I have a few spare minutes and I'm writing a book. I was to self-publish it or e-publish it or I don't know. I search for websites dealing with publishing books and place them in a bookmark folder named publishing. Several days later I want to recall those sites I found to see which ones interest me. I do not know any of the url's, I only know I placed them in a folder called publishing. I have hundreds of bookmark folders and thousands of urls. I want to search for and find the folder publisher so I can look at the websites. Your instructions about the upper search windows bring up history of places (many) I've visited. Your bookmark tools: you can get a history, you can view recently bookmarked, used tags, show unsorted (in no particular order), You canorganize, crete new bookmarks and NEW folders, etc. and all kinds of other organizational stuff. You can view in columns by keyword... and a well hidden window pops up called search BOOKMARKS...not FOLDERS. I typed in publish and all I got back were urls with the name publish in their title. And finally you can sort - again bookmarks, not folders. I don't think I even found a place where you can alphabetize folders which would be some kind of start...going down the list to the "P's" until I found publish. And finally, but equally not helpful you can import and backup. NOWHERE can you search for a folder that I could easily find. I have been a programmer since the mid 70's and a web designer too - if I can't find it I need to hang up my keypad because I've lost it. (Is that a better description than "something is wrong, firefox is broken"? But by the way, thank you for having the professional courage and courtesy to at least make this kind of dialogue available - you are one of the few and that is why I like your company and your browser..now if you could just fix this little problem for me (as well as finally get a substitute for that lousy Adobe Flash...do I hear HTML5?) I'd be a very happy camper and do unsolicited ads for you to all my goofy friends. Thank you if you made it this far - you're a brave soul.

When you hover on the lines in the folders contents they are in reverse video and very faint. All of the icons are the same generic type.

Hello. I found some of my bookmarks in Appdata/Roaming/Mozilla/Profile/5ccmq06e.default/bookmarkbackups etc just like firefox help tells me. But some of the bookmarks that I can access when I use firefox browser are not contained in "bookmarkbackups". Thus obviously begs the question(s) 1) where else are my bookmarks for firefox stored, & 2), if this is the only place they are stored, then why are some of my saved bookmarks visable/accessable when using the firefox browser not included in this bookmarkbackups folder? I have a bookmark folder within a folder which I believe belongs also in another folder. I want to duplicate it, but I dislike the idea of having to manually post the same bookmark in the now seperated twin folders twice from the moment I split them. Is there any way to sync the two folders so that a bookmark that is posted either one or the other is automatically duplicated in to the other folder that folder is synced with?
I don't have time to research a fix for this!!!!!!!! Just tell me how to make it work. Very unhappy.

In updating from FF55 to 57, I've seemed to have lost my ReadItLater bookmarks. Pocket asks for a login, which I've never had since ReadItLater stored everything offline, altough I've got a username and password saved in my password manager for "chrome://readitlater" and in my Appdata/Roaming profile I've got a readItLater.sqlite, which I assume is my two-thousand-some bookmarks, but I see no way in which I can import this to the new Pocket system, nor do I see a way to migrate.
Send help, I'm lost and afraid.

Mozilla claims that it is open. But if i try to sync my bookmarks, it is as closed as Google. It would be a chance to get Users back that left Firefox because of problems with version 57, if sync would provide an App for Chrome and IE so that i could use another browser if i had problems with Firefox. At the current, i have to change to Chrome completely when i have Sites that do not work with Firefox 57 any more. And there are many sites that do not work or are very slow with Firefox 57.
So my Question is: Will Firefox be open?

last version of foxfire I had bookmarks grouped by subject (credit cards banks sports ) now those are gone as are some bookmarks in these grouped bookmarks
I have a user who's bookmarks are being imported from her favorites folder to Firefox. Everyday she has to import her bookmarks because of them on saving.
It should say zero when I have read my emails. It just keeps ticking up, even after quitting firefox and opening a new tab for gmail.

If I copy a file to the desktop by dragging and dropping, "1940 United States Federal Census - Ancestry.com" is the shortcut name for the URL in the address bar, but coping another Bookmark fails....

But You can't have a bookmark with the same files name even with different URL's that generate the bookmarks.
A copy file warning appears..... Copy and Replace or Don't Copy If I select the copy and replace, it will not replace it with the Second URL but keeps the old First URL.
Other browsers, IE which I used without problems, will automatically copy that process and make two files as below...... "1940 United States Federal Census - Ancestry.com" and "1940 United States Federal Census - Ancestry.com(1)" each has the specific URL the made the Desktop. I see no way to solve same Shortcut/Bookmark names to the desktop. Your method fails to solve it with the"Copy and Replace"
Its like the URL gets stuck and will not change for new Bookmarks dragged to the Desktop.

Having many book marks to go to and seeing the loss of convenience when having to go through another menu to find the desired bookmark, why not have the ability to use small icons? Why not make it simpler? Why not make it easy? Why not live up to the propaganda of being a better browser?
