Today, when searching on firefox, I found the site i wanted, then automatically several web pages started opening. PC Doctor being one. then a gaming page, then just more and more junk sites. How can I stop this from happening. It has only started today.

Unneeded extra line below url/tool bar with icons and phrases "most visited" "getting started" & (three identical times) "from internet explorer" showed up after I implemented Mozilla's suggestion on how I could get faster startup. Useless, takes up space, want to hide or delete it. How?

I am working on making an addon and one of the things i'd like to do is add content into a textarea automatically.

I thought this would work: self.port.on("replacePage", function(message) {

 document.body.innerHTML = "<textarea>" + content + "</textarea>";

});

But it doesnt. -or i dont know how to use it.

Could anyone help, or help me find a place to get help? Thanks

When I click on email link, I get several options to try for the purpose of sending a link. When I click on one of them, one of two things will happen. Either the link page will immediately close without even giving me much opportunity to select a potential email means or, if I get to select one, I try to set it up and get an error code. Sorry but I didn't record the code.

loading programs is slow. I recently allowed installation of Avast, but just now removed the program - will see if that helps, but do you have any tips? Does my pc need a defrag?

google is set to be default, all add ons are disabled, searching from search bar is ok (google).

but if i click on FF icon to open browser its yahoo as default page

I made the mistake of having Firefox keep NO history at all. When it restarted, it went to the Yahoo Search Page immediately, and I can not get to the Firefox Home Page to change the setting.

How can I get back to the Mozilla Firefox Home Page, so I can change the "Privacy" setting back to normal?

You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.

   Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.

You can check if there is an update for your graphics display driver and check for hardware acceleration related issues.

It is possible that there is a problem with the font that is used to display the text.

You can right-click and select "Inspect Element" to open the Inspector ("3-bar" menu button or Tools > Web Developer) with this element selected. You can check the font(s) used for selected text in the Font tab in the right pane of the Inspector.

You can do a font test to see if you can identify corrupted font(s).

You can try different default fonts and temporarily disable website fonts to test the selected default font.

   Tools > Options > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced

   Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
   Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

I performed the suggestions as best as I could, with no results.

Here is a 2nd Firefox problem I just encountered. This support page would NOT upload 2 small screenshots. I waited for 10 minutes for the 1st one up upload; all I saw was the rotating busy icon. One pic is 59.3 kb, the other pic is only 75 kb - your own support page is not working correctly - what gives?

The links only show up when I highlight the whole page as shown in the attached pictures.

I must have changed something accidentally because now every time my cursor is on any photo on a web page I've downloaded (for example, an article with a photo that you can click on to watch a video), the photo duplicates itself in a larger version. As soon as I take the cursor off the photo, the enlarged version goes away. One problem with this is that I can't click on the photo to watch a video (without playing cat and mouse until I finally catch the arrow). I drives me crazy. Can you help? Dorothy Coe de Hernandez

A few days ago, something strange happened and a left right bar appears on all web pages. I didn't install anything I know of. Checked firefox addins but don't see anything. It also doesn't do anything either.

I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled. Still there. Virus scan, nope. I'm worried this is a keystroke/password recorder and I have to stop using Firefox forever.

Please help.

Many sites do not get automatically added to the list of saved passwords - possibly a security precaution on the part of the sites in question, to prevent hacking of usernames and passwords. Since my memory is not what it used to be (and never was!), it would be helpful to be able to manually add websites, usernames, and passwords to the saved PW list. Then, they could be securely looked up, protected by the Firefox Master Password, when they can't be remembered and don't automatically fill in on a web site. This would be vastly preferable to continually needing to re-register to a web site when a password is forgotten.

Long sentence,sorry.I am using a website that allows the option to advance a page.If I save the page in favorites the advance feature works unless I close the browser first then I have to start from the beginning all over again and since I am on page 390 or so it takes awhile.How do I save the "next" option in my favorites so that I can proceed from where I left off where I was when I saved the page?Here is a link to the page where I left off.Thanks,Ron Gordon http://www.loc.gov/pictures/collection/fsa/item/fsa1998011829/PP/resource/

Due to the timing, I think the addition of the new antivirus is connected to my problem of accessing the Facebook sign in page but I don't know why I can always access a list of Facebook pages. Also don't understand that as long as I restart my computer then I can access the Facebook sign in page and sign into Facebook.
