When pressing the up arrow key with text in the URL bar, the bottom suggestion is selected, rather than returning the text cursor to the beginning. It used to place the insertion point at the very beginning of whatever text was in there, and then another up arrow press would select the bottom suggestion, but now it instantly wraps to the very bottom selection. It's quite frustrating when trying to modify a search query - now you either have to hold the left arrow key, or accurately click with the mouse

For instance, say I type "cloud" in the URL box, but figure "storm cloud" would be a better search. I can't just press the up arrow to add "storm ", because pressing the up arrow once now just replaces the entire line of text with "https://soundcloud.com/", completely ruining my search. I'm pretty sure this was recently changed with an update. Is there any hope of changing it back?

I want set my new tab page to open a local file. The same local file is also used for my home page. Until recently, I used the new tab extension to do this, however that stopped working.

There are many existing posts out there regarding this, so it seems it is a desired feature. However, none of the posts are applicable to the latest configuration 119.0 (October 2023).

Is there a way to force the new tab to open a local file? Or open the home page (which is also a local file)?

After the 119.0 Update, the Extension Button and Panel does not allow for access directly from the toolbar--the downloaded extensions (like AdBlock, Clock) are not able to be placed on the Toolbar per the Puzzle Icon to Pin to Toolbar

In Chrome I was able to have a home page as well as a first-up page. So, for my first-up page, I had Proton Mail for my email. Then, for my home page I had the New York Times. I'd like to be able to do the same here with Firefox, if possible.

since few years im a bit surprised by the fact, that on firefox, it's harder and harder to do the following customisation : -enable or disable javascript -enable or disable pictures of webpages

the thing is, years ago it was just a one-click setting to change, and now it's looks like to be needed either to go on nerdly-menu (about:config, and know by heart the right one), or to use an addon (that i dont want)

do you know if there is a possibility, for an offline computer (mean bye addons), without going to about:config, to enable/disable both Javascript feature, and picture of webpages?

it's the same for customised search engine : years ago it was faisable with just entering the address of a new one into the common settings, now it's looks like an addon is required.... why?!

years ago no addon nor connection was needed to : -en/disable JS -en/disable images/pictures on webpages -add/remove search engine

..why?

As a user, when creating and using a saved credit card, I'd like the opportunity to provide it a nickname. This would make it easier to distinguish if multiple cards are saved. This doesn't seem to be available.

The New Tab page includes some shortcuts by default, including Amazon Search (see "@amazon" in the attached picture), which I dismissed shortly after installation. (The only options are "Pin/Unpin" and "Dismiss".)

However, I want to create such shortcut for another search engine, like https://duckduckgo.com/?q=%s&iax=images&ia=images and I don't see the option - even if I set the URL to include "%s" and the name of the pinned shortcut begins with "@", as with smart keyword search and the Amazon search shortcut, respectively.

I am an advanced user and don't mind manually editing files in my profile folder (after I back it up of course).

Edit: I found a reference to it in prefs.js in my profile but changing it using user.js only caused the user_pref to disappear with no effect on the tile items. user_pref("browser.newtabpage.pinned", "[null,null,null,null,{\"url\":\"https://www.amazon.com/\",\"label\":\"@amazon\",\"searchTopSite\":true},null]");

I would like you to stop displaying notifications of incoming emails while I'm reading my other emails. These notifications block what I'm trying to read and they are irritating and annoying.

For the last several years I have had Firefox configured to display all website fonts in my custom font, Dyslexie. As of upgrading to v119 yesterday, I have lost this function; all websites now display their native fonts. I still have Firefox Settings Default Font set to Dyslexie, but it no longer works. Any help would be appreciated.

My laptop Fiirefox has a tiny white bar at the top with the X, minimize and maximize commands. How do I make that go away? (Or come back, if I need it to.) I need the real estate on the laptop, if for no other reason than to shut Messenger down on FB. Presently, I can't access the X to close it. Presently have Win10 on an Acer Spin 3. I want the Firefox suggestions to show up when I click on the address bar. Currently, it shows up only when I type a letter. I am unable to find the settings for it. I know it's a silly query, but would still appreciate it if it could be answered.

I have Windows 10 with current maintenance and current version of Firefox.

Don't know what the address bar is called, but I believe it once had a download icon. Am I mistaken?

Sometimes after I enter an address there will be an icon where I can download something. Is this website-dependent?

When Firefox connects to AMAZON, you do not show full access like other browsers, like Google Chrome or MS Edge. In particular, you do not have access to "sizes" and subliminal access to prices like Google Chrome or MS Edge

I'm trying to set the download location to a different drive, containing the current username. For example, if my username is Brett.Michaels, I want my default download directory to be G:\brett.michaels. Other browsers have a variable that is usable like {user_name} however I can only find reference to {home} for Firefox, which does not allow me to alter the drive. I've tried using Windows-based environment variables to no avail. Perhaps I'm missing something?

Hi. Everytime I'm looking for something on Google, my search is automatically redrressed to the Bing page through "clickcrystal.com". I cancelled Bing as a search engine from the Firefox list but I can't find "clickcrystal.com". I think it's a sort of malware. I also tried to find it through "CleanmyMac" but no results.

Can someone help me please?

How come that we are in 2023 and we still do not have major features like Chrome's Profiles or Orion Browser's Profiles.

For example, Orion Browser creates an app per profile and this allows MacOS users to customize each app with a different icon. This seems small but on a taskbar we can differentiate the instances faster.

Why is that the best option for managing profiles in Firefox is the Firefox Profile Switcher, a third-party tool supported by a community member?

Will this ever be addressed? Firefox is better than the others in so many things but, for example, even Safari implemented Profiles now.

To be clear: containers are NOT the same thing as profiles and profiles still have an usage. For example, my work profile has no syncs, different extensions and stricter configurations than my personal profile and this cannot be done with containers.
