I signed up for sync on the old computer. And I got a message bar that said preparing to sync. After a few minutes it went awy and nothing else came up. I assumed it was done. Turned off old computer and turned on new went to Firefox and signed in hoping it would then show bookmarked and tabs etc, Nothing new, At a loose for what to do.

I have sensory processing issues, including a nasty sensitivity to flashing lights, zooming animations, parallax animations, and so on. Flashing lights can be blinding, disorienting, migraine-inducing, and in some cases, with safety lights, seizure-inducing. Flashing cursors don't take up much of the screen, but if I'm looking at the screen near the cursor, they're still a problem.

I had set uicaretblinktime to 0 in about:config, to stop the blinking cursor.

I reset it to the default, to try to see if Firefox would follow the system settings, which should also stop the blinking cursor. It wouldn't.

I can't find uicaretblinktime in about:config any more, to set it to 0 again, to stop the blinking cursor again.

How do I add uicaretblinktime again? Or add another fix to stop the blinking?

Is it necessary to have sync. I won't be using it on any other instrument and I don't know how I would use it. I have chosen a new password, but am told I had one before so hope there is no conflict.

& at the bottom of that Dialogue Box it states

Connection not encrypted. The website www.merriam-webster.com does not support encryption for the page you are viewing.

How do I get rid of this nuisance? It will pop up intermittently and then I have to completely restart the system to get rid of it, because I am not able to "surf" the internet. It seems to be linked to an icon that showed up a couple of months ago, an icon that requires be to chose "allow now" or "allow and remember". Located to the left of the web browser line.

some emails in hotmail will not load all of their images. Some will show up as one or two fuzzy letters and if I click on them it will open up a new related web page. If I click on the "open email as web page " link all images look fine. This has been happening for a few days and I am not sure if it is the new firefox version or something with hotmail.

After asking about this yesterday (and thank you for responding to my query), I have followed your suggestion to Change the action for a content type, I have Reset actions for all content types, and deleted mimeTypes.rdf. Now Firefox doesn't automatically create dozens of tabs - the only difference is it asks me every time because Firefox is no longer my default browser. It would still open dozens of tabs if I typed yes. It's not actually downloading anything, or if it is I don't know where it's putting it. I don't understand why this is still happening - but has only happened since upgrading to Windows 10 last weekend. Thank you.

When Firefox asked whether or not to show pin for a site on this computer, I misunderstood. I didn't realize I would no longer be able to use the pin next time I tried to access the site.

i would like to copy some of my family emails sent & received to my hard disk or whatever suitable backup facility I choose. Whichever computer I use shouldn't matter.

This tab will just open at different times, maybe when I open a new tab but not necessarily every time. Sometimes just out of the blue. I have never clicked on it so do not know what or where it might take me but not sure why my Norton allows it. Guess I should notify them also.

My windows 10 computer went down. I had to install a new firefox program from the net. I lost my bookmarks and they are not available in my current profile. Have they been saved anywhere else. Thanks, Sdelancy

I am running Windows 7 Home Premium SP1> I don't have this problem with my laptop with Windows 10. I even tried uninstall/reinstall. Still the same. I click on the Firefox icon and it comes up Google@ Frustrating.

My Firefox constantly hangs and I'm not sure why. It also produces an unresponsive script sometimes. I have all the latest plugins up to date.

My Firefox is the latest version 47.0.1, My windows is Windows 7 64Bit Professional. With 8Gb of Ram and a 4770k I7.

It makes me do a click to get rid of it. How can I disable that?

Besides the extra click, the tiny area that you're given to edit is not useful.

I keep my bookmarks open in another window, using this shortcut:

"C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -chrome chrome://browser/content/places/places.xul

If I want to edit, I go there, which is better, because the line is longer, which makes it easy to edit.
