I've a locked down deployment of Firefox v.42. which works great. I use the method of the mozilla.cfg and the local-settings.js. The user can't change the settings which I specify.

But when a user has an old "Mozilla" folder in their user profile these settings overrule. I can't find an answer how I can prevent this.

With other words, I don't want the Firefox settings in the user profile to be loaded. (Because I am virtualizing FF for a point solution).

After this crash LoadLibrary() and LoadLibraryEx() APIs (all variants - Unicode/MBCS and single char) stop normal operation until reboot, xul.dll remains locked by unknown process. As the result, Crash reporter can neither send the crash report with data collected nor add user's comment to it. Further transmission of crash report is available only via about:crashes page after system reboot because a lot of other applications (including FF) can't be started. Graphical attributes of other opened windows belong to other applications and texts in windows' headers look spoiled. Contents of all other CHtmlView-derived windows belong to other applications (even started before this crash) becomes empty. After reboot and until next FF crash all normally works. This crash happens in -safe-mode too, FF clearance doesn't helpful. Step-by-step backout of FF ver. from 42.0 to 33.1.1 has reduced fault frequency but not removed it at all. Fault may occure on attempt of open some Web page and may not occure on the same page next time after reboot, so, it looks like cumulative and/or garbage-in-constructor problem...

The only thing I have left of Mozilla is the icon on my desktop. When I finally opened my email, everything was changed -- from appearance and priorities all the way to the taskbar, which was GONE. I'm not a computer expert, but this is weird. Any idea what might have happened or who might have sabotaged me?

As soon as I type in a search request on my initial firefox page, I get a box come up from Google saying that I have to agree with certain things... I don't want to agree to Google using my personal details for any purpose and therefore have said No to this Questionair.

Now, I am Unable to search for anything.! It's as though Google has shut down all my search facitities.

All I get continuously is the Firefox Seach Page = then the Google Questionair/Agreement box.!

I would be extremely grateful for any Info on how to get my computer back withou having to be ruled by Google.

Whenever I use the Hiragana input method for Japanese (Mac) the keyboard freezes up every other time I try to type. After typing one sentence or phrase in Japanese, I need to manually switch to another language, then switch back to Japanese to unfreeze the keyboard for use in Firefox. I seems to get stuck when I am offered to choose between homophonous logographs i.e. 用紙 and 要旨, and although the arrow keys work to toggle between different choices, 'enter' nor 'space bar' will register, thus preventing me from naturally exiting the drop down scroll and moving on. This problem only occurs inside Firefox, and only with Japanese Hiragana (Chinese Pinyin works fine ironically). In Safari and other browsers the input method also works fine. Thank you for answering my question.

I'm trying to submit an application and this error appears every time I press the submit button. Server Error in '/cbse/2015/csssrenew' Application. Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for security reasons). It could, however, be viewed by browsers running on the local server machine.

Details: To enable the details of this specific error message to be viewable on remote machines, please create a <customErrors> tag within a "web.config" configuration file located in the root directory of the current web application. This <customErrors> tag should then have its "mode" attribute set to "Off".

<configuration>

   <system.web>
       <customErrors mode="Off"/>
   </system.web>

</configuration>

Notes: The current error page you are seeing can be replaced by a custom error page by modifying the "defaultRedirect" attribute of the application's <customErrors> configuration tag to point to a custom error page URL.

<configuration>

   <system.web>
       <customErrors mode="RemoteOnly" defaultRedirect="mycustompage.htm"/>
   </system.web>

</configuration>

how can I solve this?

Is there a way to send a request or verification ticket to either the company's website or Mozilla for SSL certification? Like, sending a link to DigiCert Inc. or Google Inc. Authority? I want to be sure that my connection to the website is private and secure. Furthermore, if the web page does not provide an SSL certification or verified website approval, would the passwords that I saved through Mozilla Firefox password manager be compromised or will they be secure even visiting a website that has no SSL certificate or verification? Please answer these two questions as soon as possible. Thank you.

I have a my Firefox profile and a copy of its folder. After a certain amount of time launching Firefox with this profile, the history and cookies are missing in the browser, as well as some other preferences and data. What I do is that I close Firefox, delete the profile folder, duplicate the copy to a new copy and rename the original copy to match the profile folder name. The next time I launch Firefox history and cookies are here again. Then after 3 or 4 launches, they've disappeared again, so here I go again with the copies.

I don't know what causes the profile folder not to work after a few launches. One time the history was there again even after rebooting the computer, most of the time it disappears after a few hours (after a few relaunches of Firefox).

The profile originally became corrupted when I performed a cold shutdown of my computer while Firefox was open. I remember that when I booted again, my profile was well; it was at the next Firefox launch that the data was missing. I opened the sqlite files with the sqlite3 command line and they looked clean. Next time I launched Firefox the data was available again. I made a copy of the folder in case of, and there I am with the merry-go-round of copies.

I know that different instances of Firefox can be run from specifying different profiles to start up the browser with. As long as these are limited to accessing a certain type of site; can they provide protection against CSRF, XSS, and DNS Re-binding?

Also, can these profiles be limited to visiting only certain sites? Can they also exclude certain sites to prevent for instance sites in private profiles (your bank, system administration) from being visited using a public profile (links in an email)?

We have an issue internally using Firefox against an IIS server that is using Kernel Mode Authentication. When using IE kerberos authentication is properly used. However when we use FireFox the browser keeps falling back to NTLM authentication.

We have talked to Microsoft and because this works in IE they believe it is a FireFox issue. We would like some help to determine why FireFox can't seems to use Kerberos with our server that is running Kernel Mode Authentication. We are not sure if Kernel Mode is what is causing issues but it seems to be the one difference between this service and others that properly use Kerberos in FireFox.

Can you provide some support to help us figure out why FireFox is falling back to NTLM? We are unable to determine why this is happening in the browser.
