We are currently using Firefox ESR 38.2.0 with our RHEL 6.7 workstations and need to change the network.negotiate-auth.allow-insecure-ntlm-v1 from the default of TRUE to FALSE.
We tried putting a .js file in /usr/lib64/firefox/defaults/preferences to change it, but the change is ignored.
When we try another setting in the file, such as perf("network.negotiate-auth.allow-insecure-ntlm-v1-https", false), then the change is made, however, with the ntlm-v1 setting, it is ignored in the file.
We can change the user_perf for network.negotiate-auth.allow-insecure-ntlm-v1 on a per user bases, but as an enterprise we would like to make this change for multiple users at once and not on a per profile.
Is there any way to do this, or is creating a script and placing it in /etc/profile.d the best option?
Thanks! Joe Giles

Have two Dell desktop computers with same amount of memory. Both running Windows XP Pro and same version of Firefox. Both have the same Firefox options set up. Both are on the same network connected by LAN. One computer started being incredibly slow to open Google home page. Refreshing Firefox always gets it back to normal but after a day - or two at the most - it goes very slow again. Opening any website takes between 30 and 60 seconds. This delay repeats if the browser is closed. When the browser is open, moving between websites - or opening different websites in a new tab, they load quickly. Have tried with and without private browsing - makes no difference. The only thing I've changed on the computer giving problems is to add a gigabit network card. Disabling it and uninstalling it made no difference. Adobe flash needs updating today but was up to date during this problem. Can't think what else to try.

Hi,
i have been given task to change config for Mozilla ESR users in our company. I'm trying to change the value "security.enterprise_roots.enabled" which is disabled by default in update channel "esr". Is it safe to push (mass copy) new file "channel-prefs.js" with modified preference or there is another way?
pref("app.update.channel", "esr"); /* extra code */ pref("security.enterprise_roots.enabled", true);

I am managing a group of network booted Ubuntu 14.04 workstations at a small town (public) library and the current version of Firefox for Ubuntu 14.04 crashes. The machine have all of the file systems NFS mounted. Installing an older version (Firefox 52.6.0 ESR) works however. The new version of Firefox works just fine on the pair library owned laptops, that also run Ubuntu 14.04, but the laptops are self-contained -- they boot off their local disks. Why is this? I have pretty much determined that the only definable issue is that the network booted machines are using NFS for their file systems. No, the workstations are not sharing logins -- each machine auto-logins to a *different* user, each with their own *separate* $HOME directory and they are *not* trying to share firefox configuration trees ($HOME/.mozilla/firefox/...). But all of these directories are NFS mounted. Oh, the server for the /home file system is running CentOS 6.

We have a client that used to run on local computers running the latest ESR version, they recently changed to a terminal server environment and during the setup 59.0.1 made it onto their new setup. Multiple issues have arisen that were not present on the old system and we need to move them back to the ESR version on the terminal server environment. I read online that you cannot just directly import any profile versions 55.0 and up to earlier versions so I am asking if I can instead use a mozilla account to sync over their data instead without causing a catastrophe, and if anyone happens to know what I might expect afterwards if this could potentially work.

We have deployed ESR version 60.2 (most current release). We have the config to force an update as it is available and silently install the updates suppressing any notifications. However, what most of our users are seeing is a constant prompt (as often as once a minute) to 'Download a fresh copy of Firefox'. If you follow the suggested link, it takes you to download Firefox Quantum. This feels like a bug. We do not want this version of the browser so it is unclear why it continually is taking users to this link. Its very difficult to ignore because it takes up the corner of the screen until dismissed.

I do have the memory.dmp file. Can I share it?

Mozilla,
I am requesting the "InstallDate" registry key added after installation of Firefox.
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox 52.4.1 ESR (x64 en-US)"
I was expecting a key with the format "YYYYMMDD", however no key exists.
Was this an oversight? Can we Add this?
- Example of the key
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Mozilla Firefox 52.4.1 ESR (x64 en-US)] "InstallDate"="20170901"

Hi guys, I'm working on locking down Firefox for some of our corporate machines, and in at least one of our configurations, I need to completely remove access to the Library and all it's components for security reasons, as it could be abused to browse local drives, and these are supposed to be kiosks.
Is there a way to either disable the UI element of the Library (what's the CSS ID, and then I can try to put it in CCK2 to disable that UI element) or to completely disable the Library window/functions/feature itself?
