the newest version 94.

Basically what happens is that some images download and upload as a mess of vertical stripes. One of the images is what happens when i try to change my pfp on my email, and the this (i couldnt get the image to upload here) is what downlaods when i hit share here.

This problem started with an update a couple months ago. Each bar is about 4 pixels wide and appears only on the right, left, and bottom edges of the browser window. They persist when the window is full size or smaller, but disappear on f11. The bars are completely unresponsive. Clicking or resizing the window doesn't seem to work inside of them. Even though the top of the window has no visible bar, there is still an unresponsive region like the other three sides and approximately 4 pixels of empty space.

When it comes to color, the bars spend about 50 percent of the time as white and 50 percent as the same gray that Firefox's dark mode uses. I wasn't able to get a screenshot when the bars were gray, but I was able to screenshot the top right and left corners when the bars were white, which I have attached.

It appears as if there are buttons of some sort poking out on the top right and left corners. If I had to guess, the top right icon looks like the "x" button on a Windows 7 window, and the top left icon looks like the red dot in the uppermost corner of a macOS window. My machine has only ever run Windows 10, and Firefox is the only application that this problem occurs in.

Restarting, using troubleshooting mode, manually removing extensions and themes, messing around with compatibility settings, running as administrator, refreshing Firefox, and reinstalling Firefox have all been unsuccessful. It really is annoying to live with this bug.

Since a few days, I keep experiencing constant crashes with Firefox. In the most common way, a Tab will crash first, often followed shortly by the whole browser crashing. Crashes occur on, but are not limited to, following pages: • YouTube.com • Reddit.com • Google Account Login • about:preferences • about:crashes • about:support • The very same Support-page I’m writing this on Crashes still occur after: • Rebooting Computer • Clearing of Cache • Starting in Safe Mode (crashes in Safe mode) • Deactivation of hardware acceleration • Refreshing Firefox • Reinstallation of Firefox (Uninstalled with the Uninstall/helper.exe) • Use of Windows Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool (DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth)

Recently all of the shown incoming email correspondence was deleted from display back to an August date, and since then no new emails are displayed. I have tried the Firefox Refresh program and a computer reboot, which did not fix the problem. How do I fix this problem????

I'm running a late 2017 MacBook Air with memory of 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Monterey 12.0.1 and using Firefox 95.0. I am having a continuing issue with a web site (E edition of The Fort Worth Star Telegram) that after opening a second page/window of a news article, that 2nd open page causes Firefox to stop responding. Clearing caches and or restarting computer does not help. Feedback to Star Telegram has yielded no solution.

My laptop got corrupted since I turned it off at a time when I shouldn't have, and ever since then, whenever I have opened firefox it just shows a blank tab and any new tabs that I open are also blank. I can type in the search bar, but nothing happens. Even uninstalling and reinstalling firefox does not help. (I am currently asking this from my desktop)
