When I open Firefox, the tabs from the previous session do not open despite the setting. I end up with a start page showing only a new tab page. This has been happening over the past few days and I don't know why.
Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening.

Something is picking them for me. And when I delete an icon another one pops in place but is generally a website I rarely use. When I start typing URL's in Firefox, it will only ever suggest the URL so far as the top level domain. For instance, I frequently visit trakt.tv/dashboard. But when I type "tr" into the URL bar, Firefox only ever suggests trakt.tv - I have to manually press the forward arrow key and type in "/d" in order for it to autofill the rest. It doesn't matter how many time I type the full URL in or even the fact that I've deleted all history only visited trakt.tv/dashboard, Firefox will still only autofill trakt.tv
Is there some about:config setting I can change to make Firefox recognize and prioritize specific frequently visited URL's over just top level domains?

I cannot disable google document viewer in Google Drive. Every time I go to open a recently downloaded PDFs in Google Drive, it invokes Document Viewer unless I specifically right click and tell it to open with Acrobat. I have disabled everything thing I know in both Chrome and Firefox, cleared the caches, rebooted, and the default behavior persists. Worse, the Document Viewer REQUIRES a complicated, infuriating sign in process that has only worked ONCE in dozens of sign in attempts. Please help with this.

I always use the current Firefox on two Macintosh browsers running OS 10.14.6.
Recently (in only one of the computers), if I download a file, a pane containing recent downloads opens in the upper left-hand quadrant. This is distinct from the downloads portion of the "Library" area, and gets in the way of my ability to use Firefox efficiently.
I can't seem to find a way to keep this pane from repeatedly opening up as I download things. Can anyone help?

So, for a few months now, the preview panel in Firefox has been popping up with every successful download of a file from online. Its a bit inconvenient because anytime it pops up, it basically tabs me off a page and interrupts my writing or the like. This wasn't an issue last year when after successful downloads, the downloads icon in the toolbar just lights up blue to signify a successful download. The preview panel popping up every time Firefox successfully downloads something (due to reasons, I download files in bulk from multiple sources) is incredibly irritating. The problem goes away when I just remove the download icon/panel from the toolbar entirely. I just wanna know WHY this bizarre phenomenon happens.

Before the recent 1-2 updates, pdfs,pictures and .torrent meta files used to get saved in temp folder which I LOVED very much. Recently these are getting save in my download folder instead of saving in the temp folder.
I changed this setting to allows ask. Still the files are getting saved in the download folder after opening.

Even if "Web site appearance" is set as Light, the following still remain dark:
Being able to set "browser.theme.toolbar-theme" permanently as 2 would fix all of the above, but users are still (Note: Since v96.0, when this complaint was raised) prevented from doing so. Why?

I have a user who runs SRS/Crystal Reports on their Windows 11 Lenovo laptop, but every time we go to the website where a Java-enabled pop-up window for viewing spreadsheets is supposed to load we keep getting a "A plugin is required to play this content" error message, but no option to install/approve the running of Javascript.
I have downloaded and installed the JRE and JDK on the endpoint device, but still no luck getting Firefox to load it. I am running the 32-bit version of the web browser, not 64-bit, so I am kind of stumped about how to proceed from here.
Is there a place I can manually download/install these Java plug-ins?

The background on the homepage link shortcut boxes keeps reverting to black and text underneath to white on my off-white background when a new version loads. I've used Colors to customize the look of my firefox but can't find any control for that. Once a new version kept the boxes white and the text black but now it's back to black again. The Firefox desktop browser default font is replacing all fonts on some websites, only title fonts on some others, and then leaving others unchanged. It seems random, and I can't stop the default font from taking over randomly on most websites no matter what I do. This was not happening until today, and no browsers or general MacBook Air preferences were changed between today and yesterday when I last used the browser on desktop.
Under Firefox Preferences » Fonts » Advanced, I've made sure to check the box to "Allow pages to choose their own fonts instead of your selections above", and I've unchecked it, and I've re-checked it, and the default is still overriding fonts on most websites.
I've quit and restarted Firefox 3 times.

I have always set my option for all download file types to "Always Ask" and now Firefox not only asks me where I want to save the downloaded file, but also downloads a copy to the Windows Download folder. Why am I getting double downloads? I only want one copy of a downloaded file, not two copies. Now I have to go to my Windows Download folder and delete the duplicate downloaded files. My question is, if my Firefox download option is set for all file types to "Always Ask", then why are you downloading the file twice??? I have specific folders where I want files to reside. I don't want to have to remember to go to my Windows Download folder and delete the duplicate files. How can this duplicate file download problem be fixed?

When I view a WikiSpecies list of file names (e. g., see https://species.wikimedia.org/wiki/Pentatominae), the instances which have been installed but never used should be in a different (reddish) color. I am attaching an image of a page containing a file named "Abadia" (first one on the left, just under "A") which is unused. I also am attaching an empty "Creating Abadia" which is the result of clicking on "Abadia".
Please tell me how to change the image of an unused, empty file. I recall that there were two different choices SOMEWHERE in the system, "Always" and "Never" I think: One of them forces a system-level color pattern which includes reddish unused items; the other allows the used to program arbitrary displays such as the above (typical example from the dconf editor is 'bg_color: #f0f1f2; selected_bg_color: #023C88', but this editor does not change the appearance of a file instance.
