I want to type a url in location bar and go to the page. Instead Fireox is making every singe url a search. What's worse is that it recently started making NEW urls a search IN THE CURRENT PAGE. I want to GO TO THE PAGE I TYPED IN!

I have gone through about:config and disabled everything I could recognize as making location bar text into searches or suggestions, but I have missed something. I just want to type htps://eu75.hostblast.net:2083 into the location bar and go to the page. I don't want to search the current website for it and I don't need a search engine. I ALREADY kNOW WHAT THE PAGE URL IS!

is there some way I can just use the location bar the way it was intended to be used?

Firefox always open in private browsing mode, that is, in Options/Privacy/History, "Never remember history" is the only option offered; Firefox ESR 52.7.3 is not in private browsing mode. I'm not afraid to go into about:config - I looked there for something to adjust but couldn't find anything I was certain was the setting. I'm unable to visit sites that lock out private browsers. Thanks in advance for help!

Hello, Until recently my Firefox had always happily run in 'tabless' mode, which I very much prefer. However, on advice from TalkTalk after some slow internet issues, yesterday I refreshed Firefox and can't get rid of the awful tab bar. I found a 'chrome' profile folder routine which can hide it, but the browser is still tab-based, causing problems with deleting multiple tabs because I can't select them indivdually. I've got around this by making the tab bar 10 px high so I can just about see the tabs with the least vertical space lost, but it's a very unhappy compromise... I don't know what version of Firefox I was using before the refresh, but it was updating fine; now I'm on v52.7.3 Your thoughts will be most welcome. Thanks.

My current version of Firefox is ESR 52.7.3 (32 bit), which works satisfactorily, and it updates automatically. However, Copyfish does not work with it, and I seem to recall reading somewhere that Copyfish is designed to work with Firefox 55 and later. Whenever I attempt to update Firefox, I am offered the ESR version. How do I go about installing the latest non-ESR version of Firefox?

I have downloaded flashplayer29_ha_install.exe but it fails to install flash. I have Firefox 52 on PC with Windows Vista 64-bit. The article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-flash-plugin-view-videos-animations-games has not helped. The only plugins showing in my Firefox browser are OpenH264 and Widevine, no sign of Flash anywhere.

Hi, My computer is Windows Vista. I have installed Firefox as my internet browser. And I like it. I know that Firefox will not support Windows Vista some time in May or in June. My question is: How can I save a Firefox Setup download that works with my OS now in a backup device for future use when Firefox Setup is not available to download because my OS is not supported, and in case the Firefox browser in my computer is accidentally deleted? My family members have deleted it twice accidentally in the past. . . . And then, what do I have to do to install it from the backup device? Please give me some advice about what I should do. I have very little knowledge about computer. Thanks, Gemston

Things started with OCR urls. Everything had been working a few weeks ago, but now suddenly Firefox couldn't handle ocr addresses. They would direct me to a page that says: "The address wasn’t understood."

Simple solution for a Debian Linux user, just install ocr-url. I did this and ocr links work perfect, but now I'm getting the same error with javascript:void(0) links. That was quite unexpected. Perhaps I should have done some more investigating before installing ocr-url. Something else may have been wrong and the simple solution may have just covered it up, since that had been working before as well. The ocr links just didn't really raise a red flag as i hadn't tried to use one in a while, but I know javascript:void(0) links were working yesterday.

So now I can't use links in my Amazon account, or any other javascript:void(0) links. I can open Chrome, but it's just ugly and a pain to use on my Debian system. I would really like to get full functionality on Firefox back if anyone can help. Thanks.

In about:config I have the following: services.sync.prefs.sync.javascript.enabled;true javascript.enabled;true network.protocol-handler.external.javascript;true

I have tried in safe mode with same result. What should I look at next?
